I think it is legit

Get calls from this number al the time but I do not have Progressive Insurance. Never give out your DL number. When you get your insurance they need your DL number to check your record so why would they need it again. If it was important they would leave a message.

Same thing as Troy. Called the regular Progressive number, and they siad they had no records of trying to call me. Most likely a phishing scam to steal identities.

The same thing happened to me and I did the same thing that Laura did and called my insurance company Progressive instead of following the instructions. Same story. Don't call this number and don't give the code.

An automated message claimed to be my insurance provider and told me to call this number and give them a code. I called my insurance provider's actual phone number and discussed with them, and they had no record of this call being made or why it would have been.

Legit.
I called Progressive directly, and the guy confirmed that this number was from their automated system to verify driver license numbers.
BTW, he was just as happy to take care of it in person.

Got a message from Progressive that said to call this number back because they needed to update my drivers license info. I called 1-800-PROGRESSIVE instead, and it turns out they did have a note on my account about needing updated drivers license info.

I called. I am pretty sure it was legit. They had all my insurance information already, they just needed my DL number because I had a NJ one when I signed up but have a PA license now. They knew my address, email, policy number and everything.

I got called by this number 3 times yesterday! I never answer call I don't recognize and they finally left a message. I finally listened to it this morning. It was the same automated message described above. I have not receieved any emails and I have also logged onto my insurance account. After searching the number, I see it is only associated with spam. Don't call this number, if it is really important, I am sure a PERSON would contact you.

I also received a call claiming that they were my insurance provider. I too did not give my info because I always request that my provider contact me by email. Don't give any info
