perhaps but it is ILLEGAL TO CALL A BUSINESS trying to collect a debt owed by potentially an employee. and yes the BUSINESS has had the same number for TWENTY YEARS.
dontgothere 2013-11-24 23:34:40 Unknown
sorry not buying it. the busness has had the SAME NUMBER FOR TWENTY YEARS. IT'S A SCAM.
dontgothere 2013-11-24 23:34:01 Unknown
well that tells us EVERYTHING we need to know. it's MOST DEFINITELY A SCAM. tell them it is ILLEGAL to call a business looking for someone. as for you being an employee. YOU ARE ONE OF THE SCAMMERS, DIMBULB. the number they called TODAY, SUNDAY, TWICE WITHIN A 60 SECOND PERIOD IS A BUSINESS LINE. THE BUSINESS OWES YOU NOTHING. TRY AGAIN SCAMMER.

robot message- debt collector. contacting me at work.

I'm in the same boat with most of you and tired of being bothered by these annoying calls. Everytime they call, it's for a different "garbled name," and if I'm not "garbled name" to call back at the number, which happens to be the same one listed on the caller ID. If this were a real collection agency, I shouldn't have to be the one to call back and inform them they have the wrong person. Further, I did try calling back one time and got a message stating my "call is very important" and "someone would be with me shortly." After over 30 minutes on hold, listening to the same recorded loop, I hung up.
I've had my home phone number for over 24 years, so there's no excuse about someone else previously having my number, nor has anyone else lived at this address. The few bills I have are all paid early and I've never had a late or missed payment.
For those who have posted about this being a legitimate collection agency, in writing as garbled and incomprehensible as the recorded name, I suspect you are probably one of the thieves who are responsible for making the calls.
I file a complaint at www.donotcall.gov everytime they call.

caller ID indicated the following name : COLL CO OF AM. No one on the line assume it was an automated call
Amy 2012-06-11 23:50:05 Unknown
AND OF COURSE THE NUMBER IS BUSY!!! WTF?!?!
Amy 2012-06-11 23:48:55 Unknown
Or they are calling because me and some random person share the same first name and THEY are idiots who apparently can't research for s***! That person doesn't even nor has she EVER lived here! Recording says to hang up and call the number to have it removed from the system. That only works if 2 MINUTES AFTER I HUNG UP, the recorded freaking voice wasn't still on the damn line. Really? HANG THE FREAKING PHONE UP SO I CAN CALL AND TELL YOU HOW STUPID YOU ARE!!!
Not Nicola Brown 2012-04-28 19:12:54 Unknown
I get calls from CCA daily. I attempt to return the calls, and they never answer ... from ANY phone I've used to dial them. They may be "legit" to you, but they're dialing my phone number to reach "Nicola Brown" ... and I am not Nicola Brown (who I assume is a woman). I am a male, and have no debt. THAT is pure daily harassment. If they are legitimate, then maybe they will respond legitimately to law enforcement when I report them for harassment.

I can tell you how, They do an online search of you and your family members come up they look up a number for them if there's not a number for you then they call them to get in touch with you. They try to get your brother/sister to give them your number but if they don't they ask them to contact you

Wonder if these calls coincide with those people getting shot in my city. There seems to be quite a few people getting shot over something they don't know about. Better check your city as well and the names being left on your answering machine.

The name of the company that showed up on my caller ID for this number - 800--268-9806 - was CCA. What's funny is that 800-203-1552 used to be the number of EOS CCA. If they are legitimate debt collectors, why would they change their name and phone number(s)???????????

This collection agency is looking for someone with my same name but different social security number. The number they call is to my 80 year old parents home number and its very constant. I called and asked to stop, and still they continue to call. Help please.

I answered the call, an automated voice for someone whose name I have forgot, then prompted me to say if I were this person to press 1, or if not the person press 2. After pressing 2 it asked if he was not here press 1, if unavailable press 2, or if this person does not live at this address press 3. Hopefully I won't get any more calls.
Norma Dalton 2011-06-06 20:57:26 Unknown
Asked that I call them back. They said it is not a sales or solicitious matter

This company has been calling my house for weeks now. Every time they call, they leave a message saying to call them back within the next business day. I called them today and they are looking for the deadbeat ex-girlfriend of my current boyfriend. How the hell this collection agency got my phone number is absolutely beyond me. Our house phone is listed under my name, and I have absolutely no connection to her what so ever. I am furious and I don't understand why they are calling me!!! This chick has caused us enough headaches, and I really don't need to hear her name anymore.
Matt 2011-06-06 20:57:26 Unknown
This number is always asking for "Jan Landon."
Chris 2011-06-06 20:57:26 Unknown
They keep calling me looking for my brother. I called them back and told them the person they are looking for doesn't live there and never has. They said they have the right to call anyone associated with them: relative, employers, landlords, etc... They said if I tell them he doesn't live here after the first call they have to stop calling the number. Bu***hit. They continue to call. They've told me he gave them my number as his contact number. Bu***hit. He doesn't even know my number. Places like this hire low lifes that can't get jobs elsewhere. They probably don't even know what they are doing is wrong.
stac 2011-06-06 20:57:26 Unknown
Debra J Beirs (or Beers) does not live at my number and I've had it 6 years.
I'm tired of these collectors calling me at crazy hours.

TRAPLINE!!
Do NOT call them from any telephone# you do NOT want them to ever have. The company is:
CCA
700 Longwater Drive
Norwell, Ma 02061
800-268-9806
781-753-4002
Whatever their reason is for calling you, and if they are calling you at the homes of relatives, they are doing so after a basic background investigation. Rookie investigators, given the right resources, can obtain many of your family's contact ph#s. When they don't know where you are, contacting all your immediate family is what they do first. This is Investigation 101. It is also the reason they give you the 800# PLUS.....a "REFERENCE NUMBER".....to use when calling. This Ref# IDENTIFIES YOU!!. Now they have you from a particular Ph# at a certain time of day. They are hoping to obtain a POE for you from this, then their attorneys can go after your paycheck to attach.
DO NOT CALL THESE NUMBERS from any and all companies doing the same thing, not from any phone# you don't want them to know of and remember that your assigned reference# IDs you.
WANT SOME REVENGE??.....call from payphones or any phone not traceable to you and alter the reference #s a bit when doing so. Don't change them too much, such as adding more numbers, for then they will just ignore the call, knowing it to be in error. Keep the same amount of numbers in your ref#, but change a few of those numbers. Then, their investigators waste a helluva lot of time chasing down those false leads to your whereabouts, but in those cases, to someone else's whereabouts, for your changed ref# may ID another skip they seek. THAT will cost them much time and money. ;)
REMEMBER THIS: even if the 800# is not a trapline (for I have one myself), any company's 800# works the same way!! WHY? Because they are paying for all calls coming into it and they get the data on the phone#s calling them, for they have that right to know where the calls come from since they are paying for it. It's not as simplified a process as a trapline, but ANY & ALL company 800s will get the same data. So, if you want to speak to someone there, use their regular ph#.

I am not now, nor have I ever been Daniel Douglas. This is the second time I have asked my number be removed from data.

Same story as the rest. Deadbeat moved on a decade ago. Never knew him. This is the callback number the recording gave me: 1800-268-9806. I called, they answered, but don't expect much. They call several times a week, despite my participation on the DoNotCall Registry.
