Just got a call from them , 5/19/10. Did not answer and they hung up without leaving message. I will put this number on my Ooma Blacklist.

The caller is Solomon and Solomon, a sleazy collection agency calling over and over for someone who has NEVER lived here.

Thanks to everyone for reporting this number - I just got a call from this agency and like all of you, there is nothing up with my finances.  You'd think that they would have better things to do with all the real bankruptcies and foreclosures going on.

We got a call in our office this morning and for several mornings recently.  When I answer no one responds but they are still on the line.  I'm delighted to just hang up!

Solomon and Solomon is a collection arm of Verizon. We got an automated call from this number.

Our story is this: We canceled all accounts with Verizon in September of 2009 when our company moved to a different facility. As of July 2010, after more emails and phone calls than I can recall, Verizon is STILL trying to bill for service at a location that they recognize should have had no service after the cut-off date in September 2009.

But Verizon's billing system still generates bills for these canceled services almost a year later, and the "past due" status of those bills (we're not paying for service on accounts we closed a year ago!) automatically dumps it all into S&S's lap, hence the calls we get from them.

I bet at least some of the folks that are getting calls from S&S may have phone numbers that Verizon/S&S's bad record-keeping still indicate belong to a previous customer who's account went into default.

And who said the phone company isn't your friend...?  :)

I get every day several calls from this number not leaving any messages and when I pick up no one talks, I wonder if they pretend to be a professional company doing phony calls? What the hell? If u have something u want to talk about then talk if not stop calling

received the 1st call around 3 totally machine asking if i was my brother in law.. press one if I was press 2 if I was not.. so i pressed 2 and was told my number would be removed..
at 4 got a 2nd call this time from a person asking if same named lived here.. he does not I said no and asked to be removed from the list. she was nice enough to respond!!!

Ok again was not at home when this number called.  Googled it for laughs and giggles and lo and behold it belongs to Solomon and Solomon -518-724-3000 on previous calls.  Am baffled as to why they are calling AND now using a Toll Free Number AND leaving no message??!!!??!!  Jumping Jehosophat, am getting tired of checking my credit report and questioning as to what is going on.

This Soloman and Soloman are such losers...I know you chasers get a percentage of what you collect in debts, However when you call the right people maybe you can get some $$$$...
Your Law firm must be a low-class un-informed old batty lawyers...
Obviously the law business in NY is not lucrative ...any law firm that collects debts are L-O-S-E-R-S!
What don't you do criminal law, or Estate planning, Oh I know you don't have the smarts or the knowledge ..not to mention lawyers?? Or maybe no one has been able to pass the Bar??? More like it..

I was simply trying to example to the woman on the other end of the phone that eight am is not the best time to call this number. Maybe a later time would work. She said the eight A.M. is a reasonable time and she will call back tomorrow at eight in the morning. I was completely shocked. This lady wouldn't even give me a number or the reason why she was calling. So if I don't have any information  then I couldn't relay the message. So I was letting her know to call back later.  I understood that she couldn't give any personable information out.  But to say she will call back at the same time tomorrow. That wouldn't be smart. I am not even telling the woman not to call here. Just call back later.

I received calls from this number two days in a row.  No one left a message.  Tonight I decided to answer and they hung up on me. So I did something I'm sure they did not expect.  I called them!  I pressed the * key in their phone tree menu and spoke with someone.  I explained that I have been getting hang up calls from this number and even had someone hang up when I answered.  The woman sounded really ghetto, but was apologetic.  She asked if I was Phyllis (last name omitted for privacy).  I told her I was not.  She asked if I knew Phyllis and I told her I did not.  She said they must have had the wrong number.  If they call back again tomorrow, I will find a way to report them for harassing phone calls as I have already told them that I am not the person they are looking for and do not know that person.

Armed with the info above, I finally answered ready to blast the caller with liberal use of vulgar profanity.  Male caller claimed to be from Soloman & Soloman. Claimed I owed Verizon a termination fee for disconnecting my service.  Big mistake for the caller.

I used to get land-line phone, internet and cell phone service from Verizon.  About 9 months ago just before I retired and moved several thousand miles away, I signed up for Vonage internet phone service (love it and kept my old number).  Took some work to separate the Verizon phone and Internet from Verizon Wireless (Cell) service and bills. In a couple of weeks, I had only internet through Verizon and Cell through Verizon Wireless, now with separate bills again.  The day before the move I went on line to Vonage and forwarded my former phone number to my Cell number.  Then I called and canceled the internet line.  Two months later I had a final bill showing a zero balance on the internet service.  I still have my Cell on Verizon Wireless so I'm good with them

I did not disclose any of above details to the caller from Soloman, I just let loose on the caller.  I doubt they will be calling back soon.

calls from this number come in at random different times and hours no message no human on the other end when answered. STOP THE CALLS BLOCK THE NUMBER

Always calls when I am not at home, sometimes twice a day.  Baffled as this number googled comes up as Solomon & Solomon, 518-724-3000 on previous calls. Wasn't home for those calls either.  They are a collections company, now using a Toll Free Number and leaving no message.   HMMMM - checked credit report and my records - haven't forgotten or found any over due stuff.  Haven't had any previous lives that owe money that I know of :)   Not even going to answer now if I am at home as they do not have the courtesy of leaving a message either with their 518 number or their 800 number.
