I just checked my account and there is no payment to be made because I consolidated my loans 5 years ago. So I don't understand why they are calling and hanging up.

Just got a call from this number asking for a person who has been dead for 10 years.  He was about 90. Then asked if I was [his granddaughter's name]. This was at a church office, not even at home.

Are student loans governed under the FDCPA?  If they are, you can send them a letter stating that all communication is to be done via USPS.  Send it registered mail return receipt and once they receive it, they can't call you any more.  If they do, they are in violation of the FDCPA and you can take them to court

how do you know they aren't making their payments?  How do you know they even have a loan?  You are making assumptions without any basis in fact.  That makes you an A$$ and a shill.

buh-bye

Instead of replying back with an angry post, I suggest you calmly verify the number yourself. You can easily go to Google and search them and also find articles about them to verify them as well. You can do that on your own. The place is called American Education Services. You will see it is a legitimate service. They're not frauds at all that you're "claiming" them to be based on no facts and no evidence whatsoever. I think being angry has caused you to forget that you may have pulled out a student loan for one of your kids and not for yourself. Yes, you should be careful about giving info out, but look them up and you'll be assured that they're fine. If you still disagree with me, then too bad. I will not be coming back here if you reply. If you are that concerned, I suggest calling your phone company and tell them to block the number so they won't call you anymore. Problem solved. Have a nice day.

You must have pulled out a loan. That's why AES is calling you. They're a real, safe company and you treated them with disrespect. I've been in their building before to make payments. Shame on you.

The person you're replying to is a fake loan shill. Most of them we catch, that one slipped by. Thanks for calling them out. Millions of Americans are getting called by foreign criminals trying to extort money on fake loans.

"If you would make your payment on time there would be no reason for them to call you."

Oh really???  They called ME this morning.  I am 59 years old, never had a student loan.  So kindly tell me why they're bothering ME then.

Never give confidential info to ANYONE who has called YOU.  Find out who the company is and get their callback number.  Then go online and VERIFY that that callback number is correct.  If it is, fine -- call them back.  If it's not, then call the correct number for the company they claim to be and tell them what is going on.  Protect yourself first!

We get calls from this number all hours of the day and night.  It comes up on caller ID  as Unknown Name.  yes we have student loans,  no jobs, but if they want to speak to us,  why does it not say AES  and they never leave a message.  We are sick and tired of the harassment,  how can we pay these loans,  which by the way,  they have established a payment to be around  $800 a month!!   I will pay on loans,  when I can.  There is no need to constantly call people and pester them.  Its upsetting enough,  not having a full time job,  let alone badgering for money!!

the number is to AES, the reason they ask for the last for of SSN and DOB when they call is to very they are speaking to the correct person would you like your information giving out to a stranger? I live in Harrisburg and i walk into the building every month to make my payments so i can tell you they are a legit company. If you would make your payments on time there would be no reason for them to call you.

AES uses several different phone numbers to make their collecting calls.  They also use several different names that are registered with the state of Pennsylvania.  They are headquartered in the state capital of Harrisburg.  They are some of the rudest, most arrogant and will call at any time of the day or night.  I would like to know if the governer's office of PA has a Consumer Protection Advocate as some states have and , if so, how can I access that person.

I got a phone call from 800-233-0557 today at 5:30 pm.  He said he was calling for  American Education, Then he asked me what my birthday was and when I asked why do you need to know, he said to verifty that it was me he was talking to, I told him I 'm not giving you my birthday, then he said if he could verify my last 4 from my social security number.  Told him I don't think so and asked why he was calling me.  He said something about going to college .  Told the man I don't need to go to college and I am not interested.   Finally got him off the phone. ........   Don't give anyone any information.

This is AES, a Student Loan Company.  Strange.  When I'm late, they don't call much.  But when I make a large payment, they call several times a day until it clears.  Not sure what their issue is.  As long as I make my payments, they need to leave me alone!
