Same company, same experience! I called them to let them know I had filed complaints against them with the FTC and Better Business Bureau and the rude gentleman began screaming at me that he planned to ruin my credit. I received a vey unprofessional, generic letter requesting credit card information and several signatures ( thought legitimate businesses would accept check also). There were also several misspellings on their "bill"---a sure sign of a scam.
Have not given them any money and will not give them any money! The only way to stop people like this is to file as many complaints as possible!

I received a call about a month ago telling me that my subscription was about to expire. They wanted me to give them credit information (I did not) I had them send me a bill. 2 years was 80.00 plus. 1 yr was 39.00 plus. I agreed to 1 year. I received a bill. In the meantime I got on a website by the magazine company. The were 2 yrs for less than one with magazines. So I ordered through them. I got the bill I wrote a HUGE Cancel on the bill and explained why. It said I had so many days to cancel so I got it in the mail right away. Today I got a bill for 2 years for 84.99. Saying they have recorded confirmation of me agreeing to this. SCAM... I called them. Took me 1/2 an hour to get through. I don't remember his name. darn. He told me that since I am refusing to pay they would take action. He said they have a recording to me agreeing to it. He was very rude. I asked him how many people they scam by doing this. He said Thousands.... Are you serious??

Received a letter in mail asking for $98.99 for 2 years of National Geographic for which they have recorded verbal agreement. We never agreed to anything like this.

This is a SCAM

Received a voicemail claiming that we had ordered a magazine and they had a legally binding recording of our verbal order. Voicemail indicated that they had sent us several unpaid invoices. No mention of what magazine we allegedly ordered. Voicemail indicated that we needed to call 1-800-256-3241 to pay the invoice. This is a scam.

This is apparently a scam to obtain credit card info. They also operate through the U.S. Postal Service.

Exactly the same scam as above. Called us claiming we had sent a renewal form for a magazine subscription, which never happened. Tried very hard to get a credit card number.

Called about my Atlantic subscription (said that they received the renewal formin the mail, but without a payment; I sent nothing to them), which was already renewed. When I told them that it had already been renewed (which I verified on the Atlantic site and with my credit card after the call), the rude man on the other end said that they needed my payment information. Would not accept my answer, so I finally hung up.

3rd party magazine subscription service. Caller hung up when I pointed out I had already received 3 calls about my (soon to be cancelled) subscription to The Atlantic in the last several hours.
