To me, this sounds like nothing more than a phising attack to obtain my personal information. The first question was to verify my name. OK. It's me. Her next question was "Verify your date of birth and last 4 of your Social". Yeah, right. Like I'm giving that out over the phone to someone. Their line about debt collection to some folks sounds like a ruse. Don't give out your personal information just because you think it will get to the bottom of why they are calling. I don't care if they say I owe someone money. I would have gotten a letter from the party long before this. Tell them you're on to them and hang up.

The 800-242-6813 called my phone 20 times today; no vm and literally 20 missed calls over 4 hours while I was getting a treatment at the hospital!  Pursuing further action as this is more than excessive especially when no one is able to clarify who this company is.

I get several calls a day from this number. My son has credit card debt and has not been able to find work for over 3 years. Obviously he cannot pay down debt. What is extremely frustrating is the number they call is my number. He does not have a phone. It should be against the law to constantly harass parents for their children's debt.

You're nothing but a shill working for Medicredit, I have you do***ebags calling me for supposedly a bill that my wife owes.  We don't owe anybody a dime for anything, yet you knuckeheads continue to call and leave messages for my wife to call you back.  Guess what, she won't because whenever I get your voicemail with your robotic voice that mispronounces our name, I delete your message and go on.  With all the medical fraud that jerks like you foist on Americans, you're the ones bringing the economy down.  A suggestion to the good people out there, don't take a call from these frauds, when you see the number come up on caller ID pick up the phone and hang it back up.  You more than likely don't owe these frauds anything, they're just trying to shake you down.  If you think you might owe your doctor, lab, or hospital and need to pay the bill, call your medical service provider and ask, don't pay these criminals.  They buy lists of either slow paying accounts or accounts that were paid in full but never taken off the books.  If you pay them, you're money will be going into their fraudulent coffers and you'll never get a dime back from them.  Often times, "Ms. Jones" is some fraud who can't get a real job because she's an ogre and has been fired for being rude to every person she comes in contact with, so some boilerroom like Medicredit (yeah they sound legit but most likely aren't) hires them because of their ability to treat people like dung and not feel bad about it.  Just ignore them, they will go away because what they are calling you about is to see if they can hook a sucker.  People like "Ms. Jones" are crooks and crooks deserve to starve.

They are only legally allowed to call between the hours of 8am to 9pm and in Colorado only a max of 8 times a day. The auto calls are only illegal if they are leaving voicemails on your cellphone without concent. Sue them. Most collections lawyers work off of the winnings. The laws have updated but calling on expired debts is still illegal. The problem there becomes that its 7 years from the last activity, not since the debt.   You really should talk to a lawyer. I have sued several of these b*****ds for breaking the law and won. the money received is a pittance, but these people do the illegal stuff because they get away from it. Consider it a punishment for knowingly breaking the law.

Really the request to stop calling at work should be done in writing and sent certified mail so that you can confirm that they received it. This will help if they continue and . Also you should document every time that they call; the date and time and the sudonym that they are using.

You can find most of the address of the major collectors here: stopcollector.com/collection-agency.php

The company is Medicredit, they collect on unpaid medical bills. I just got a call from them, didn't answer, checked the number then called back. I spoke with a very helpful and polite lady who explained what I owed and to whom. To my knowledge I have paid all outstanding bills that I have received, so I requested paper copies of bills for anything I owed to check against what I have paid. I'm assured they are on the way.

Here's the thing, if these guys are calling you, it's because you have an unpaid bill. If someone has made a mistake and you don't really owe anything, you need to address that before your credit takes a hit. You can complain all you like, but that's the reality - if you don't pay your bills, they'll do everything within their power to make you, or mark your credit report.

For the record, I detest the US healthcare system. It's a national disgrace, but that isn't the point. Until the system changes here, you have to pay your bills. Do not ignore a call from this number.

Not everybody is a low life, as you are so quick to judge folks!  We are in debt because of government spending and not just because people can't or don't pay their bills. Things happen and before you go throwing stones, we all live in glass houses! Get tour facts straight before you are going to ASSume, that everyone Gshould be so perfect like you!

Hay Got a Call: This is for you( You work for the company so of course you would say to call this Medicredit and I don't think people are avoiding this company because they don't wan't to pay their bills,It's the way the calls are done,it seems like it is some kind of scam.If in fact this really is  the Medicredit collections calling from this number, why are people not doing their job right when makeing call's, and why bother some one at work if they lose their job they can't pay anything think about it.

Every time you speak to a debt collector you are at risk of restarting the time limit in which the debt is still collectable.

Agreed. Don't give out your info if you're suspicious about the call, have THEM give you some info first. Never act on a random voice without verifying. I will also supplicate that you should hear what they have to say because it MAY be important... I.E: Don't automatically hang up because you think they're a scam or a solicitor, Hear them out and THEN decide what you think you should do.

Yeah that is b***s*** they called you twice. But since they got a new phone system set up that won't ever happen again. i'm just taking a potshot in the dark by saying they are probably calling YOU because even though it MAY be paid in full with the original creditor that they need proof of this I.E. RECEIPT.
