I also received a call from them.  It was a 10 minute phone call which included questions about How many children I had. What their bdays were, where we lived, if we lived in the 'city limits', how many cell phones we had, how many land line numbers we had, if I had a degree past high school, what race we were, if I owned my house, what our annual income was, if we received the flu shots, if we planned on receiving the flu shots and what type of insurance we had.  Never did they ask me WHY we didn't have flu shots.  I asked why they needed my phone info they said for calling purposes- so they wouldn't call another of our numbers but yet never asked for those numbers.  If the CDC is concerned in the spread of disease and combating the lack of prevention you just might think they would care WHY folks are not getting their shots....unless they plan to force our kids into them regardless of reason...

I'm pretty sure the CDC doesn't need phone info (I mean they called me right?) or my childrens' bdays or my annual income or what type of degree I have to determine if we are a risk factor or need help.  Just because NORC folks get on here and tell us it's ligit does not mean this isn't a data mining phone call used by the Gov or that it can be trusted.  If you don't have caller ID anyone can give you these numbers via phone.  Originally the Department of Agriculture 'requested' that farmers and ranchers provide listing info and micro chip all their livestock and poultry for disease control purposes also.  Now the bill they are trying to pass would require all livestock and poultry to be listed at the farmers cost with breaks to big ranches.  Those that willingly volunteered this info are the first to be forced into these costs.  Further more, I to worked as an Enumerator in 2000 and knocked on folks doors.  I asked questions on the long form and just let me say that there is no reason some of the questions should ever be asked by the US Gov.  It made us all very weary.  You should be to.  It's better to question than be blind.  If the Gov doesn't answer your questions they aren't working for you and seeing how you pay them they ought to.

Both CDC and NORC have toll-free numbers where people can request not to be called. At NORC, it?s 1-866-999-3340. At CDC, it?s 1-800-223-8118, and callers should cite protocol #2000-17.
