Who charged $1.00 from my debit card? I called this 800 # and I can't get through to them because I don't know the password or pin to enter because I don't have any idea who or what they are. 1-800-251-7551 is the # I tried to call.
Thank you,

This is the possibility: It's Stonebridge Insurance and if you have auto-pay for your policy set up you are seeing this likely because your bank card has expired that is linked to the account and you haven't updated your account with the new expiration date. Log in to your account and check the card information. You need to go onto all your auto-pay accounts online to update the card's new expiration date or your payments won't go through and you will be late making the payments. Some companies will send you an email notifying you that your card on file shows the expiration date is soon to be "expired" and you will need to update the information...but you can't count on all of them doing that. When the bank sends you a new card it is your responsibility to update all accounts connected to the card. Hope this helps!

It happened the same way to me also. I hope I don't have to get a new debit card which is what happened the last time I got an unknown charge like this. I took your advice and called Stonebridge who I have Encore Dental Insurance with and they didn't recognize the phone number but said such a pre-authorization would show up if I had applied for a different Stonebridge policy but that it would take 48 hours or more for them to have information on any new account I applied for show up on their computer.

Got the $1.00 charge on credit card. Mine is a pending charge, so waiting to see on statement. I do have an account with Stonebridge Insurance and the charge references SB PREAUTH, so I think it is them. Contact number for their customer service is 800-622-2923. Turn the tables on them.

By chance did the transaction show up as SB *PREAUTH ?
By chance do you have any dealings with Stonebridge insurance?
I am going through the same thing trying to confirm the validity of the charge before removing the block on my account. Otherwise I will have to cancel my card. Most agravating!

fraud - my story is the same as above - shut your card down - they start small and if they do not get caught they go big.

I did not get a call, but I had a mysterious $1 debit against my checking account, with 800-251-7551 TX listed on the transaction. When I called them, their automated system kept asking me for a PIN number. I reported the transaction to my bank's fraud section.

I received a $1.00 charge twice, no idea who. The credit card company found it and whoever they are, they were trying to enter the expiration date and got it wrong both times, sounds very fishy.

I also got this $1.00 charge on my debit card. What's up with this, Am I going to hit with a big debt scam?

This number appeared on a mysterious $1 pre-authorization debit on my checking account and the bank could not identify the merchant. I hadn't authorized anything on my debit card, so possibly some kind of scam. All it said was the state of Texas, which is not a lot to go on.
