Demand a legitimate, physical mailing address in which to send a cease communication letter VIA certified mail with return receipt requested. If they refuse, let them know you will be seeking legal counsel who will get it for you and will be filing a harassment lawsuit.
These people called me before 8am on a freakin Sunday Morning! And the person they want does not live here!!!
800-265-8825 keeps calling me at work. how to stop it please I work at a doctor office
I have received calls from them and I tell them i don't know who it is, they always respectful. never complained about them. Until recently, they call me directly to my voicemail and leave breathing 3 minute messages. Really?REALLY????!!!! That's the most ridiculous thing. Now they're going to be ignored, blocked what ever.
Received a call from this company looking for my niece who does not live there. I need for them to stop calling here.
Called my number trying to reach a family member. Called them back and left a message that the person they were trying to reach does not live her and advised them not to call or send mail again. Blocked the first number they called from and will block this one too if they keep calling.
Its no wonder they have been sued... FDCPA Violations run rampant-- So one has to question the "nice guy's" comment. Or rather laugh at that comment! There is *no* sympathy for a company that frequently flaunts and violates the FDCPA laws, let alone a employee who does so knowingly.
A Collection Agent May Not?
Here are the top 11 actions prohibited by the The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act:
Misrepresent Him or Herself
A debt collector may not misrepresent himself as an attorney or law enforcement officer.

A collection agent may not cause a telephone to ring or engage any person in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously with an intent to annoy, abuse, or harass anyone at the called number.
Threaten Arrest or Lawsuit
A collection agent may not threaten a consumer with arrest. It may not threaten legal action that is either not permitted or not actually contemplated. In other words, a the threat of a lawsuit may be an empty one.
Use Abusive or Threatening Language
A debt collector may no use abusive or profane language in the course of communication related to the debt.
Publish a Bad Debt List
Publishing the consumer?s name or address on a "bad debt" list is prohibited.
Contact By Embarrassing Media
A debt collector may not communicate with a consumer by post card. It may not use any language or symbol, other than the debt collector?s address, on any envelope when communicating with a consumer by use of the mails or by telegram. A debt collector may use its business name if such name does not indicate it is in the debt collection business.

Bills.com FDCPA FAQ
Below are questions Bills.com readers ask frequently:
Can a Collection Agent Call My Cell Phone?
Yes. However, if you tell the debt collector it may not use that number because it is a cell phone, it may not contact you again at that number.
I Keep Receiving Dozens of Calls From Collection Agents. Is That Legal?
No. Unscrupulous collection agents will use "block parties" or "office parties" where they contact a consumer, multiple neighbors, or co-workers telling them they need to reach the consumer on an urgent matter. This is not permitted under the FDCPA.
A Collector Says I Will Be Arrested if I Do Not Pay
This was a true statement before the US Civil War, but has not been true since. People may be arrested if an aggressive judge files a bench warrant for a person who does not appear at a hearing relating to a lawsuit regarding a debt. However, in that case, the offense is the failure to respond to a court order, and not the existence of the debt. As stated above, it is illegal under the FDCPA to threaten a consumer with arrest if the consumer does not pay the debt.
I used to york for them and believe me, we hate to work on sundays, we hate people telling us all the time- today is sunday -dah we know that but that's our job and believe me, the company allows us to make the calls because is not ilegal. I just received $1000 credit towards any debts that are supposedly owed by me that Midland purchased. There was a class action lawsuit against them. If you want to know the details go to http://www.recordingclassaction.com/ - if you have had problems with Midland you may want to check it out and see if you can file a claim. It may be worth it!
These people called a neighbor that I don't even know and asked them to give me a message. I don't owe and debt.
Yes, http://www.bbb.org/san-diego/business-reviews ... diego-ca-101104 are predatory cowards, preying on your relatives and friends. You are also receiving unlimited calls from surveys, charities, as wrong numbers, and wrong names with many phone numbers spoofed. They are a corrupt business culture incapable of honesty and integrity. They do not abide by any state or federal consumer protection laws. If contacted by these lying, thieving, cowards send cease and desist through their BBB to expose their predatory habits and to also protect your relatives and friends. Then send complaints to all state and federal consumer protection agencies. They have multiple alternate names as noted under their BBB report.
My wife received call from this number this morning May-3, 14 by a female voice. She said she called from Chase bank in regards of credit debt.. and need personal info.. My wife ask for the contact enable to talk to her later. and she gave phone. no. 1-800-265-8825 and ext. 53382.
I did not call them back as i knew many people got the same scam call
Please stop calling my work. They call constantly and dont give up. I dont even know who they are.
Called for someone who hasn't worked with my company in six years (I actually took their position). Gentlemen questioned me (very rudely) and when I told him I took her job, he finally got annoyed and hung up. Number that called was 1-800-265-8825.
I received a call from this number and don't know how they got my mother's phone number. They called on her phone.
The DNC is for telemarketers only, it does not cover debt collection which is under its own set of rules the FDCPA!
"Adam Blund" at MCM (Midlands Credit Management) called for the umpteenth time so I finally answered. I played along as "Brian" who owes $587.00. When I said I'd send a check after getting their letter (ooh, yes, sir, we'll send a letter to.....wrong address!), he gave me their address as 8875 Aero Blvd, Suite 200, San Diego, CA., tele 800-265-8825, his ext. 54917.
He told me I could pay "only $387.00" if I wanted to get a pre-paid card from WalMart.
Me: "ok, Buddy, hold your breath until I can get it to you!"
Him, in Oriental.....huh?
Me: No, really, just wait.....
I want to know too
Is these people really that bad for over 500 complaints cuz this is on my credit report And im trying to be debt free and im thinking to just let go and let it be taken off when it says it will be off ....
I called this number to settle my lil debt i have and i barely could understand him..it seemed that he had people screaming and hollering in the background and that threw me off like shouldbi even send my money to these people.. Im still trying to figure out if these people is real or not cuz it will be off my credit report Hopefully soon...
So I have been getting the same calls. I requested for them to stop calling me, not only did they not stop, they started calling me every 30 minutes for a couple days, now they call at least 3 times a day. I got a call today at 11:54 am and just again at 2:55 pm. If i dont give them the information they request they get upset and will call back and if I answer they ask for my name then hang up. I feel like I have to change my number just to be left alone. When I ask for their information the man with a pakistan accent, he tells me his name is Jerry Jones, I ask for their number, he gives me a number and cant repeat it a second time. Really
it is a collection agency you owe some company and now it has gone to collections and they are handling it. they actually settle on bills that you owe
This number and company is out of control and ridiculous. Not only are they calling me on my cell, they some how have obtained my work and cell number. This is a huge embarassment.

Yes, it is a total fake.
Fed up with the calls? Capitol Hill is responsible for this mess.
(Our corrupt politicians).
Check out the link and see what I did to these credit card collections hogs.
Don't give these scum-bags one bit of info and not one red cent of your money.
If people would quit paying these bottom feeder collection agencies, they would
Check out my video and see what I did to these credit card collections hogs.
Go to YouTube and look for the video called: What To Do With Credit Card Collectors.
I apologize is a ! not ? ... my bad.. long morning and no coffee yet !!
If you have an Iphone (or any other cell i don't know how to on others) Go into your recent calls and fine the call and click the ? next to it and scroll all the way down and block. it kept the calls at bay for a month or so.
These jerks call my husbands cell phone all day and night (he sleeps during the day so they constantly wake him up). They ask if this is "Jennifer's phone". He rightly says no it's not as that's NOT my cell number.. They never ever call my cell but rather harass my husband. I've sent POD letters to them with no response! I have the certified letter proof of it's delivery so I can use that against them. The SOL in NH is 3 years which all this debt is well past. I just obtained a full time permanent position (after 3 years without) and the company I work for has legal aid as one of it's perks. I have already spoken to an attorney and they say that I have claim to file suit against these people for violations of the FDCA. This company needs to be closed!
