I get these calls all the time, I gave up trying to tell them I'm not the man they are looking for (being female should give this away), but now it's driving me nuts with a newborn at home. Is there anyway they can be reported, cos they won't stop.

i just got a call from the same "company"/phone number asking me to call Claudette. Same deal. I have a  credit account, but no outstanding bills, i have never paid a bill late. I just moved and my old gas bill didn't get forwarded to me for a long time, so i was afraid this was collections calling me about it, because my roommate was supposed to pay it. She swore she paid it (and shes one of my best friends, so i believe her, and she is responsible) plus, the bill was do like 2 weeks ago, collections wouldn't contact me already. i got a message at 615PM on a Monday evening. I racked my brain to think of an account with past due debts and i don't have any. total fraud alert.

They call me every day between 8 and 8:30.  Also got a letter stating I owed "Back Taxes" in my state (SC). The kicker is that it's my tax bill for THIS year.  Wasn't even 2 weeks after I filed that the calls began.  I've been scammed into paying an old debt that my ex really owed before. The FBI contacted me about that one about six months later.  I sent them all the info I had and 3 years later I get a letter stating "There is insufficient evidence and the cost of investigating is too expensive to warrant attempting to prosecute". You got it. It was NCO Financial under another name.

I've been getting automated calls for months and they never cease.

I've never had any debt.

It's been my ph# for about 12 years.

This stinks.  It has SCAM written all over it.

I've never called them back.

If you want to talk to me, use a human.

Folks, a few things to consider...

#1) unless you're delinquent on a debt, NEVER call them back! Why? The 1-800 service they are using probably allows them to get a digital readout of your name and phone number when you call them - yes, even at long distance. That's the recipe for being bothered for months+ to come. Now they've got your name associated with a digital readout of a phone number. Before, they may not have had this.
#2) If you feel compelled to call them (which I don't suggest) - do so on a free Skype account where the return phone number won't be yours. Hopefully, your User name isn't your real name.
#3) When they call you, NEVER volunteer information over the phone! Ask THEM who they're looking for, if not you, simply advise them that you're not that person and they're calling the wrong phone number. Please remove me from your listing - thank you...  and hang up.
#4) When they call, advise them that the conversation is being recorded, if they immediately hang up, you've got a good clue if they're legit. or not.

Something to consider is IF this was a scam OR a legitimate business how would you ever know for certain over the phone - you wouldn't. IF they won't give out their complete identification, including location, mail stop, FAX etc. be highly suspicious at the very least.

I recently bought a cell phone account where the carrier gave me a number that hadn't been used (according to them) in 7 years. Within a few days, I was receiving collection agency calls every hour on the hour from a scam outfit in Oregon identifying themselves as Wells Fargo. I've never had a Wells Fargo account in my life. Long story short, I got another telephone number issued - no problems so far. Needless to say, the carrier was amazed - I wasn't.

With the proliferation of Skype, Vonage and other VoIP services these days, phone calls can originate from ANYWHERE in the world. Furthermore, they can be very difficult to trace. Especially if the calling party is wireless. Who do they prey on? As they often term it, "those dumb, rich Americans..." Often, the best thing that can be done is to completely ignore them!

Consider that there are MANY MANY different scams out there these days!!

I've been receiving these calls for several months now.  They tried calling today from an unknown number, but I never pick up unknown or 1-800 numbers from my cell.  Today, the call from the unknown number was an actual person and said to call Tom Jalacee regarding the issue.  They also provided a reference number, similar to the comment at the top.  I'm afraid to call the number because I think it's a scam and once they verify our contact information, I think they start trying to hack into various accounts.

I've been receiving about 5 automated calls a week at work from these people. I have a direct line, but they've been calling the main number, which means my coworkers have to deal with it. That doesn't exactly help my reputation. One coworker was able to speak to a real person and gave them my direct line. Now I get confusing automated messages. It's weird.

I am receiving automated calls from this so called collection agency calling themselves NCO or N C O Financial Services and have called back only to find out that they are claiming to be calling the person than owes them money - I think that the person that they named may have had this number several years ago before me - I have had this telephone number now for over 2 years and I did inform them of this. They just don't listen to what I am telling them and have gone as far as having a rep call me back telling me that they will continue to call until I pay my debt and that they don't beleive that I am not the person that they are calling !  I have finally blocked the number and it seems to be working for now and have not received further calls from N C O Financial Services - this is the name that they identify themselves as and the caller is now insisting that in order to stop the calls I must provide them with proof that I am not the reponsible party by faxing them a copy of my telephone bill along with a Photo ID - can you beleive these scammers? NCO Financial Services claims to be a debt colletor or collection agency but I am convinced that N C O Financial Services is a fraudulent front for Identity Theft - DO NOT GIVE THESE THIEFS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION - SCAM NCO Financial services is a fraud and they should be prosecuted - there is absolutely no real information available for this company that can be verified - does anyone have any information about them ?  Where are they located and how can I trace an 800 number to find out the name and address - I would like to report this company to the authorities but need to find them first - thanks

I tried calling this number back and I've been hold hold for 25 minutes and 50 seconds.  The recording says "Please continue to hold, all agents are assisting other callers. appreciate your patience and assure you that assistance is just a moment away.  Please hold for the next available agent.  Your call is very important to us and we look forward to speaking to you.  A representative will assist you momentarily."  Yeah, right!  I've heard these messages cycling over and over again.  I'm hanging up.

I would like to report the number 1-800-221-6850 for calling my job and my cell phone up into the night.  They will call even after I have told them to cease calling my job and harassing me. The account that they are calling about is not my responsibility.  This account is due to an auto accident, where a guy hit me from behind going 45mph, while I was sitting at a red light.
