Even though I have the number blocked they still keep calling every five minutes. One time they left a message about a debt and I don't owe anything. If this keeps up I will get my attorney in on this.

Just adding, also, that a debt cannot be collected [The Statute of Limitations] after [so many] years. Check with your state. Usually somewhere between 6 to 10 years.

So, due to statute of limitations, they can no longer collect on it. If a business is trying/has tried to collect on an old debt, they should be reported to the FTC. [ftc.gov]

The lady was a total biotch I dont tell anyone anything until they tell me what it is about it is my phone. So, this meany told me if I didn't confirm who I was she would have to call back and leave a message...boy what a threat. I'm so scared.  The number was 800-239-6043. Her 'hello" even sounded cranky.  She should take a page from the guys book I think in Texas that runs a debt collection agency that has only nice people working their. Athough, I really don't know what the phone call was about we didn't get past "who are u well what do you want." But, if she was calling from something like that she needs to remove the lemons from her mouth. Maybe I would be cranky if i did that for a living but, you get more bees with honey and I thought debt collectors made a commission on what they collected so if they would be nice they would make more money.

called today, would not give any information other than saying they were NIF - a debt collector. When I called back (because missed call) that's were I heard an automatic say NIF debt collector.. someone then said "info, give me all your info. I said "no, who is this?" they said, "give me all your information"

I hung up. Placed on block and they haven't called back yet.

Unprofessional. And a swing out in left field, but I'm going to say scammers. On top of all that, I don't even have any debts! I pay in full! (other than the usual, electric, water..food) so they're just calling around, like usual, to find fish ...hopefully, not many, took the bait.

i have a missed call from this number - they left no message.  I called it from work and it was a recording stating that it was "M.A.S." a debt collector - I have no past-due bills whatsoever, so I am ticked off that they would call me like this.  There ought to be a law against this!!!!  :-(

I received a call from this agency today.  They are trying to collect a debt, from a medical service provided, that isn't in their office.  I receive monthly statements from the Dr.'s office reflecting my balance, each month, after payment.  I offered to send her copies of cancelled checks, along with the statement, to provide proof that the account IS being paid.  She refused to accept and threated with legal collections....over what is now less than $300.00.  She was rude as hell.  Screw her!  I have contacted the office manager from my doc's office.  Y'all think I should hold my breath for a call apoligizing and admitting mistake??  I didn't think so.

Another method I use is to tell them that providing information to someone over the telephone is a billable service and my fee for that is $75.00 per half a minute and $125/min thereafter to be scheduled and paid in advance. I also tell the WalMart receipt checker at the exit door the same thing- $75 for "Receipt Viewing Service" for items that now belong to me. I stand my ground and they always back down. Try it!

Received two calls in two days from this number. The woman leaving the message, "Miss Smith", had a very nasty attitude and was very demanding. In short she was a real b***h.

Because her message was so rude and abrupt I refuse to return the call.

Caller ID shows 251-476-6666, her message says to return the call to 800-239-6043.

Mrs. Brown is the person who called and left a voicemail on my phone.  I called her back and asked what she was calling about and she said that I had a bill in collections and she was calling to give me one last time to pay it.  She refused to send a statement out to me for the money I supposedly owed and proceeded to tell me that Medicaid did not cover the ultrasound that I had done after finding out I was pregnant.  According to Mrs. Brown, who is obviously NOT intelligent, Medicaid only covers postpartum ultrasounds.  I've yet to figure out why on God's earth I would have an ultrasound postpartum, but I'm sure Mrs. Brown could tell me should I feel the need to call her back.  I then called and spoke with Mrs. Byrd about Mrs. Brown's attitude and Mrs. Byrd is another intelligent one.  Needless to say, that bill will NOT be paid even if just simply on account of M.A.S.'s employees' lack of intelligence, common sense, and courtesy.

I just got a message from Ms. Brown saying: "This is Ms. Brown, Andrew, call me at 800-239-6043 ext 103" and the missed call was from (251) 476-6666.  She sounded like a probation officer. I cant wait to call her back tomorrow and see how very nice her attitude is. Yeah I know it is just a job for Ms. Brown, Ms. Smith and Ms. Moore but give me a break. Being nasty to a person on the phone who owes you money isnt a very good strategy to recover the debt. I actually refuse to make payment arrangements with that particular phone operator. I will just wait until a nice person calls and let them make a commission of me paying my outstanding debts. Screw the mean people and the companies that endures this behavior.

I recieved a phone call today regarding "MAS", telephone number 251-476-6666.  I was confronted by a "Miss Jones", and was severely treated with an audacious and rude attitude.  I was informed of a medical bill that has been paid in full by my insurance company, however, "MAS" attempted at "collecting" $114 from me.  I was informed that, "this is your last chance to pay your bill before we take legal matters.  I informed "Miss Jones", that I will recieve my income tax at the end of the month, and should such an outstanding medical bill warrant, after careful file and fact checking; a payment it would be made then.  I was informed that, "that is not how this is going to work!".  I happen to work in collections myself, and with first-hand knowledge, that a certain level of professionalism must be maintained.  I was treated like a second-class citizen by a women who did not have the common decency to allow me to finish my sentence.  I have never, and will never again, acknowledge this company or their employees again.  Minutes after recieving this telephone call, I placed a call to my own attorney; who attempted at calling "MAS" on my behalf.  They were curt, obnoxious, and downright henious to an individual that could have facilitated a mutal and  prompt payment.  The following is my sole opinion:

  To "Miss Jones":
I, also being in the collection field, understand that sometimes it takes a bit of "bare knuckles" to have a client pay their outstanding bill.  You, however, have no tact, sensability, and the common understanding to warrant sharing the same oxygen as most human beings.  I understand that it is merely a job, and you are doing just that....your job, however, your methods are pre-historic, demeaning, and remind me of a mobster's loan shark.  I ask you, "Miss Jones", in your quest to dominate the field of collections, do you remove the dishes from the sink before you piss in it?  You should be ashamed of yourself, and the tone of voice that you so specifically choose to utlize to a potential delinquent debtor.  I say, shame on you!

If they refuse to provide you with as paper statement do not pay them.  Do not give them a credit card, debit card, or any banking information at all.  Try to find out what doctor or medical facility placed you in collections and then give them a call.  They will usually make a payment arrangement with you and you can by pass the collection people.  You can also obtain a free copy of your credit report and see if they are listed on the report.
I have had companies like this threaten to have me arrested if I did not pay them right then and there.  Do they think the public is that stupid.  You can not be arrested for debit.
Watch out for the companies, they often buy a list of very old debits going back 10 years plus and will pull every scam on you to get you to pay.  If it is not current on your credit report do not pay any of these companies.
