I answered the phone telling them I am on the do not call registry. The lady told me that its a special offer for card members (Sears). So yea, Sears is selling our information to third parties. Basically it. I just told her I am not interested in any new offers, products or services at this time and she thanked me for my time. Calls stopped.
sammy 2012-08-03 23:33:12 Unknown
how did you block them?

I keep getting this caller asking for my girlfreind. I don't really want him to call back and don't need what he is selling. My girlfriend agrees with this and asked me to check on thise.

The difference here is that these calls are invading my home. This is my time, and my telephone and I do not want to be disturbed by sales calls. Go find some other way to make a living where you are not stealing my time.

Here's my response to "letscallya-awaaambulance" - WRONG!
The majority of the calls come from phone centers that contract with companies and charities, or from creditors. Occasionally they come from businesses directly or because someone has given the wrong number out. IN ALL CASES - if the person called tells the person calling to NOT call back, they are required by law to NOT call again for at least 1 year - even when they are a charity. This applies whether your number is on the DO NOT CALL LIST REGISTRY or not. If your number is on the registry, then ONLY companies you have dealt with, charities or politically related calls are allowed, and then if you tell them not to call, they have to stop.
I have tried doing this only to be called repeated for weeks from the same number! They aren't doing a legit "job" when they are violating state and federal laws!!
I get cold calls from companies that I've never heard of or dealt with trying to sell me something - I've been on the do not call list since it was started. It?s illegal for them to even call me.
I get calls from charities all the time - even after I tell them not to call. If I say I'm unemployed and have no money to give them and to not call again, I have been told to BORROW the money to give!!!!! If I tell them to not call ? they have to stop and IT IS unethical for them to tell people to borrow money and give them.
I get calls from creditors trying to reach someone else, I tell them they have the wrong number, to remove it and not call back - they still call. Sometimes they start cussing at me and threatening me and I?m not even the person they are looking for! It is illegal for them to call me since I?m not who they are looking for and have never done business with them or the company they are trying to collect money for. Once I tell them they have the wrong number and to remove it, they are legally required to do that.
I get calls from Universities trying to contact someone and tell them they have the wrong number and to remove it, only to be called another 30 times (each time repeating to remove my number) before they stop!
In 100% of all the calls that I?ve gotten (that?s around 200 per year) I have tried telling them nicely to not call me, to remove my number, they have the wrong person, to speak to a supervisor, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH? and it has worked maybe 4-5 times out of hundreds of calls. I?ve had some call me 4-5 times per day, some every day for 2 months, some every week for months, and so on.
And I?m not even talking about the obvious scammers (lower credit card rates, lower mortgage payments, surveys and you get a free cruise, etc?) which also come in at the rate 2-3 per week.
They are not trying to earn a living if they are violating state and federal laws! They are criminals and harassers. I can only assume you are one of them or that you have been extremely lucky and not received the hundreds of calls some of us have.
If they would stop calling when asked nicely I doubt anyone would be looking on the Internet trying to find out who they are?

Wow, it just shocks me how immature and unintelligent people are. You would think that after years of telemarketing calls people would start to "get it", but they dont. People whine around because they get phone calls from telemarketers asking them to sign up for something, most of the time having no idea what it is, those poor telemarketers get hung up on, it could be an amazing offer or absolutely ridiculous, but noone shuts up long enough to listen and let the caller do their job. What makes anyone here think they are more significant than a telemarketer? Theyre humans too who have bills and groceries to buy, many are senior citizens who have put their years in and need a less physically demanding job or the disabled, and you people have the heart to be so disrespectful and ungrateful? At least theyre working and not mooching off the welfare system for god's sakes!! Jeeze have a heart and brain and just tell them in a decent manner to take you off their list or ask to be put on the DNP list. If after a month your still getting calls then ask to speak with their supervisor. Hanging up them or lying doesnt work, the calls will keep coming so use your brain for five seconds and give them 60 seconds to kindly ask to be put on that list. You are no better than them by being so rude.

I get several calls from 800-258-0718 and I have told them to stop calling me. I am also listed on the national do not call registery. I simply want them to quit calling all the time. No one says anything and all the calls are getting to be very annoying.

Have been calling me for months every day. Today I looked on my caller Id and they called ten times. luckily I don't hear the phone ringing as I have it in silent mode and I have a call block feature on my phone. very persistent dirt bags.

it belongs to sears. Just spoke to them a bit a go.
bus 2011-09-02 14:56:34 Unknown
This number is Sears. I called it just to see. If you stay on long enough, you get the option of going on their "do not call" list. May take a while but the calls should stop. I called about 10 days ago and still got one just a few minutes ago.
Cassandra 2011-08-16 15:48:32 Unknown

Paul 2011-08-15 13:13:14 Telemarketer
Yes it's SEARS marketing. No option to remove your number, if you call back!
Rose 2011-08-10 15:19:24 Unknown
Just an FYI...not trying to be a smarta** or anything--but charities are not the only ones that are allowed to call you if your on the DNC list. Also allowed to call you are collection agencies, political organizations (because God knows we wouldn't want the elected official who helped enact the DNC list to not be able to call you and harass you to vote for him) AND, and here's the kicker, any business you have had an account with or done buisness with in the--I believe--3 years. It may be 5 years. So if this number is Sears, and you have bought anything from them or ever had a credit card with them, extended warranty, whatever in that time period, they are legally allowed to call you.

I have been laid off and am on bed rest. I had to get rid of caller ID and all the 'extra's' in our home. So now the only way i know who is calling is if I pay the 'per-use' *69....which I finally did because this person called at 2pm EVERY DAY for weeks and did not leave a message.
We figured out that sears was calling us for a credit card offer before we cut all of our extra phone services. It was sears and my husband took the call and told them we were not interested and to stop calling. Well I guess that didn't work!
Tessey 2011-06-06 20:57:23 Unknown
Belongs to Sears Credit Cards. Didn't leave a message.I did a reverse dial and since don't have a Sears Credit Card I didn't listen any further.
Oscar 2011-06-06 20:57:23 Unknown
Just like Tessey said it's sears credit card. It is a marketing survey.
