TXU - Legit call

I'm finding that IF I shut off my voice mail when I see a number I don't recognize, they SOON stop calling. This is the first call I've received from this caller, but I see it's telemarketing so I sure won't answer it! Answering just assures them it IS a working number and they WILL continue calling. I'm ON the DNC list, but doesn't seem to work much in this day and age.

Freaking idiots called me at 11:43 thursday night. I have never used them and I've had the same number for 10 years. WTF are they thinking?

Hi everybody. I work for TXU and the way the dialing system works is they have numbers on a list. If you get a new number or if at some point in TXU's history they've had that number on file they will call asking to renew your contract or get back with them. If they do not hear an answer they will disposition the call as "no contact, no answer" and then it gets thrown back to the bottom of the list. We do not mean to call people deliberately, it's just the way the dialing system works. They only way I know how to stop the calls is to answer the phone, politely tell the representative that the number is wrong and you would like to be put on the Do Not Call list. Mind you it takes up to 30 days for the number to be completely out of the system. If that doesn't work then I don't know what will. Working for a call center has made me more apathetic for those calling people. They personally aren't doing it and they're just trying to work a job.

I get these several times a month, always with someone elses account name... but never the same name more than once or twice. I see the number on caller ID and don't pick up now, but most of the time it trips the answering machine and that is when I get the customer's name. Have tried to call back a couple of times to complain but it keeps up.

You need to get in touch with management at TXU.  If your phone # is accidentally attached to another person's account they CAN remove it and they are REQUIRED to remove it.  They should be able to find this other account by the phone # and verify that it is NOT you.  You do NOT need to provide info on that account because of course you will not have it.  Threaten to sue them under FTC and FDCPA regulations which require they not contact you if you do not have a business relationship with them.  It's $10,000 per violation by the way.   You can reach them at

TXU keeps calling me and leaving these automated voices telling me all sorts of stuff about my account,billing and other annoying things.I don't have any business and/or connection with TXU whatsoever and when I call them to tell them this they tell me someone has my number listed on there account and that they can't remove it because I don't have the account information. Uggghh... Then they ask me for the last 4 digits of my social and they tell me it doesn't match the account's. STOP CALLING ME TXU!!!

They called 4 times yesterday.

from TXU.... called me TWICE in span of thirty minutes. funny, since i never even contacted them about anything.

Apparently, it's ok for TXU to keep calling me & harrassing me even though I do not use TXU.  They have my # attached to an account of one of their account holders & they refuse to remove my #.  H-A-R-R-A-S-SM-E-N-T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
