I am receiving calls daily to call this number.  I try to return the call and a recording answers and tells me to hold or press 0 I have tried both and the phone just rings.  I have let it ring at least 25 times. There apparently is something wrong with their phone line.

I this is Mike Green and I have an important Pers. matter to talk to you about. They call my parents every day and leave a message to call. My father tried to call but no one will answer the phone.  I advised them not to call the person back as it could be a scam to info off the phone etc..  They are registered on the do not call list but this person still keeps calling them.

1-800-236-3796 ext 1298. They called my brother's home number which is a new phone number he had not even given me yet. I looked at the notes from above and some of you have deduced this is Verizon. This has to be a Verizon collection agency. I know because they are mad at me because I quit their service in the middle of the contract after they lied to me to tell me the aircard they sold me would be unlimited. They were billing me astronomical rates until I complained and they removed the charges, but says I would have to stay within the limits from now on. I told them I could not use their service if it was not unlimited because that is what I needed and they told me I would have to pay triple the bill amount for the unlimited service. I told them I would not be paying that amount, and if that is their only recourse, I will have to find another service, and they (Verizon should not charge me for breaking the contract since it was not clear to me this was not unlimited service). They said there would not be any repercussions with leaving the contract early, yet here I am in collections. I told them I would tell everyone I know to never deal with Verizon again. Here they are putting me in collections with this shyster collection agency. And I am keeping my word I tell everyone I know not to deal with Verizon. I also tell them not to deal with Sprint because I had that service before and the signal was TERRIBLE (I hear from a former worker that it still is terrible). T-Mobile so far has been the best I have had. Their internet service is not so great yet and they love to keep you in long term contracts, but anytime I have had a complaint, or needed to reduce my service minutes, or even increase, they have searched for the best solution for my needs at the time. I love T-Mobile.

and stated that "I have been reeving harassing calls from this number", I was transferred to a customer service rep gave her our phone number and stated again that "I have been reeving harassing calls from this number".  With out any prompt the rep stated that they needed the name of the person they ask for when they call, I stated that is a personal matter.  The rep then said she will remove our number.

If you want to get back at them go to the web sight myphoneblaster.com and enter the 4405421360 number and have fun.

If you're getting unwanted calls from National Enterprise Systems, you can reach them directly either through mail or phone (I'm currently suing them for harassment, so I have alot of experience with this company unfortunately). The best thing you can do is send them a certified letter in the mail asking that they stop contacting you. Also, contact your state's consumer protection agency and file a complaint. National Enterprise Systems frequently and willfully engages in illegal activities to try to intimidate debtors into paying their debts, but you don't have to let them bully you.

I recently worked at this horrible place. National Enterprise Systems is the collection agency from hell. It's the devil's worst nightmare. Employees are trained to collect according to the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act but once on the floor in their respective departments collectors are told to forget everything they learned.

My supervisor, Bryan Howard under the alias of Paul Stevens, regularly provided a second voice to collectors having trouble closing collections. This idiot would identify himself to callers as a federal agent, an NES attorney, etc., anything to try to scare the debtor into paying. He would actually tell debtors and their spouses that a lawsuit had been filed and if the account is not paid by postdated check by a certain time that day a deputy of the court was coming to serve the debtor on his job. I witness this on a daily basis all day long. B. Howard is neither a federal agent, attorney nor any of the other things he claims to be and NES don't sue debtors. All are clear violations of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.

Debtors are talked to as if they're inhuman. Even when the debtor is not home the person taking the message is treated like dirt. I will never forgot my supervisor shouting at an 81 year old African-American woman for not getting a pen and paper to take the message. "I DON'T CARE IF YOU ARE 81 YEARS OLD HE SCREAMED AT THE WOMAN." I've witness collectors hollering at kids "GO GET YOUR FATHER."

You are not supposed to talk to spouses—in certain states--about their significant others’ debt unless given permission by the spouse to do so. This rule is ignored at NES. In fact when I left training I put the document about the spouse rule on my cubicle wall to reference only to have it snatched and trashed by Bryan Howard who said I wouldn’t need it.

The owners Ernest Pollack, his wife, and two sons: Scott and pie-faced Chris are well aware of what is going on. These people are hands on owners. They constantly walk the call room floors, note the individual collectors and group collection sales and hear all the violations first hand. The more a collector screams at a debtor the more they like it. People actually clap and cheer when a collector goes off on a debtor. All that concerns these greedy bastards is how much money they are collecting at any given time.

Payments are demanded in full although they do offer settlements that are too demanded in full. Money orders and mail-in payments are not accepted, only postdated checks over-the-phone or Western Union Transfers for Citi Bank accounts. Some other creditors do allow NES to also take payment by credit card. For the postdated checks debtors are asked to give their accounting and routing numbers. NES, the scumbags they are, attempts to take the money out before the postdate. Nice company huh!

Collectors and supervisors once provided with bank info by the debtor call banks automated customer service numbers to obtain how much money they have in their accounts. We have their social security numbers so getting info this way is like taking candy from a baby. Some banks have safeguards against this and required you talk to a live person. They also work this wickedness on debtors’ credit card accounts or the credit card accounts of the debtors’ spouse, mother, father, etc. I remember one collector on the phone with a debtor saying “Your Mother Has $7,000 On Her Card She Can Use;” She Can Pay This Debt For You!”

If anyone needs someone who's "been there" in any of their legal actions against this despicable company I’m your guy.

I have a business and receive calls from this number pretty frequently. I called them today to ask them to remove me from their call list and they asked for my phone number. They named a former employee of ours and when I told her he no longer worked here, she said she would remove our number from their list. If I get any further calls, I'll let you know!

You're all very welcome for the FCC link, I hope they get fined big time. Kris, thanks to that number you posted, I finally got my number taken off their list. First I spoke to a man that said my number was not on the list and I said that is impossible because they call me constantly. Then he transfered me to this very, VERY rude woman and guess what, suddenly my number is on the list! I was very polite despite being extremely frustrated and angry and she showed me no respect. I said thank you very much after she took it off, and she hung up on me without saying anything. Thanks again, kris.

Also, I don't think it is only people with verizon, as I've never had an account there. As a matter of fact, I was 17 when the calls started (18 now) so I have no idea how they got my number.

Judith: Maybe. Pressure from the FCC or the BBB? Although those agencies must get boatloads of complaints for all sorts of companies and I wouldn't expect swift action. But being able to Google any number sure comes in handy, doesn't it? Especially when you get a direct hit with instant information. I found it good to know that I wasn't the only one annoyed by NES.

Debbie: Have you tried letting it ring and ring? I was not going to hang up until it rang 100 times but got an answer at around 30 rings. Keep trying. Unless you think you owe money to someone it is not "an important matter", it is only NES with your number that used to be someone else's or that is associated some way with a delinquent account. They are pests.

Well, that sucks, to put it bluntly, if it's true, for Verizon to dump all their bad accounts just so the other company can harass innocent people at will. Makes VERIZON look bad at this point. I don't know if it's legal for NES to go about it this way but it should be illegal for them to be rude and hang up on you when you call to get off their stinking contacts list. I don't see why they couldn't check the number/acct names first to see if it's the same number/name match as the delinquent's account record. It's easier for them to annoy folks ad nauseam.

Glad there is this site to post our complaints and warn others.

KREE: I wish you luck on getting them to stop calling. I can't believe it wasn't harder for some of the rest of us to call off the NES dogs.

FYI:  My inside informant tells me that National Enterprise Systems has purchased all delinquent phone accounts from Verizon.  If anyone of these people with delinquent accounts has ever called your number then it will be on the record of the delinquent account.  This is just a ploy to hunt down these people by process of elimination.

Thank you Josh!
After receiving many calls (sometimes twice a day), I finally called 1-800-236-3796 and it rang for about 30 times before I hung up. I called again and got the same result. So I called back again and spent little time time "exploring" the directory and voice mail system of 1-800-236-3796 (National Enterprise Systems, aka NES). I randomly entered extension numbers and was connected to many different voice mail boxes for many different people. I entered numbers randomly and I entered numbers sequentially and without exception, I was connected to someone's mail box. Sometimes there was a name attached to the voice mail box recording, sometimes it was just a recorded voice saying the name of the extension, but it was always a different name and/or voice. Since this company has wasted more than a few of my cell mintues, I will list a few of the names and extensions that I was connected to and maybe someone will waste some of their time:

Kara Pearson (sp?) - ext. 1346
(no name) - ext. 1347
(no name) - ext. 1348
(no name) - ext. 1436
(no name) - ext. 1586
Meagan Little (sp?) - ext. 1782

I then called the number provided by Josh and was quickly connected to an operator at National Enterprise Systems (NES). I told her that I wanted to talk to someone about removing my number from their call list and she transferred me to someone in "Client Relations". I politely repeated my request to have my number removed from their call list and was asked for my number by the client relations representative. I was then asked if I was someone that I had never heard of and I said no (and did not give my name). The client relations rep. apologized and said that it would take about 24 hours fo my number to be removed. I'll post another comment in a few days with the results.

I talked to Arnold Splooge at this number and he informed me that the ONLY way for my to resolve this isue would be for me to pay off some other person's debts.
I agreed and told him to meet me outside the offices of the West Bank of the Mississippi, and I would pay him off with a check signed by Mr. U.R. Screwed.
He didn't seem to want to meet with me, face to face.

It's been a week and the annoying, costly calls from this number have stopped since I complained to them. This number is indeed tied to this Nat'l Enterprise collections company but their business practices deserve to be ratted out on as they seem to be disturbing people without checking to make sure the number they're calling is *CURRENTLY* attached to the debtor's name they've been given. They brag on their website about their techno-innovations and efficiency, etc., but if I were a creditor, I would use another collections company as this one is sure to have a boatload of complaints to the Ohio BBB and other appropriate authorities concerning their harassment of innocent people who have nothing to do with the creditor.

I have received dozens of calls telling me to call 800-236-3796 and that a Michael Green wants to speak to me about a business deal.  I finally called and let the phone ring for about 20 rings.  It was answered and I told him to take my number off his list.  He then started asking for my name.  I said I was on the "no call list" and my name is none of his business since I was not who he was asking for.  The guy starts yelling and swearing at me.  BEWARE.  THESE CALLERS MAY BE TRYING TO GET A NAME ATTACHED TO A CELL PHONE NUMBER AND ADDRESSES FOR IDENTITY THIEFT.  I would not give them any information.  I will be reporting these calls- I am not sure yet where.  The no call list site complaint page seems to be not functioning.

I have a pay-as-you-use phone and an automated voice has been calling me for 3 weeks, almost daily, sometimes twice a day or leaving voice messages which all cost me units. I wasn't too happy and called today and a phone rang and rang, finally got a live guy and he said the number belonged to so-and-so, no one I know, that's for sure! Then the phone went dead so either he hung up or it was our connection. I did have time to demand they stop calling as I am not the person he named so we shall see if they call again. I am interested in knowing if JOSH has had anymore calls since he spoke with this company. They are a pain in the head and I am not even a debtor.
