The website is bnd.ca or bnc.com (in the US) .  When I call 800-266-0333 it is Dunn and Bradstreet and the receptionnist told me it was normal. I asked a return by a french representative (it came from penselvania!!) and they said it was normal.  They gave me a little information about what they have in their database (it was an 8 years outdated address) and they said there was almost nothing ito that call.  

DNB is a competitor of Equifax in Canada.  A little weird but they asked me very publicly available information so I confirmed. I will call in a few months to check if they updated my account.  

(by the way I never spoke to them before and never did business with them.)

I get a call from this number every day - can we put these people out of business - let it ring - they don't leave a message - perhaps if no one accepts their calls they will be forced to fire the people they hired to bother us.

I am a locksmith in the Toronto area and we are hit on a regular basis with boiler room scam artist trying to sell SEO marketing programs, I do not know who these clowns are but they have called me several times and I only answer hello now any time I see an 800 number. If they are truley trying to update a data base they could go about it in a much more professional manner than this. I do not imagine they collect verry much information of any value at all in this manner, I suspect that they will likely soon lose any credibility with the industry they supply this information too. I wouldn't pay them squat, at best they could only be collecting unverified hear-say.

This woman also called our work, and asked to update our information. She then asked for which bank we use and the exact address. I again asked where she was calling from and she said D&B canada. I said I was googling her and visiting her website - she said thank you for your time and hung up. SCAM SCAM SCAM!

I received almost the same questions of everyone here but they politely hang up when I answered : Why do you need my personnal adress ? I still don't understand the purpose of this call.

They called yesterday asking many questions about the copmany saying they are a directory company, foundation dates , name of president and then many question about the bank, I aksed why they are asking bank quesiton and then they hang-up! Be careful sounds like a scam...

Someone called,for a survey...... asked all kind of questions about my compagny......and also wanted to know which bank do I take my business too??????????
When I didn't have the adress of my bank they hang-up......

I received a call (in French) from someone with a thick Creole accent (Haiti), asking me if this was Company X; however, the name was only partial. He mummled when he told me the name of the company saying (mumble) Cana-DA. He asked to do a "survey" of the company and he immediately proceeded to ask questions about banking and our financial situation. I told him I wasn't interested and hang-up. They've called back twice today, different people, different languages.

Caller wanted information on our company.  None was given.

They called and presented themselves as D&B and I automatically assumed it was D&B Canada  (Dun & Bradstreet Canada) and wanted to confirm what seemed like business directory information (address, phone #, fax #, name of president and when started doing business).

They keep calling me and I wont answer now! Sometimes the number ends with  666 but the rest of the digits are the same.  Very annoying.

Do not give ANY info to Dunn and Bradstreet - they used to be THE SOURCE for credit info, but NOW are just spammers and telemarketers. I made the mistake of talking to them ONCE, and they wrote my name down wrong - I have been getting mail for that 'wrong name' for YEARS... it's on a list that will never die... D&B = Dumb B@stards...

They called me and (uncharacteristically) I picked the phone up and said "Hello" (my number is a residential phone, not business). A woman asked to speak with "Fred" in some division of some company. I said "there is no Fred here". She said,, "well, is this 'Tito's Auto Supplies". I said, "no". She then asked if mine was a business phone number. I said (rudely), " Look, I told you there is no Fred here and this isn't 'Tito's'. We hung up on each other. So far, no further calls from these folks. Amen.

got a phone call from them asking me to confirm info aout our company i put them on hold and they hung up...didn't call back yet :P

They called me yesterday (may 10) and said they were with D&B calling to update our info. Since we have so many accounts that it's hard to keep track of, I stupidly assumed we had an account with them and proceeded to update. Somehow they already had the address and phone and fax numbers, but they just wanted to verify. So I verified it. They didn't want to know bank info or anything else, besides a contact person of the president. Since we are currently switching presidents I told her so and said to just put me down as the contact person for the time being. I told her once we change presidents I could call her back and let her know, but she said no, I'll just call back next month. That struck me as suspicious, because any real company that we have accounts with would like to know that kind of info right away, so after she asked a few more general questions about the company I just started to say I wasn't sure and would have to get back to her and she would reply, oh no, it's all right we'll call back.

Then today all within 2 hours I've received at least 10 calls from this number. And of course they don't leave messages. So as soon as this number calls I've been picking up and then hanging up again right away. It's beginning to drive me crazy, especially since I have legit business to deal with

I got the exact same phone call. When he asked what bank I use I said why do you need to know that, then he hung up on me, so obviously a scam.

they called me at work and said they were D&B and asked me was this your number and fax and is this your address.... they said they were updating, and they already had everything on file. and they just asked if i was afillieated with any bank i said yes and she was like ok. thank you for your time. they never asked which bank it was.

I have now received 17 calls from this #.

They have yet again changed the Caller Name that shows up on my Call Display.

Now I see:

They called every 10mins today from 9am-2pm. Fortunately, I've blocked their call and wasn't home to receive it.

As of April 7th, I have received a total of 15 calls from this number in the space of 22 days.  At 15 calls, they have now distinguished themselves as being the most persistent nuisance caller I've ever had (beating the last guy who only stopped after calling me 14 times and my reporting him to the Better Business Bureau).

These A--holes are persistent. They call me 3 to 4 times a week for the last 4 weeks. I just ignore their calls. Those who don't want to leave a message are not from a reputable company.

Same story as several above, woman wanted to verify address and basic, freely available info, then began to ask q's about ownership at which point I terminated call.

So far I have received 6 calls from this number in the past 7 days.  3 of these calls have been very early in the morning (a couple of them waking me up).

I find that the caller id information that is shown on my telephone has changed since I received my first call from them.

I would suggest that, because they seem able to ALTER their call display information, they are probably scammers (despite claiming to be Dunn & Bradstreet).

Called me today and wanted to know our business info, said they were updating it. So they asked our address and confirmed it, and then proceeded to ask who is the owner, how many people own it and asked who the president was. When I cut her off and said "I thought this is a quick update on our address, not our personal business info" she said "it's only going to take a minute" then proceeded to ask our average yearly revenue, so then I responded " That's none of your business, this conversation is over" CLICK!!! So ridiculous, if you want to update our current address, fine, but don't start asking us personal information that we don't publicize.

The lady that called wanted data confirmation about our company. Don't know them at all, so gave her nothing and hung up. Sounded like not a legit call.
