They keep calling me!  They say they are a Magazine Company and they want new information such as your current credit card, address, secondary phone number and more.  DO NOT give them information.  If you for some reason do, check your credit card for any purchases such as a $5.00 charge.  They will also try to contact you through other numbers so be careful.  I am also on the Do Not Call List!

They call their company Publisher's Magazine or Central Periodical Services.

Here are other numbers to worry about:
260-918-2743 (recently called me and I did not answer)
888-299-7302 (he said it was their customer service)
734-388-3409 (the number that called me and kept calling me after I hung up)
800-247-0036 (the number attached to the $5 charge on credit card)

When they say "There's nothing I can do, we can't cancel it," get real mean. Threaten to report them to the Better Business Bureau, FTC, call an attorney, etc and they change their tune real fast. And then when they cancel it make sure you tell them to put you on their internal Do Not Call list.

When I got my credit card bill this month I found a charge for over a thousand dollars for magazines, how stupid.  Who in their right mind would authorize this.  When I called the number on the bill they said I had been recorded giving authorization to purchase.  I said I never gave any authorization to put a charge of a thousand dollars on my card.  They said my account had been charged , paid, and closed and nothing they could do I told them there was plenty I could do.  So, now I am getting charge off card and I have to notify my bank because they got a hold of my bank info also.  What a mess.  I don't know how they got all my info but they did.

Started receiving tons of magazines and saw my credit card being charged for something I never signed up for.  Is there anyway to get rid of these charges?

This company is a scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I didn't order any magazines and surely had not received any.... I first noticed a charge in April 2013, so I called.... they stated...I ordered some magazine...........I'm like no...so I went thru this hold song and dance...and cancelled the account........... Now it May and they charged my account again............... this is really sad................I had to cancel my bank card...and file a claim with my bank..............  Some people will do anything for a buck !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same thing happened to me. They lied and told me they had my name, address, and CC # associated with an account that was receiving magazines and had to be canceled. They needed personal information to "verify the account" and stop auto renewal. They made up a big story saying that they needed me to say "YES" clearly to everything they asked on a recording with the exception of "NO" to auto renewal so they could put the two recordings (the first one they claimed to have but don't, and the new one they made me record) in order to STOP being charged. She talked so fast I could hardly understand what she was saying. I filed a complaint with the FTC and am still waiting for a fraudulent charge to be removed from my account after calling and complaining. If it doesn't come off in the next day or so I am calling my bank to get the charge refunded and cancelling my card. I don't know how these people can live with themselves knowing they are lying to and tricking people to commit fraud.

they just called me from this number while I was driving, what a a***ole he is telling me that I own money to them and my service was never cancelled. The recording was no good and the person taking the cancellation made a mistake. After arguing for 5 min with them I told them i will show them proof and he keeps telling me that I only cancelled the renewal but not the service. When I was yelling at them telling that I want pay anything he gets so unprofessional and yo's me the all time, so I said I am gone put complain on them and show the proof, he hangs up never calls back, ITS A BIG SCAM DON'T GIVE THEM ANY INFO.

I removed my renewal apparently but he said that when he asks about the 59.90 charge today to say yes because it's just over-writing the same questions that were asked before... wtf

I received no phone call. I agreed to nothing. And they charged my debit card. The phone number, according to Verizon is NOT VALID. A charge-back has been issued through my bank and I'm filing a complaint with the FTC.

You say they're called Central Periodical Services? I called these people today, and the name of the company is Publishers Magazines! This just proves that they're fake if they're going by multiple names. I signed up with what I thought was one magazine service, only to find out I'm signed up with 7! When the hell did this happen?!

They are a fraudulent company called Central Periodical Services. It's a scam to get your information. They make you think they are with a real company, but they are not. They already have information about you, don't know how they get it. They also ask you to verify the information and say your protected from fraud but it's all a lie. Don't believe a word they say, hang up and cancel your card if they mention they have the last for digits of it. It's all a SCAM

These people sell magazines. They hook you in by asking if you are recieving the magazine you ordered. (Whether you order one or not) Then they get a whole bunch of information and tell you the terms and conditions so quickly that you can barely understand what they are saying. I almost had a heart attack when I noticed the "monthly charge" was $39.90. The impression I got from the person that called me was it was a total of $39.90 charged over 30 months. I just called the number and insisted they credit my account and cancel my "membership". They try to make you feel badly becasue they suposedly already made full payment to the subscription services but if you insist they will do it. If you haven't answered the phone to them, pick it up and tell them NO!
