They identified themselves as Trident International and they were trying to sell me an American Express card telling me I could get $25 free,no strings. Right!!!!
Then they tried the Patriotic bit about how they were going to do something for the service men if I would promise to look over their stuff. I told them NO!! and then he mentioned something about a $3.95 service charge. Mostly I was upset because he had the last four digits of our credit card and our address. He could not tell me where he got that information.

I had pretty much the same experience. The caller identified himself as a representative of Trident (or Triton) International and said that I had won a free American Express card worth 25$ if I would only confirm my address. I told him that he should obviously have my address, since he was calling me, and he read me an address that was close to mine, but not exact. I'm not sure if he had the correct address and just could not pronounce it right or not. I refused to confirm anything and asked where he got my information. He said I had purchased something from a merchant that they were associated with, but would not tell me the merchant's name. After I questioned him numerous times and refused to answer any of his questions, he said "thank you" and quickly hung up.

These people are rip off artists. They will not tell me how they got the last few digits of my credit card number. I killed that card and filed a fraud alert on it and the people who called me. Do not let this crap go on. Report it to your local police and to the FTC. We have got to stop this crap!!!!!!
I want these people put in jail!!!!

Received same type of call today telling me that they worked with a vendor I recently made an online purchase with and they worked for Trident tried to give us a free $25 visa gift card.  They verified my mailing address and the last four of my debit card.  The lady was extrememly persistant and talked over me while I tried to tell her no thnaks many times. Finally I said again No and this is me telling you to have a nice day and hung up.  I called the 800 numvber back and received an answering machine with no company name or anything, it was fishy!  So I called the company that I recently made an online purchase with and asked what information they give out.  They don't even give out phone numbers or email address...no info what so ever.  Then I called my bank, had the card cancelled.  This is ridiculous!  DO NOT VERIFY ANY INFORMATION, address, name or credit card info!!

These people called at least 7 times in one day.  They didn't leave a message.  If I don't recognize the number, or am not expecting a call, I allow my machine to answer.  They kept calling and not leaving a message up until about 9 pm.  I expect the same today. I would suggest that if a caller, paricularly commercial calls, can't leave a who, what, when, why and where message should be restricted by the FCC as to the number of calls they can make to a particular phone number.

I have been receiving the same calls from the same people asking for the same information.  I was stupid and actualy verified everything.  Until they put in the $3.95 fee.  Then I said NO and I was not interested.  I appreciate everyone's comments and will definately be calling my credit card company's to let them no and get new cards.

Thanks everyone!

I have been receiving the same calls for about 3 days now.  They don't talk, they don't leave a message, anything.  If you call the number back to see who it is it just says leave a message.  They won't talk to me though.

I also got "the call". several times during last week. They said because I had recently made a purchase on a VISA card (they had the last four numbers of my card and its expiration date) they were offering me a $50.00 AMEX debit card.  They had my address, etc and said they would send "the package" right out.  All I had to do was look over the material.  I insisted I did not want the offer and the caller repeated "so you don't want to support the troups" every time I declined the offer. I called VISA and requested a new card.

Didn't get the # was on another call. Talked to a rep and was told trident visa but got speel on liberty pass card and us patriot card, had 2 weeks to cancel and would get a $25.00 am express card. Guy talked so fast I could hardley understand but asked alot of questions. Had nothing to do with a credit card application I'm sure!!! Total cost $4.95 for shipping which would be taken of the credit card with last 4 digits ???? (can't say those).
Fortunatley it's a prepaid I use for any internet thing and there's nothing on it. When I told him that he said "well youn have a good day" click! So be careful. Not legitimate. Will report when I find out where.

I first posted about this company back on Dec 1, 2007. "Trident International" stopped calling me around the middle of December, and so that I didn't get lonely another one (reading from the same script) called "KBF" began.

Flash forward to today.

Been watching the card they had the last four digits for closely. Bingo, bogus charge showed up on my statement. I canceled the card and filed a fraud complaint.

I wish I followed the advice here and canceled it after the first call.

It's quite apparent from a few simple google searches that this is fairly wide spread. If the banks don't do something about this, they're going to end up with a lot of very unhappy customers.

I forgot to mention that after the call, I immediately card the credit card issuer to report the card lost/stolen and shut that account number down, and was reissued a new account number.

So you need to keep them on the line long enough to get an idea which credit card they have information for and cancel them.

For the last 3 weeks I've been coming into work to find multiple from this 800 264-1541 number in my missed call log. I Googled it a found all of hits about this call being a fraud.

This past Wednesday (1/23) throughout the day I was getting calls and ignoring them. Thurdsay morning, I finally decided to answer, it was "Martha" from Trident International saying their records indicated I made a recent percahse with my VISA card ending with 9292 and I'm eligible for an AMEX $25 gift card. Since I had already read about this scam,I lead them on try and get as much info as I could on what they knew about me.

I then told "Martha" that I reas on the internet that this was a fraud, and said the call was very appropriate as the number she called is my work number,l which happens to be at the Bank of America fraud credit card fraud detection department.  CLICK!! goes the phone.

so far, the calls have stopped... LOL

These f____kers keep calling my phone, 10+ times a day.  Finally i answer and speak to some guy who is trying to fast talk me to get me to just agree to some stupid charge.  They had my address, phone # (obviously), and the last 4 digits of my credit card. I asked him how he got the info and he said from a merchant i bought something from but would not tell me the name of the company due to legal reasons. Just tell them there was credit card fraud to your account and they will hang up..

THIS NUMBER IS A SCAM!!!  Report immediatly to your banks or credit card carriers.  They have your credit card or bank account number and want you to verify personal information.  Change your account numbers, and also put a fraud alert on your credit report.  Some people are also reporting unknown pending charges on their credit cards! Call Equifax and go through an automated system to put a fraud alert on your credit report.  It will also report to the other two credit bureaus.  Equifax # 1-800-525-6285

I have been receiving calls from this number 6 times a day. They start calling from 10am till evening. VERY ANNOYING. This started when I purchased a product online called "Tobi", which is an iron steamer. It is very skeptical since I was not satisfy with the product so I returned it, but it has been 2 months already and they still never refunded my money. They must have sold my information to this annoying number company.

Beware when you make any purchase online, especailly those As Seen on TV items.

Started getting calls from this # on the 14th of Jan they only called once that day then on the 15th they called 4xs on the 4th time my husband answered and they gave the same info as above ( we had recently purchased on line and we had won a $25 gift card),they wanted to know if our address was correct, they had our last four of our mc # and they had my name  and my cell # they also wanted to know who was primary on our acct. my husband told them that he didn't feel comfortable giving out that kind of info over the phone. the lady on the other end said sorry and hung up on him.

Today they called me 9xs on the 9th time my husband picked up again and it was a man this time (same spiel)my husband told them that we had already gotten a call from them last night about this and before he could get anything more out the man hung up on him. I also have tried to call them back to only get an answering machine. We called last night and canceled the card and checked to see if any transactions had been done on it recently and luckily none had been made.
