I was contacted by this company and I was of the same opinion of most of the posts here. I decided out of curiosity to see what they were about. I actually had a little over 6000.00 in total credit card debt. I was assigned a credit counselor, and they were able, on my behalf, to negotiate better interest rates with my lenders. I have been on this program for 16mnths and will be completely out of debt by this December 2011. I know that their telemarketing process may be frustrating at first, because it surely was for me, but they really were able to help me pay off my debt and raise my credit score.

I've been getting calls from these ppl every day - and it's totally suspicious! They say they can help lower my interest rates for my credit card, and when I told her that I don't have a credit card with them she responded that she works with my credit card company (but never stated what my credit card company actually was). It felt like a phishing attempt...

I used to work for this company, for about 2 weeks. I got fired on the 3rd week because they thought my accent was my disadvantage (used exact words here) and I was let go. No need to mention I felt very discriminated.

They insist that they can help us with credit cards that we do not have.  I told them we do not need their help and to take us off their list and they argued that we had cards.  STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

I have recieved multiple calls this week from this number.  Once last night at 10:30pm and another at 9:44 am today.  Not impressed! No message left, so I called it back and the guy was VERY rude.  I asked what he had called for and he said we were calling to lower your interests rates on your credit cards, first of all I knew this is odd, because I don't have any credit cards.  Second, he was so rude when I told him I was interested for that fact he said,"well... ok, be smart and keep paying on your high interest credit card then!" Then he hung up!?

Thank You!!! Telemarketers have very strict FTC regulations to follow. They are only able to call between the hours of 9am to 9pm. Now, if you have a cell phone with an east coast area code, and you live in California, then maybe you are getting calls outside those times, but within parameters. Just remember this simple thing...what comes around goes around. If you treat someone that is honestly just trying to earn a living...not rip you off...not wake you up....not steal your identity...just trying to put food on the table, like crap---- The universe is going to gladly repay you for your unkindness. Try to remember that the next time a telemarketer calls.

Is your world really that sad that you would need to harass some poor girl who,is just trying to make an honest living. If you're not interested, merely say so, and then resume with your so called life. I have had the terrible mis-fortune of having to work in a call center, and it is really hard work. The vast majority of the people that work these jobs work them to provide for their families. Most of them have little to no formal education, do not qualify for other types of higher paying jobs, and need to somehow provide for their families. When did our society get so cynical and jaded that we are completely unable to empathize and just extend common courtesy. I get the million and one telemarketing calls too, but I never feel the need to be rude, toy with, or just be plain nasty with them. Amazingly, even if they are originally rude, their tone voice changes and they very happily remove me from their calling list. ONE more thing...It's not your banks that are giving your information. These businesses purchase lead lists. These lead lists are generated with information that YOU willing provide to internet transactions, raffles, surveys, and pretty much any other thing that you may put your information on. So, if you really want to keep your number private, might I suggest that you stop providing your information to every publisher's clearing house sweepstakes in the mail and then maybe the telemarketers would be unable to get your information in the first place. In the meantime, a very nice, "Thank you for your time, but can you please put me on your Do Not Call List." will suffice and actually accomplish your ultimate goal.

I clicked on the site www.Selectbenefitsnow.com and it took me to a login site and since I have no account with them I can't see what this site is.  I have researched this and 6 other company names out and they are one and the same??? I am scared that they are scamming me out of 595 dollars to lower my interest rate.  I contacted my credit card companies and they said no one can get these intest rates lowered.  I bet if I took out a second mortgage on my house and paid off these cards the companies loose out completely any way.  I see that these companies like Select Credit Benefits are trying to start up businesses but do they have to do it with some many different names?  I have checked out the BBB on all the phone number I had for the company that contacted me and there is 7 different names using the same number.  I know they will tell me its just one central location and one company has no connection to the others.  How can we be sure in the age of descent.  Wish I had known before I allowed them access to my credit card number.  They say they are guaranteed.  How can I be sure???

I got a call from this number and asked to be taken off their caller list, was then told that I did not even know what they were calling about, which was correct.  I then stated that if they did not take me off the list, I would call the federal govenment and report them.  The caller referred to me as an idiot and humg up before I could respond.

After a charge of $795 on a credit card, I was told that in an event that I would lose my job they would pay off my credit.  I consulted with a lawyer who told me to cancel a.s.a.p.  When calling the company I was charged a $195 fee, everyone that I spoke to was rude!!! After finishing up the conversation with a Darren and Evelyn,  she said thanks for the $195 and hung up!  SCAM ARTISTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How is it possible for a scandalous company to remain in business, be enlisted with the BBB? Do you honestly think the FTC would not take the oppertunity to shut a company down if they were engaging in scandalous activities? Hmmmm...something to think about huh? On top of that, no one in their right mind would file something that consisted of a third party like AN ATTORNEY to take ove their finaces. Not only would they consist of a unorthodox fee for service, but the client would DESTROY their credit. You really shouldn't be advising people to do that when you HAVE NO CLUE what you are talking about. People work very hard for their credit and you are instructing them to ruin it. SCB if a very legit company that helped me lower my rates on 4 of my accounts. If you need more info visit www.BBB.org or www.Selectbenefitsnow.com so you can become EDUCATED.

Lol do people really have nothing better to do than make up stories? A company doesn't even have the ABILITY to call you after 9pm your local time. If this company is sooo bad why have they been in business so long? Please do your research before you flap your gums.

Ever wonder what it would be like to have a job that didn't require you to go on the internet and LIE? You'll probably never know, most of the clowns involved in these scams would never qualify for honest work, unless justice prevails one day and you get a job in some prison laundry!

This is the well-known UPFRONT FEE SCAM, complete with scammers who visit 800notes!

I got a call from this company about a month ago and decided to see what they could do for me. Not only did they save me almost $7000 on my credit cards but they also got the rate reduced on 3 out of 5 cards for me. The only reason they couldn't get the other two reduced was because I had late payments. I tried to do this on my own and couldn't even get through the door with my credit card company. I'm happy that I also didn't have to hurt my credit to get this done.

Had my last call from these people on 1-18-2010 at 8:55 p.m. wanting to reduce my interest on my credit card. I was not interested and the guy was very rude. I told him not to call any more and do not call after 6:00 and he said the government allows calls up to 9:00 at night. This number has called many, many, times mostly I do not answer the phone but this time I wanted to give a piece of my mind. I told him not to call back or I would report them for harassment he was still talking and I hung up on him.

These guys are scammers - they offer to lower your credit card interest rate and want to charge you thousands to negotiate for you - Don't fall for it !  Just a scam and all they do is call your credit card issuer and ask on your behalf and most of the credit card companies will do this for you for FREE if you call yourself - but a lot of them won't lower your rates either and some are actually raising the % rates that you pay for no reason at all now a days and they have it in the small print of their contract that allows them to so without notice - so don't waste your time on these types of telemarketing scams !  Call the card company yourself and if that doesent work you can call any local Bankruptcy Attorney and they usually have a program that can help you WITHOUT FILING A BK - they charge much less and will call or write your credit card company on your behalf to assist in lowering your rates and they are LEGITIMATE LAW FIRMS unlike the telemarketing scammers that claim to call you because your bank gave them the # - anyone can buy a list of telephone numbers and names and start calling so Beware.....

Got a call from 800-262-2705 and gave me the whole story about lowering my interest rate.  But the interesting thing here is that they called me at my job.  My home phone number is unlisted and unpublished (I did this recently to stop crazy calls at home).  So naturally I was curious and asked how they got my number and they said from a credit bureau.  ???
They did identify themselves as Select Credit Benefits from Clearwater FL.  I told them I only had one credit card and that's through my bank and I pay it off.  This is just too creepy the way they operate and I wish someone would shut them down.

This company called and was trying to get credit card information.
Darrel Harvey came on the phone and told me my that a company gave them my number.
I do not have a credit card, but he insisted he could help me.  He asked certain questions trying to obtain data.  This is a scam in my opinion
