I receive a bogus call with a message every other day claiming to be AT&T. Offering money. Always a different amount, same garbled voice. From $100-$1000. I block the # then it takes 2 days to pop up with a new #. Today was this one. Everyone knows AT&T does not give away $1000 for simply logging into your account. Lol.

Vashti, I have ADT and my son came home from school and forgot to turn the alarm off. The siren starts blazing and then he realizes he needs to turn it off. Even though the correct pin # is entered, this system calls me, the account holder. If I am at work and do not notice my cellphone vibrating on my desk, the system automatically calls me back until I answer the phone, it does not leave a voicemail. It keeps trying to reach you until you answer. It is a recording stating that the alarm at my home was triggered but the correct pin number was entered and that is why I am getting a recording instead of a live person.
I don't understand why there are so many paranoid and crazy people out there. This # is not a scam to obtain your information. I just got this system installed so I did not recognize the 800 # myself until I saw that it was ADT and then I answered the phone. People, stop being so ignorant and stupid! Ohmygod! ADT is calling me, oh no! What should I do? Let me hide in my panic room and suck my thumb and assume the fetal position while rocking back and forth wearing my tinfoil hat. I'm guessing that the people commenting on here are adults....hopefully you crazy ones don't have children.

Adt automated message reminding us to test our system. My only qualm would be that their automated reminder comes from the same number as their genuine alarm notifications, but nothing less than pleased with their service and vigilance. They are always on top of things, calling within a minute of any trouble and always calling all necessary numbers on file to reach someone to handle the situation. I definitely feel safer thanks to them.

Ok, their legit. Alarm service

Received calls from this number twice in the past 2 weeks. Apparently the prior owner of my cell phone number (I have only had this number since March) never changed it with many of their friends and businesses, so I have received many calls as a result. I did call back and had this number removed from their list. It was ADT about an alarm going off. The address location was given--it is in Indiana.
I have had to get removed my number removed from these people's friends, prayer chain, doctor's and dentist's office and even NutriSystem delivery planned. Not a scam, just lazy prior owner of the number, who does appear to have moved to Indiana.

I got a called from ADT letting me know that the alarm went off at my mother's home. She was home and called the police to check around the home. Awesome ADT.
cindy 2013-10-07 23:34:53 Unknown
they said there was a problem with my alarm in a zone that i did not have. then asked me to punch my code into the alarm to reset. Now I wonder if they got my alarm code so we changed it

Sometimes people change phone numbers and sometimes they switch from a land line based alarm system to a cell guard system (which does not use a cell phone number to communicate with the monitoring center), and thus calls may end up going to an "old" number if the customer failed to update their contact phone number, thus why you may have gotten the call. Just let ADT know of the error - regardless of how it happened and they can then correct the problem.
For the record, I've never heard of ADT using telemarketers to sell systems, so it's highly unlikely they would ever call you from this number for that purpose. This is the number used by customers to communicate about their system, or for people wishing to purchase a system.

Relax people....
It's not a scam. This is the same number ADT has used for years (800-ADT-ASAP). They called me to let me know that my system didn't respond to the "ping" they send out monthly to verify the system is in fact monitoring the residence. I called back, talked to someone who helped rectify the problem and that was that. If you receive a call in error, simply call back and let them know of the mistake....they do happen from time to time, it's human beings who enter the data ya know and sometimes they have been known to make mistakes *shocker*!

I just got a call from ADT. I don't have an ADT system and I never heard of the person they were looking for. The problem isn't so much that I got an unnecessary call, as the fact that if I got the call, the right person didn't get it. I called them back and asking that my number be removed and they promised to do so and research what happened.

ADT. You should answer or call back.

After reading a handful of the comments, apparently this number is a scam. I've received three calls from them today and each time they leave a message about some alarm system having gone off twice and the authorities are on their way. I call B.S. If they were really calling about an emergency, they would be up to speed and know that 1) police were dispatched the last time they called (which I'm sure they weren't) 2) if I were an ADT customer, I would have given them more than just one number. Needless to say, they have been placed on my reject call list, so they can call all they want now....

I got a call at 12:58 am last night on my cell phone and it was from ADT. Why would they be calling me at 12:58. I don'[t even have ADT. It really made me mad and upset as my fiancé has a daughter that just was in a serious accident and is not expected to live. This phone call at this time of night scared me to death thinking she had died. I was not able to make it to the phone in time to answer it and no message was left.

ADT Home Security according to Peter, the caller. I was offered a complete home security system installed for free if I agreed to give him my credit card number. After the installation, I would pay $125. per month for the term of the 5 year contract to keep my home secure from breakins, home invasions, vandals, fire, water damage and other bad things that can really happen to my family. He told me that he knew that I have 6 children living at home, my mother-in-law. 2 Chihuahuas and a parrot. He described my house, has my address, work place, my California driver's license number, license plate ID (I have a vanity plate), and social security number. He read all of that information to me. I am frightened by this call. I can not sleep at night and call home during the day while I am at work to make sure that my family is safe.
He told me that I can expect my home to be invaded within the next 6 months, according to crime statistics in my area (San Diego). I asked him if he arranged for those people who turned down his offer to get broken into and he called me a "chicken s--- and slammed the phone in my ear.

Got a call from this number at 1am on a Saturday morning asking for the wrong person. I said wrong number and they asked who I was. Sounded sketchy.
G 2013-02-01 05:42:46 Unknown
They might have a limit on how many rings before they can hang up. Sometimes cell/home phones go more then 6 rings and hang up before VM. If this happened that is most likely what happened. If you dont have a system or business or friends with one. Then most likely they hand dialed your number and realized it was wrong number
Test 2013-02-01 05:40:36 Unknown
The test can be daily, weekly, monthly. All it really is your panel sending a signal to the receivers. This is checking to make sure communcation from panel to receiver is working. If it comes back as not working this means either phone issues. If you have a system not using a phone line but wireless then something with the system.
... 2013-02-01 05:36:10 Unknown
Dude really. If it is customer service issues. You can only reach main office during business hours. If you have issues after hours you can call the monitoring center and ask for tech support. Depending on the issues you may or may not receive help.
Lol 2013-02-01 05:31:48 Unknown
Your an idiot. You been contact for 11 years you should know the process of when they call you. Also it is very hard for someone to get your information about your security system. The monitoring centers are very secure. Well mine is at least and its not ADT
Vashti 2013-01-29 21:52:59 Telemarketer
This is absolutely a scam. Otherwise, why wouldn't they leave a message? I have nothing to do with these people, and yet they call me regularly. I never answer, and they never leave message. Hmmm.....
Jim 2013-01-14 01:33:18 Unknown
It appears to be ADT, you can not understand the person on the phone, I asked for any who spoke english and was advised that I offended them. ADT could at least hire someone who can be understood on the phone.

1-800-238-2727 is 1-800-ADT-ASAP...if you see the letter E on your 2 and the letter A on your 3 you need a new phone or glasses.
