Verizon Wireless called our home number to thank us for upgrading out phones and renewing our contract with them.

It is Verizon Wireless.

it would be a much nicer call if they just left a polite message, instead of hanging up on the machine.  I would say it was a privacy consideration, if I hadn't gotten so many solicitation calls TO upgrade the phone, also hang-up calls.  or texts.  or emails.
It's nice to be thanked, but not to be hung up on - no reason for it.

Received call from this number - It's verizon wireless thanking us for phone upgrades and to make sure we nothing else.  Nice call for a change.

I received a call from supposedly from Verizon Wireless and they said to call 800-226-2166.  I can't find any information that verifies the legitimacy of this number.
