The scam has changed but the phone number is stil the 1344.  It's actually pretty impressive.  1st class mail.  24" by 15" full color double sided.  Also has a digital combination box, that displays a 5 digit number in green letters.  If your number matches one of the listed numbers (surprise, it does) then you've won one of 4 fabulous prizes.$10,000, all new ipad air, $250 walmart card, or up to $150.00 cash in hand.

Nifty, and looks very legit.  It even looks nifty and legit in the trash can.  Imagine that.

Flyer: Lakeland Motors
If anyone finds any additional information regarding fraud, please update to this site as soon as possible. I accessed the website as listed on the flyer and entered a date and time for the appointment. I will await the conformation call and update the result to this site also. Of course, I will also be checking my credit report for any suspicious activity, as this company "LakeLand Motors" seems to have already retrieved a lot of my personal information (from somewhere).

Agreed - it's a scam.  Ok, LEGALLY it's probably not a scam, but it's designed to get you in to a car dealership so they can take down your name, address, phone #, etc. and work their high pressure sales tactics on you.  The fine print says the odds of winning are pretty much that you'll get the $300 shopping card, which is issued by goshoppingmall.com.  This is a site that charges inflated prices for products and charges you "shipping and handling" fees that are pretty much equal  to what the product is worth.  No you can't charge the S/H fees to the card.  So, there's no real $300 there.  Check out what other people have said about that site and1-800-251-1344, and throw the ad in the garbage.

Received a registered letter, looked important. Had a scratch off number to win great prizes. Of course the scratch off number had to match a number that is revealed when u pull the tab of a small box, revealing a glowing number that of course matches. The ad looks professional enough.  It also has a voucher for $3500 for Burnsville motors, in Minnesota.  I wasn't immediately suspicious because I had recently been on line looking at cars from that area.  After reading all the small print and finding out that everyone wins a prize of great value I did the research.  Thank u everyone who takes the time to write about these scams.

Got a card in the mail said from Ford i could win $15,000 and to do there scratch off ! I had 5 days , there was a little gray

box attached to the card with of course a matching # to the scratch off. guaranteed to win one of the prizes: 2 new ipad minis ,$250.00, or $150.00 cash. said to call 1-800-251-1344. So when it sounded too good to be true i looked it up on the scam site . Yep here it is !!! so if u get a big card from Ford with a little gray box on it that lights up with the winning # and lasts for 5 days. trash it not true. Dont fall for these people trying to scam us its sad but i look everything up anymore first because there are too many SCAMS out there. dident get me this time. :)

Hey everybody, I went to the dealership, and they get your name, phone number and email so they can send you "offers" in the mail. They don't sell the personal information and I got a Walmart 5 dollar gift card. They said all Toyota authorized sellers are doing it nation wide. I would suggest going in if you want your gift card (unless someone is actually a lucky winner of the 10k or other prizes) it's just a gimmick to get you in the door. But hey, 5 bucks free.

I just got the same thing in the mail, but I decided to call the dealership (the Toyota dealership in my town, Joe Cooper Toyota) directly and they informed me that it is indeed from them and is the real thing and to go ahead and c'mon in. I think we will take the chance to walk in to see what it is all about but I feel it is mostly a scam. I'd much rather go in and see people face to face and be able to back out before any funny business then to do any of it online.

Same issue at hand here! I received the same flyer in the mail as well as my mother. After I called the rep asked me questions and ended up hanging up on me. So I talked to a friend who recommended one of the nicest sales man I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with! He was upfront honest and went out of his way to help and ensure we got the best deal possible! i have never had anyone go as far as he did to help us.I myself had some credit problems that he was able to appreciate and understand and was able to get me financed. Both my Mother and I traded in our cars and continue to recommended this man! If anyone would like information on a way to contact him PLEASE email me and I will be more than happy to give you his Name and contact information. Its hard to find genuine people these days and when you finally do its nice to pay it forward.

I received the same flyer and it is a scam. Mine said Airport Motors is having a huge sale in the Walmart in Leesburg fl. It also had the card with the mc logo and the voucher for $3288 to use as a bonus. I talked to my hubby about this (he works for Kia) but not afraid to shop for the best deal anyhow he said that he has been getting a ton of customers that had received the same flyer and it was a scam to get your personal info. Any time any dealership or company is hosting an event you can call the company directly and they will be more than happy to clarify any confusion or answer any question any one might have.

So I received this number in the mail on an advertisement for a car dealership (Carousel 2, and it is a real one in the area).  There was a "money card" attatched and I supposedly had won one of the prizes listed if the last 6 digits matched the scratch-off number AND one of the "winning numbers".  It did.  This seemed crazy and sketchy, but I went to the website they provided and entered the username and PIN listed.  It was just a website asking for my information (name, address, phone number) which seemed even more sketchy so I googled this number that they had provided to activate the card/confirm prize status which led me to this site.  It seems like nobody had done this, so I did:  I called the number and, when prompted, entered the PIN number and then the prompt said I would be directed to a live agent.  I was immediately hung up on.  Not even a hello, how rude haha.  I don't really understand what they are trying to do here, but if it's scamming people, they aren't doing a very good job if they can't even talk on the phone to steal my information.  How much $ are they losing sending out all of these fliers with correct local car dealerships and fake debit cards?

I received the same card with the same prizes and an invitation to stop by the Wal-Mart  on N. Dale Mabry in Tampa. I drove by and they are set up with 25 or 30 used cars but I didn't stop. If it were being sponsored by a legitimate dealer in the area I would check it out but since "Airport Motors" can't be found on the internet with a Tampa location I know it's a scam and they ain't gonna get me!!!

received similar mailing, appears to be from a local car dealership, entitled PRIZE NOTIFICATION: CERTIFIED FINALIST, advises call first before going to location (dealership) 800-251-1344 at top of page then at bottom is a payment voucher for $3387.44 to be used toward the purchase of a used vehicle.  It was sent to my home address, but no name, just generic "Certified Finalist".  After reading other posts here, I agree it is some sort of scam.

Yes, I received the same advertisement for the event in Tampa and it says that Airport Motors is holding the event in a Walmar parking lot!  My first thought was how are they going to park all those cars in the Walmart parking lot at Dale Mabry and Erlich/Bearrs?  I traverse that parking lot at least once a week and the Walmart customers take virtually all the parking spaces.  So I checked online for Airport Motors in Tampa without any success!

Regardless I am going by there this evening to check it out because I have been seriously considering trading in my vehicle for a pick up truck!  If they are actually giving anything away, all the better!

BTW - I am not registering via the phone number provided, nor the website!

Thanks to all for your comments and adivse!  Have a great weekend!

It's almost.... No it's to good to be true. As Geena and Joe stated the same thing I have (same amount of money and prize's). It's for a car dealer called "Airport Motors" located in the Walmart parking lot in Tampa. The only Airport Motor I have found online is located in Alabama, I live in Florida. It all looks official at first look, but I am just going to pitch it. I still find the only way to make money is to actually work, call me crazy.

PS no one called me I looked this number up via the phone number they provided to log onto my account, I looked up the website that was given to sign up and it's just one simple page that want's your address, phone number, e-mail and such.

I think these scammers have been reading our comments in here. Just a couple days ago I received a package from them claiming to be from "Laurel Ford Lincoln Kia" which really is a dealer 40 minutes from me and the address listed is correct! It has advertisement for bunch of cars on the back and a down payment assistance for $3,387 44. It kind of looks legit and I might have fell for it had I not scrutinized it further. I got this via one day delivery(first flag) in an important-looking packaging(second flag). The card that I got was platinum plus with vcard logo with no name on it and "certified Finalist 2013" at the bottom. They wanted me to call this number or go to the website "www.certifiedfinalist.opportunityevent.com" which wants my name, address, and phone number(third flag). It says I am a winner of one of these four (forth flag): 1, Grand Prize: $15000 money card 2, Two new ipad Mini's 3, $300 gift card 4: $150 cash in hand. (Fifth flag): under each of the prizes, the chance to win is listed: 1:250000 for the first, second, and third prize. 24997:25000! So ehem, the chance to win a $300 gift card is 24997 out of 25000 or almost 100%. What kind of car dealer can afford all this and what kind of contest is this that almost everyone will win something!

I also recently received a platinum plus pre-loaded debit card that also has MC on the bottom corner with the number 1-800-251-1344 to call to activate. It came with a flyer from Freemont Motors out of Sheridan, WY, saying that I won this card with $25,000.00 on it for a vehicle from this place. I did not make the call also and destroyed the card. So sick and tired of scammers!

I have received by mail an unsolicited credit card from Capital Trust beginning with the numbers 9911 with subsequent 12 numbers including my name, dated 2012, with an M C logo in the lower right corne which is not the Master Card official logo.  A  removeable tape applied instructed me to activate the card by calling 1-800-251-1344.  I did not call.

All American based credit cards start with the numbers, 3, 4, 5, or 6.  I question which country has credit cards which start with a nine.
