Why defend this scum? They know they are breaking the law by calling numbers on the government's Do Not Call list. The idiots justify it by saying they are paying for college and other excuses. These are crimnals who are breaking the law. Why not just call them undoucumented telephone operators, just like illegal aliens want to be called undocumented workers and drug sellers are undocumented pharmacists. It's a good thing I don't know where they are calling from. I would go to jail for what I would do to these low-lifes who are stealing people's credit card numbers.

Prank Call
This is NOT Citibank.  They are phishing for your information (just like phishing emails) and using tricks with caller ID and information from special lists to try to fool you.  Citibank does not do credit cards surveys or solicitation through the phone.  Do NOT give them your information if you bank with Citibank...call the number that Citibank has already directly told you to call for your credit card (you should already know which number this is) if you have questions on this.

If they are calling your cellphone, you can set a contact name (i.e.: No Answer, Crank Call, etc.) for the number and set your phone to not answer.  Some phones may even be able to completely block that contact.  If there are other numbers doing the same you can place them all on the same contact name.  They rarely ever leave voice mail and if they do you will know who it is without having to listen because it will show the name of your contact.

they have called at least twice a day for weeks and never leave a message.  We never answer in hopes they will get tired of the unproductive robodialing.  I wish Verizon gave us the same option that the Google Voice user has

Guys... it's simple. Call the number back, listen to the recorded message. When you're prompted to continue the call, press 1. Then you'll be given the option to be put on the "do not call" list. Simple. Done.

Getting calls from this number twice a day everyday for the past month or so.  We have caller ID so I never pick up the phone thinking maybe they will leave a message but never did. This is very annoying so this morning I decided to answer it and the lady said it's from citibank offering identity theft protection.. She was very courteous but I told her I already have one and to not call me again and take my number off their list.  I then called citibank she is not familiar with that 800 number but told me that it might be one of their call centers which they have a few out there. So these calls are coming from telemarketers who citibank hires to sell their services.  Citibank also said to tell the telemarketers that I'm not interested and not to call again, which was what I did.  Hopefully these calls will now stop.

I got a call on my landline this afternoon about an hour ago and left no message. It said unprovided but judging from the comments above, the calls are said to be coming from Citibank. Since we don't use Citibank I don't know why they would be calling here. I believe these calls may be scams and I immediately block any numbers from callers I do not know.

I get calls from this number several times a day everyday for the last several days. From what I read hear it is coming from Citibank. If so, I don't think I can stop them from calling by complaining to the government. I think I will just have to cancel their credit card and then remind them that my phone is listed in the 'Do not Call' registry. I hope that will work and teach them a lesson too.

This was a Citibank related call.  I have a MasterCard through them.  They offered credit card protection and just kept talking.  I had to interupt to say, "not interested."  Citibank probably partners with them which allows them to bypass "Do Not Call List."  Check your privacy statement.  That's how they get around it.  Bummer . . .

Just having open heart surgery, I was not paying much attention to the beginning of the call. not until they started a recording of the call and asked me for the city of my birth, did I become concerned. I called customer service at citibank( the number on the back of my card) and was informed that no such call has it been made, or at least no record of the call has been made. I gave her the phone number plus the information that was given to me. she put me on hold to do research several times. if you was incredibly helpful in helping me get to the bottom of this... while I was on hold I decided to do a search of the number to see what kind of information I could come up with. needless to say I started freaking out. my rep then put me through to another division and found out the number indeed did belong to citibank and it was from the insurance or protection plus program. hey did talk about that package that would be coming in the mail however I was not smart enough to ask if by verifying that information I would be signed up so I need to call again.  My biggest concern was that I had given information to someone other than Citibank.  It was the first call I've received from them, but I've only had the credit card for a few weeks.  Hope that helps some of you.  At least it was who they said they were.  I'm always terrified if identity theft it any kind of fraud ans with all the pain, pain meds and everything else going on around here, I wasn't paying attention and would've gone crazy if I hadn't been able to verify the info.  I don't know how they can enroll or start charging me if they don't know all my credit card info and Hz except by doing a credit check.  I checked with my Experian acct and of course they've made inquiries but not since receiving my credit card.  I also have a Sears MC through Citibank and they have s similar program that I was kind of talked into but I already have protection so I cancelled.  I hope I don't start being harassed like so many of you.  Just glad there wasn't somebody trying to get my personal information!  Now I have to call back and make sure u wasn't signed IP before receiving said package!

This number calls every day and i mean EVERY SINGLE DAY at 6pm then at 8pm if they get no answer. They always ask for my room mate who is never home when they call. I asked them to stop calling and they continue doing so. I will be reporting them to the National Do Not Call registry.

I received several calls from this number, sometimes more than once in the same day.  No voice messages were left.

I looked up this number online and received mix results, but most stated the number belonged to Citibank.  I called the number back to confirm, and received the following automated message:

"Thank you for calling Citibank Credit Cards.  We were attempting to contact you with a marketing offer.  We will try to reach you again at a later time."

Here are instructions to add your phone number to the Citibank "Do Not Call List":

1. Call Citibank at 800-238-1085.  Your call will be answered with the automated message above.

2. Press 1 to continue with this call.

3. Enter your area code and phone number when prompted.

4. Press 1 when prompted to confirm your phone number is correct.

5. Press 1 when prompted with the option to add your number to Citbank Credit Card's do not call list.

The automated message advises it may take up to 30 days to process your request, so calls may continue until then.

I kept getting this number so I followed the advice of another complainant and called them back. It is CitiBank and they do let you put your number on their "do not call," list. I hope it works.

Thank god they have my google voice number and not my real cell number.  They have called at least once if not more times per day for almost a year now.  I have every single call logged in my google voice account.  I have them blocked so my phone doesn't ring when they call, it goes to a message that says that the number has been disconnected and is no longer in use.  Yet, they still call every day.  For a while i had them unblocked and would pick up the phone and scream as loud as I could.  That didn't work so they're blocked again.

If we all want to sue them I will provide my call logs.
