I recieved a call the first time and was told i owed 600.00 for a loan i had back in 2009 & i actually only got 300.00. they demanded a credit card or prepaid card and said i had to pay it befor the 16th of september. they had my old bank account number and address. they stated if i did not pay i would be sent to court and charged with fraud. I found it very suspitous how the had my bank account number. I did nothing ,then i recently reiceved a call from 888-472-6781 to be at my place of residence between 2-4 to sign documentation for paperwork with an id. the place they said i owed was first cash america but it was actually called first cash advance. The first time i spoke to someone i asked them for documentation to be mailed to my home address but they stated they didnt do that? all this is suspicious to me.

Another # he's calling from: 888-313-9572 but call him back @ 888-472-6781 x 473.  When I called the later # it belonged to a female.  He actually made a mistake when leaving the message.  He said he was calling from my office.

I am receiving calls from them saying I owe a past debt that my ex-husband took out and in our divorce decree says he must pay. They are saying they are from Berstein and Shaw law offices. I have advised them to send anything they have and I will speak with my attorney. They have not emailed as promised and have now called back and stated they will email it again and call back in an hour...I will not be bullied as my attorney is great and will take care of this. Better Business Bureau should do something about this company.

You can't be arrested for not paying your bills.  Tell them to stuff it!

I also got a call from these people.. they had enough info on me to make it sound real but i cant find a company online to match them.. they do scare you.. I wish we could get legal advice.. it was this

This company keeps calling me & my sister for a friend's info. re: a "legal matter". I have told them repeatedly to take my name out of their system, but they keep calling. The person who keeps calling me is named Ebony Clewis. I think it's Bull***t too!! How do you get them to stop?

Contact the bbb @ bbb,org. enter usa sight go to check out a buisness or charity enter the phone # 1-800-219-0771 click on file a complaint and type away. I started a case back in the begining of november but there are not enough complaints. Lets ban together and shut these people down

These people called a friend that I had not talked to in 3 years this is coming at the end of a bankruptcy.  Said there was criminal activity involving my ssn I called and entered the extension and it said transfering to pending warrents.  I freaked out and called my atttorney and left a message after vewing the two sites that I have. they're either a fraud, scam or a vicious collection agency. Report these people to the BBB the FCC and any other government agency that you can think of. WE HAVE RIGHTS WE MUST MAKE A STAND!!!!!!!!!!!!

I received a call from this number at my place of work and don't know who or what this is trying to find out if this actually exist.

I did receive this call and was threatened with legal action and have actually made two payments to these people in the amount of $75.00 each. I too asked for documentation to be either fax, emailed, or mailed to me and they denied saying that if the first payment was not made that civil and criminal prosecution would be filed against me. I could not afford for that to happen, it would me that I would lose my job. If anyone has any information about this company please contact me asap.....stevjhons@aol.com. This sounded like a fraud from the start and after researching the matter, I believe that it is. Please advise.

Said she was investigating contract fraud, but I didn't know the person.

I received a call from Jennifer from Bernstein Shapiro & Associates.  I returned the call and they requested a lot of information from me, like social security number and address.  When I refused they got very upset and hung up the phone.

I had a message on my phone.  It stated something about criminal activity.  I talked to them a few months ago and told them not to call my number again because this is NOT who they needed to talk to.  They said they would remove my number...well they didn't do it.  I am in the process now of writing letters to the Attorney General's office in Georgia and Washington and also the BBB in both States.  You must take action if you want them to leave you alone.

Actually spoke to "Crystal" after she left several menacing voice mails at my place of employment including one stating she would keep dialing numbers here until she found someone to give her information about me. When I spoke to her I told her I wanted verification of the debt, as is my legal right. She told me I'd get it in court and that she was going to serve me papers at work. I told her to stop calling my place of employment and she said No Way - she is going to keep calling me and do whatever she has to to track me down and sue me. Is this legal?

No, it is not legal. All you have to do is tell her you are putting her on notice, and that she is not to contact you any further on this matter. You can also specify that she not call you at your home or work numbers and inform her that you know about the fair debt and collections act.

I received a call on my work phone stating fraud under my daughter's name.  I called back from my cell phone but did not receive a call back. Can they do that and get away with it?

My caller ID says "Ebony Clewis" and then she hangs up! Why if she is in collections is the caller ID displaying her name?

Next time Ebony Clewis comes up on ID I will complain

Recieved a vm from a MR. Snyder re: 1-888-701-4473 claiming to be from Branstein, Shaw and Associates claiming I have a legal case  that a number of claims against me in  a county I haven't lived in in 20 yrs and rarely go to. Stating that if I didn't contact them they would file legal papers in that county. Think it is the same folks all of you are talking about.

Are your brothers going to jail?  Runs in the family, I guess

6-01-10 Interesting phone call from- guess who?  That very same MR SHAW of Bernstein & Associates in of all places- GEORGIA! Caller ID showed 404-602-0078 he said he was calling from 1-800-219-0771 and needed to use EXTENSION 103!!  Unbelievable manner of conducting business of any kind. Are they even licensed to do business in any other state? If so, where did they get the license?

got a call tonight from Mr. Shaw at Bernstien, Shapiro and associates. He states is call is in regards to a contract investigation for fraud and to call him back to give a statement to clear my name  he asked me to call him back at 800-219-0771 x 103.    I did *69 and the number came back as 404-602-0078.  My caller Id shows Bernstein Shapiro.  If he calls again, I will simply ask him to contact me in writing only.

Don't borrow money you cannot repay. When it comes time to repay, do not hide or lie. Make arrangements and settle your debts. It's what good people do.

Please be careful with this company. They have collection agents working for them that are known FDCPA VIOLATORS. Some employees are using fake names so they will not be identified. Again please be careful when dealing with this company. Seek legal advice if you are contacted by this company.

This place called an old friend of mine at HER place of work...a number I have NEVER provided for ANYONE, telling her that I was involved in a criminal case and that I need to be "found".   My friend said they were very rude and unprofessional and were willing to give up much very old information about me.

Since you said that it was a pay day loan make sure that you are looking for a deposit from the pay day company and not the agency that contacted you.

I have recieved several calls from this number.  They left voice mail for me to contact their "pending warrants division" asap.  They would give me no info and when they found out I'm an ex-cop they got real nasty.
