look up your states limitations on how old the debt has to be before it is charged off and considered forgiven. if i'm not mistaken the time has definitely passed on this bill being due, so even though you think you found a way to control the calls, you may be able to have it disappear entiely just by doing a little research....

We have been receiving phone calls from NES for over a year.  They are trying to collect for an individual Mr. Silva who used to have our current telephone number.  We have told them that he does not have this number anymore and asked them to stop calling us.  They continue to call 2 or 3 times a week.

So this guy calls my home phone asking for me and I asked who he was and he said "oh you can play this game" and I freaked out on him cussing and screaming until he hung up...lol....then I called back and screamed at whoever answered...lol again.  So few weeks later a woman calls from the same number (I knew it was them) This time I played calm...she asked for me, I said you got her, she said "I'm blah, blah when are you going to pay this bill of $261.00 for an old cell phone" I asked her what was the date of the bill and she said 2001, SO I asked her what year it is...lol...2010!
So she got pissed and asked if I was gonna pay or not ...and I SAID NO AND ASKED HER WHAT SHE WAS GONNA DO ABOUT IT.  She was stuck!  After 9 years they are still trying to collect on a debt of 261! funny cause they couldn't even sue me if they wanted to.  This company is a bunch of idiots...why are they even wasting their time?  In all reality if I really owed the $ I would have paid it off years ago, but this cell phone company (that went out of business) allowed my at the time bf to add 2 years to my contract w/o my knowledge cause he broke the phone, I knew nothing about it until it showed up on my credit report...and conveniently the company was gone.  So anyway point is the NES people are creeps...just give em a taste of their own medicine.  They try to press you into thinking they can do all this stuff to you...just laugh at em...it really pisses them off...LOL...man they must hate their jobs!

Hello there,

I wanted to know, has NES actually gone through and sued the debtor? My first interaction with this company started this week and that's the threats they have been giving me along with garnishing wages which I know they cannot do until a judgement is obtained.. Thank you so much for your time!

Another trick this company does is it tries to find your relatives and leave messages on their phones in order to humiliate you into paying, had them leave a message for my cousin on my phone, never lived with my cousin.

OMG!  My husband and I have had perfect credit for years until this economy!  For the last 2 years we have been struggling and have been trying to stay afloat.  We have not claimed bankruptcy because we are the type to want to pay our debt.  But these people are relentless and Horrid!!!  They are the type that make me want to go ahead and go bankrupt just to stick it to them!  I even told the representative that we have been working with these creditors and not claiming bankruptcy.  She told me that once there is a file number it is protected from the bankruptcy.  Thank you so much for your information.  It made me feel much better.  I'm still in debt, but at least now I know I will not be going to court next week!  Thanks so much!

Someone named or calling themselves "Van" called my home phone and left a message. It was a wrong number and "Van" made threats to this person. Isn't that illegal? I thought these companies were just suppose to stick to the facts, by law.

I have made a digital recording of this message, with person that was suppose to receive the message digitally removed (bad luck dudes to happen across someone in the recording industry), and copies are being forwarded this week to all appropriate agencies (and it's a long list, federal and states).

If you read this on behalf of National Enterprise Systems or "Van" - bad luck dude(s). Or you may want to give ole Van a heads up if you're in the industry at 800-882-9325 x 1679. I betting there is no one really named "Van" at the NES.

Well, once again, they're calling for "Rebecca".  Even though when I told them last time THERE IS NO REBECCA IN THIS HOUSEHOLD, NOR DO I KNOW ONE.
So, they told me they'd take me off their call list.  Yet, they're still calling!

How do I report them for abuse?  I'm on the "Do Not Call" list, but I'm not sure if this would be covered by that, being they're a collection agency.  Worse off, I'm worried that this could be a sign of indentity theft.

Got a voicemail for someone named Rebecca, and this number and an extension number were left, as well as an urgent message to call them back immediately.

I'd like to add that there were 3 of these calls, to the same woman, all from different numbers, and all from this same collection agency.  The calls were made at: 9:27 am, 10:53 am, and 10:55 am.
(The last 2, a mere 2 minutes apart - rather ridiculous in itself!)

I did call them back (apparently this company is called National Enterprise Systems - a collection agency) and told them to take our number off their list - I've never even heard of the woman they were asking for.  But now I worry if this could be a sign of indentity theft.

Have had Multiple "final reviews" from NES on my work phone number, that I explicitly told them to not call, as it is a business line. they are reaching colleagues of mine and being rude to them. This is damaging my reputation at work.
I tried calling one of them back to arrange payment. I left a voicemail, and then someone new started calling me. Of course, they had never heard of the payment arrangement made with the previous agent. They proceeded to inform me that I must not have tried to contact them.

Caller ID only says "440" then a message comes on  that says please call 1-800-262-0305 immediately concerning a personal matter.  After several of these calls every day for about the past month, I finally called the number and the first person hung up on me when I started asking questions.  So I called it again and asked for the name on the message and he also hung up on me when I started asking questions.  But I am now seriously concerned because I gave him my full name.

this is a horrible company.  We tried to make payment arrangements and they refused a bank check, stating they only take checking account information for payment.  I do not feel safe giving this to them.  How do you pay them without giving them your bank information?

I recently worked at this horrible place. National Enterprise Systems is the collection agency from hell. It's the devil's worst nightmare. Employees are trained to collect according to the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act but once on the floor in their respective departments collectors are told to forget everything they learned.

My supervisor, Bryan Howard under the alias of Paul Stevens, regularly provided a second voice to collectors having trouble closing collections. This idiot would identify himself to callers as a federal agent, an NES attorney, etc., anything to try to scare the debtor into paying. He would actually tell debtors and their spouses that a lawsuit had been filed and if the account is not paid by postdated check by a certain time that day a deputy of the court was coming to serve the debtor on his job. I witness this on a daily basis all day long. B. Howard is neither a federal agent, attorney nor any of the other things he claims to be and NES don't sue debtors. All are clear violations of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.

Debtors are talked to as if they're inhuman. Even when the debtor is not home the person taking the message is treated like dirt. I will never forgot my supervisor shouting at an 81 year old African-American woman for not getting a pen and paper to take the message. "I DON'T CARE IF YOU ARE 81 YEARS OLD HE SCREAMED AT THE WOMAN." I've witness collectors hollering at kids "GO GET YOUR FATHER."

You are not supposed to talk to spouses?in certain states--about their significant others? debt unless given permission by the spouse to do so. This rule is ignored at NES. In fact when I left training I put the document about the spouse rule on my cubicle wall to reference only to have it snatched and trashed by Bryan Howard who said I wouldn?t need it.

The owners Ernest Pollack, his wife, and two sons: Scott and pie-faced Chris are well aware of what is going on. These people are hands on owners. They constantly walk the call room floors, note the individual collectors and group collection sales and hear all the violations first hand. The more a collector screams at a debtor the more they like it. People actually clap and cheer when a collector goes off on a debtor. All that concerns these greedy b*****ds is how much money they are collecting at any given time.

Payments are demanded in full although they do offer settlements that are too demanded in full. Money orders and mail-in payments are not accepted, only postdated checks over-the-phone or Western Union Transfers for Citi Bank accounts. Some other creditors do allow NES to also take payment by credit card. For the postdated checks debtors are asked to give their accounting and routing numbers. NES, the scumbags they are, attempts to take the money out before the postdate. Nice company huh!

Collectors and supervisors once provided with bank info by the debtor call banks automated customer service numbers to obtain how much money they have in their accounts. We have their social security numbers so getting info this way is like taking candy from a baby. Some banks have safeguards against this and required you talk to a live person. They also work this wickedness on debtors? credit card accounts or the credit card accounts of the debtors? spouse, mother, father, etc. I remember one collector on the phone with a debtor saying ?Your Mother Has $7,000 On Her Card She Can Use;? She Can Pay This Debt For You!?

If anyone needs someone who's "been there" in any of their legal actions against this despicable company I?m your guy.

The best way to go after this scumbag company is to bombard the companies that hire National Enterprise System to collect: Citi Bank, Chase Bank, National City Bank, Verizon, Shop NBC, Toyota, Sun Trust, Arrow Financial, Honda, Hillco Rec and Bank of America. There may be more but this is a good start.

I worked at this "prison" three years ago and know many who work there now. I understand they train new employees to follow the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act but once on the floor collecting they are told by greedy managers and supervisors to forget everything they learned.

NES is looking for a person that shares my last name and claims that I owe Bank of America 18k and they are taking me to court. They called my house everyday in the past week looking for this person and i asked them to be removed but I am still getting these calls in early mornings and on my answering machine. When I asked to speak to a manager, I get hung up.  I was finally able to find out what NES was and searched for their number to call them back. When i called the number and spoke to compliance manager named Mary Shaw to ask how NES got my number, she put me on hold and hung up on me. Everyone in this company is extremely rude and unprofessional and requests very personal information from unsuspecting consumers. I shudder to think what would happen if my a senior in my household answered their calls and got threatend into giving them her accout number. I filed complaint with the Chicago Attorney General, Cleveland BBB.  NES already have multiple complains against them with both agencies for illegal practices

I urge you to file your complaint with both agencies.

Leaves a recorded message stating:
"This is an important message from Mark Brown-please return my call to:
1-800-626-0305."
I called Back and it was NES- National Enterprize Services.
I asked what the company was-the woman would not tell me.
I then received a call 10 minutes later from Ronald Tise @ 1-800-261-3182, stating "You need to pay your bill honey."  I tried to explain I was a victim of identity theft- he said I need you to fax me the police report." I said , "no-you need to send me something in writing and stop calling & harrassing me over the phone."  I've warned the company twice.
Then, a woman, by name of "Denise" calls and said to my 9 year old daughter, "You need to put a freakin adult on the phone- this is an emergency."  My husband heard my daughter cry and got on the phone-she told him, "You need to stop having children answering your phone & pay your freakin bills."  Nice!
How can they get away with this?

NES are frauds.  They're not lawyers.  They're lowlifes.  They can't and won't sue or take any legal action.  They can't validate any of the crap they're trying to collect on and intimidation is their only weapon.  Block them, ignore them, just don't deal with them.  They're unethical and disreputable bottom-feeders who prey on the uninformed.
