made three attempts to call per coin opperationthe phone ate my money and no connect. then made a collect call that charged 47.96 for a 20 minute phone call except they charge for your "wait" time while they're getting information from recieving party then as soon as your connected with no mention of the rate it drops the call after "Hello" !!! did call FCC have a complaint filed but still have to pay until investigation is compleat ??? really they can't do what everyone on here did and see the disturbing history of this "legitament" Business ??

Billed $22.37 for "collect call" which was never completed.  When contacted, cticollectcall 1800 2413965 identified call record but then asked ME how much was billed.

I demand 100% return of this theft  Have filed a complaint through my bank, cticollectcall has my card number so what more will they extort. Minnesota Attorney General contacted for this fraud and extortion;  MN AG is tough on these shams.

Also contacted Kalispell Glacier Airport to report vendor extortion; airport needs to take responsibility for their vendor actions--get fees from these vendors.   Never use a public phone!

I received a collect call from someone and before I accepted the call, I listened for the rates disclosure and it didn't give them so I refused the call.  The party called me back and I thought maybe after I enter my card number they would disclose the rates or after the other party hung up and the system totalled the minutes.  That never happened.  I received my card statement today with a charge of $26.24.  I did some searching and found CTI's website: www.customteleconnact.com and called 866-898-5880 and got right thru to a live person.  I was very polite and respectful but I was very firm on the non-disclosure of rates that is manditory by the state regulations.  On the website's main page you can click on tarriffs.net and see a rate disclosure list and my charges are no where near correct.  The customer service/surpervisor that I spoke with refunded 40% of my charges.  It is not all that I hoped for but is better than nothing.  Be sure to mention section 2.19.5 in the companies rules and regulations and a complaint to the BBB, FCC and Attorney General!

I went to a pay phone in the next town over to call my son and boss, the power was out here because of the hurricane and I wanted them to know I was alive.  I tried to put in quarters but the operator said it was c.c. only, left a message on my sons cell phone and talked to my boss for 2 mins. $28.16 per call!!!! I called CTI and the girl there said I should have used quarters, c.c. calls were expensive. I told her what happened and she even listened to a recording of the operator 4 days earlier telling me I COULD NOT USE QUARTERS!!! offered me 35% discount, bull*@it, I'm gonna dog them till $23.00 back on both calls.

After an exhausting transpacific flight to Portland OR, and of course with no US mobile phone, I must use the airport pay phones.  But no one attends them, because of course everybody now carries their own mobile, so their ability to take money doesn't work.  I used my credit card, but it didn't succeed either.  So i kept trying.  I gave up and begged a traveller to let me use his mobile. Now I find that my credit card was billed,
 US$21.04
 US$17.59
for calls that never went through.  Reading thru the other posts, no, i am not going to stay up in the middle of the night in HK to call a number in the US, and argue for an hour.  Which of course is what this scumbag of a company is counting on.  A ripoff, for sure.

I had the same problem, son called me from a pay phone from the courthouse I accept it and they charged my debit card with $29.80 for 10 minutes.  I called the 1 800 number with no results.  Something must be done to stop this rip off.

This company is the worst collect call company that exists.  When I received an emergency call from a friend via pay phone, the automated system never told me the company's full name or contact information.  It also never gave me any indication of potential charges.  I had to accept the calls from my friend because it was an emergency.
I couldn't find the company on the internet because all I had was initials.  The only way I was able to contact them was by getting their number from my bank after the charge went through.  Of course, when I had the opportunity to call, I reached the recording that said they only accepted calls before 5:00 pm on weekdays.  Real businesses offer real customer service.  With the amount of money CTI is making off of phone calls, they could afford to have someone handling customer service calls in the evenings and on weekends - if they really wanted to do so.  Apparently, customers are not their number one priority.
Places like this only continue to thrive because they provide a necessary service that we can't afford to boycott.  CTI is unprofessional and an embarassment to its industry.  If anyone in higher management had any business ethics, they would read and listen to the complaints being given and do a thorough overhaul of their system.

I have three charges from this Cti company it says for collect calls, I had called to dispute it once and talked to someone named Ryan. I asked to speak to a supervisor but he said he would need my credit card info. My card was stolen and used so did not have info but if did I would not give it to anyone over the phone. I reported to bank EECU and nothing was done. Called company again today talked to someone named Cynthia #3008 told I had talked to a Ryan there before said there is no Ryan that worked there asked to talk to a supervisor all in a meeting. I asked for their location she gave me the address 2526 82nd st Lubbock Texas 79423. Looked up that address on internet called the number of someone at that address and there is no CTI company in that building at all. They also gave me a fax number of 8066878642.

A close friend is in a rehab program and used a credit card to call me on several occassions.  The first post to the account comes through as a $5.00 preauthorization.  As we talked for 30 mins, we both thought that was a pretty reasonable rate.  It is an instate call we are within an hour drive of eachother.  However, when I went back online today to check the account, there is now a charge for $63.00.  We have talked on four different occasions.  I am betting that the calls end up costing us over $200.  I am going to go to my bank and try to stop the payments tomorrow.  I am not sure it will do any good.  Then I am going to get a calling card though a major telecommunications company.  By the way, there was no mention of any sort of charge to my friend who used the credit card.  Seems so wrong!  I will try and file complaints with all the agencies that have been mentioned through the posts, but it will take me awhile to find the time.

I was charged $42.84 for trying to make two separate calls which didn't even connect.  I could hear the person I called, but they could not hear me.  Each call was less than a minute long.  I was able to get them on the line pretty quickly using 1-800-672-9080 and said that since they didn't connect I would receive a refund in 7-10 days.  I am now going to file a complaint with the FCC and the BBB.  I have already called the lodge where I was staying and informed them.  They are going to remove the stickers from the pay phone that advertise CTI.  I advise everyone who was ripped off by them to contact the FCC and BBB.

MY ADVICE TO YOU IS BELOW.
I too was a victim. CTI charged me $37.72 for a local 1 1/2 minute call.
I called my credit card company and told them that I would like to make a dispute against CTI for NOT disclosing to me all the charges and additional fees before I excepted a reverse charge call from my friend. My credit card company said that in their experience, CTI and other reverse charge companies do not have to disclose any charges before you except calls and they are allowed to charge as much as they want to for their services.
My credit card company DID give me the maximum curtousy refund of $15.00 though, so I felt a little better. Please do the same and dispute it with your credit card co. A part refund is better than none at all. And at least we know better for in the future, we learn by our misfortunes. It is terrible that these people rip us off for outrageous fees but there are a lot of sharks out there and we don't have to take it lying down.

The State of Iowa had a case against CTI in 2007.  They are professional crooks who mak a mockery of State regulation of utilities - when one state shuts them down they hop over to another jurisdiciton.  It will take Federal action to close CTI.  However, these people know that is coming, so they already have other companies and merchant accounts ready to keep stealing from consumers.  The principals need to be locked up and all of their assets seized.
