And the BEST part of all of this is...YOUR GOVERNMENT is doing NOTHING about these guys.  I'm a long time Republican, however NO ONE in EITHER party is, or ever will do anything about these sorry scumbags.

Digital message saying that a credit union that I do not have an account with had been deactivated.  Told me to push #1 or call back to 1-800-245-9655.  I didn't do either.  Glad I checked this out.

Got a call tonight from (602) 708 6912.  It left a poorly computer recorded message to call 800 245 9655.

I obviously will not reply to the call.

Digital message saying due to computer error my Bank of America account had been temporarily deactivated. When I pushed #1, they asked for a social security number.  They said to call back on this number: 1.800.245.9655

My wife and I both received calls from a credit union we don't have anything to do with on our prepaid phones,,,,,I called the number but of course the company was not open yet,,,,,another thing that I find interesting is that our numbers are on the national do not call list, so I'm thinking that this is where they're getting the numbers to call.

We're on a family plan with tmobile and all 4 of us received this call. As stated above from a credit union, computer voice sounded like it was dying; it was glitchy and sounded like it was edited from some other recording.
Maybe calling from Nigeria has that effect....

Wow wonder where they obtained such a large cell telephone list from??? Whose computer was hacked to obtained these numbers?

Called saying they were from a credit union .. but I don't have money in *any* credit union.  They called my cell phone, which is on the national do not call list.  I think they said something like Sun First Bank

Caller ID was blocked

The voice was a computerized text-to-speach voice, no human at all.  Said to press 1 to connect to their reactivation service.  I wouldn't be surprised if someone just generated a list of common bank terms (First, New, Trust, etc) and randomly generated scripts for the computer to speak.

I got a call on a work phone claiming to be Weld County Schools Credit Union.  I don't have an account there and I never give the number out to anyone outside of work.  It has to be a scam.  How can these people get away with this for so long?

I received a call on my cell from 678-916-0697 with a recording saying that my Mountain America Credit Union debit card had billing errors and a hold had been put on my card.  It told me to call 1-800-245-9655 to have it restored.  I went to the MACU website and searched for the number to see if it was legit, and of course the number wasn't anywhere on their site.  Since I don't have a MACU account (although I used to), it seemed suspicious.  I googled the 1-800-245-9655 number and found this site.

Called about debit card being blocked form Bank of Nevada.  Funny there is no Bank of Nevada.  You guys are idiots.  I am reporting them to the attorney general in the morning.  I left another report for the number that came up on ID 1-516-596-1011.  Hope this helps others from being scammed, it seem the word is getting out there but not enough if they are still sending this voice message.

Scam still going strong!  I received the call today on my cell phone.  It was a pre-recorded message stating my Bank of Nevada card was temporarily blocked due to a technical failure / billing error.  I don't bank with Bank of Nevada and did not press one or two.  Call comes in as unknown, which is another red flag.

Same thing as all of the others...St Vrain Valley Credit Union call by an automated voice asking me to do as others have been instructed.

I see a pattern here. Lots of credit unions. Why is that? I think these people have some sort of connection to a list of information about teachers or some sort of union association. Obviously most everyone here does NOT have a card with the credit unions, so it must be coming from another source. I don't have a card either.

I can honestly see how someone can get fooled by this (especially someone who is trusting) but PLEASE don't give your social to these people. They should be shut down.

Same as above...supposedly from St. Vrain Valley Credit Union, with whom I've never had an account.  I figured I'd do my research on-line before responding...my first thoughts were identity theft.  But now I know it's merely another phishing scam.
As stated above, I sure hope everybody else out there is as savvy and that they don't get "taken" by these thieves!
I'll do my best to report this call to the authorities and will maybe report back to the web-page here.

I received this same call telling me my St. Vrain Valley Credit Union debit card had been deactivated and that I needed to call 800-245-9655 or press 1.  I've never had a St Vrain Valley Credit Union anything.  I know that our local newspaper has warned about this scam going on and the police are fully aware.  What I can't believe is how this is somehow difficult to trace back to owners so that proper arrests can be made.  Someone must own 303-222-7101.  How can't law enforcement stop this?

Got the same sort of call at 9:00 PM last night, a computer-generated woman's voice saying there was a "blockage" on my debit card with the Davis Federal Credit Union, which I knew wasn't true because a) we have no such card; b) there is no such credit union; c) security departments don't make business calls at 9PM.  Erased it from our answering machine, end of story.  It's interesting that they're still staying faithful to that same 800 phone number after all these months.

Call was an electronic voice saying it was a call from "St Vrain Valley Credit Union.  We regret to inform you that there is a technical error on your debit card due to billing errors that has produced a blockage..." [Really!?! That alone is enough to realize it's fake.] It goes on to ask us to call an 800 number or press 1 now to "talk to our Security Department."  Funny thing is, we're both teachers, but we don't have an account--much less a card--with the District's Credit Union.

I have several times received a call from 914-290-4089 with an automated message telling me that my St. Vrain Credit Union debit card has been compromised - same deal, call 1-800-245-9655 or press 1 if you want to reach the security dept.  Press 1 to reactivate the card and 2 to hang up.  Didn't get any further than that, but if you stay on the line, they repeat the message.

Startled me the first time, because I actually used to have an account with a credit union in that area when I was a kid, though I don't remember exactly which one.

Just received an automated call saying that a debit card issued by River Valley Credit Union had been deactivated, etc, just like many of these reports have said.  We don't have such a card.  I didn't push 1 or dial back.  Just came to my computer to do a reverse lookup on the number and found this site.  I hope nobody gets stung by this scammer.

Got the same call (voice mail message) and was told card had been compromised. I know the protocol my credit union uses when cards are compromised and this was not it.  I didn't call back. Instead, I looked up the number and found this site.  I agree that this is a scam

Just got an "Unknown" caller that was an automated response saying my debit card had been deactivated for billing errors and to press 1 to reactivate.  It did actually use my bank name. It's 10 pm at night, so I hung up.  I will call my bank in the morning to make sure my card hasn't been compromised.  Let's get the word out!  In these economic times no one needs to be taken advantage of by these scammers!

I just got this call as well. I congratulate those of us who have enough sense to hang up or research it before acting.

My call was also automated, and said that my "United States Bank debit card was temporarily deactivated". I don't think United States Bank is even a real bank name.  And I don't have a US bank card...When the call appeared on my cell phone, it read caller unknown, but told me to call the following number or dial one to reach the security office.

Nice Try! I hope they find you and lock you away!.

I received a call from this number on my GrandCentral / Google Voice number.  It claimed something about a block on my debit card with Schlumberger Employee Credit Union.  Since I have never worked for Schlumberger and I didn't even know that they had a credit union, I figured it was some sort of scam and as such, did not return the call.  I have since learned that Schlumberger does in fact have a credit union, but I'm still pretty sure that it is some sort of phishing scam.  The people responsible for this sort of thing should be drawn and quartered.  If we do this a few times in public, maybe the rest of the scumbags will think twice before trying it.

I work for a small company and received a call from 951-847-7803 with a voice recording informing me that someones card had been frozen because the card has been overdrawn from Saco Valley Credit Union (which is a local Bank of ours). They told me to either call 800-245-9655, or press 1 to speak to security or press 2 to reactivate it. So I pressed 1 and It told me to call the 1-800-245-9655 number.  So I did and it belongs to an actual credit union in Atlanta, GA.  She told me it was actually a scam and dont do anything!  I called *69 on the line they called in on and the number was 951-847-7803.  I called it back and it was a recording saying "The number you have dialed is unallocated."  So good luck people and NEVER give out your social security number!!!
ps...Nobody at my company had a Saco Valley Credit Union Card!
Thanks!
