Has anyone actually received a summons from Foster & Garbus? I've been doing research after research on these crooks. They don't seem to deal fairly. I did receive a summons and now i am trying to figure out my next step. Not sure if this is a scare tactic but i do not what a judgment against me. I have been struggling financially and haven't been able to pay my debt because i am classified as a poor person but they expect me to come up with a huge amount of money. its either i survive and put food on the table or give them all my money.... what a nightmare.

foster and garbus  is the people behind this number..they are are a low bucket collection agency. they try to skim money from anybody they can. my son owed a debt of 35 dollars to a credit card company that was sent to his college he never got the bill as he had graduated . they now call me everyday 3 or 4 times a day saying that i owe the debt which is now 900+ dollars. they can keep calling as i will not pay one penny of this. so waste your time it does not bother me

What is all the HoopLa about Jason Shear? He does take cases on contingency but he charges excessive fees. In Buffalo, NY contingency lawyers are not in the Grivence Committee jurisdiction. Therefore, if you have a problem with attorney fees that may be excessive fees, this lawyer can take more of your money and nothing can be done. I would be real careful of any retainer fees on contingency. He also worked as a lawyer for the Giove Law Firm in the past, he seems to move around alot.  

This number has been calling me everyday for a month. The only day they did not call was Christmas and New Years.
They claim I owe money on a credit card for $3,600 and they are a debt collector. The only thing is, I was already taken to court and this lawsuit was dismissed because it is time barred. Now they call me constantly trying to collect this debt.
What a piece of @#$% company. Has anyone else had this problem?

calls repeatedly by machine asking for someone who had this number over a year ago before we moved in (not anyone in my household).  When you press the button saying you want to talk to to a live person they disconnect

i will never answer your call, i have tried to black your number but somehow you always get through, i do not have a debt of any kind, stop wasting your time and stop calling

they can not call before 9am...read up on it...9 am

Called my home 4 times in 4 hours. No message, just noise beeps etc. Called ID is "UNAVAILABLE". So am I. Also I don't owe money to anyone.

Even if you your have paid off your account, they still call and try to get a second bite. These are Gorilla tactics and frowned on by the FTC, FCC and the nature of the law in the Fair Credit Act. As fair as phone calls go, they can call you between 8AM till 9PM, but only on your landline, never on your cell or at work. I read up on this particular article and found that if you are on a ID Theft list, they must leave you alone all together. I have letters from the IRS and the FBI proving my theft.

i get calls from them every day even though i asked them not to call me and that i do not have a debts never did and still do not and they just keep calling and harassing me, how can i stop them

They called me and said it was regarding my court filling. This is total b***s*** and don't call my number anymore. I will be reporting this to all and any department I can.

These ppl have been calling for some time. I've recieved summons which I answered. I get letters from them also. They know I am unemployed and they also know I am filing bk   I am going to file a harassment FTC. I believe. I don't have anything to say to these people. They don't understand that I'm unemployed. I am for now going to record their conversations. If they can so can I.

Well, with all due respect, there are different people everywhere. You cant call everyone b*****d coz of one. And for your knowledge, leaving messages on your machine is not illegal, Forster and Garbus is a law firm. They know there job well, and also with no intentions to bring down any citizen of USA. If you have some, unresolved queries kindly talk to them, let them know your intentions and they would work with you.

I have been receiving calls from Foster & Garbus (?) two to three times a day.  They are all the same message, Personal and confidential message...  They mention the account and the amount owed.  It makes me laugh - if this was so "PERSONAL AND CONFIDENTIAL",  why leave such a detailed message if you're not even confirming you have the correct person?  The bill they are calling on is a true debt, on a Target Visa.  The problem is, my account is still open, I am making my payments, and I'm not overdue.  I also received a letter stating if I paid $3000, they would consider this debt closed.  If I had $3000, do you really think I would consider keeping a credit card debt with an interest rate of 22%??  They call at home and on my cell.  It's never ending.  I have spoken to the folks at Target Visa, and they can't explain why I'm receiving these calls!  As someone mentioned before, speak with the customer service at the number on your statement - do not talk to these ba$tards!!  They are rude and I don't trust them!
