try the company that owns the number... maybe if enough people irritate them with calls, they might stop their irritating practice.  Maybe not, in which case you should leave messages telling them of your delight in abusing their sorry lives on your call, then, hang up, of course!

I've been getting daily calls from this number too. I finally called it back, and was asked to enter the extension or enter the first "3 letters of the person I'm trying to find." The automated answering service did not address itself, so I still don't know who/what it is. I'd think if it were Verizon, it would say so. I guess next time I'll answer and see what it is...

this is a call from Verizon FiOS - they called up requesting information on one of our accounts, and when i asked  the lady (her name was Belinda by the way) where she was calling from, she said the name of our account, but i didnt release any information to her because i didnt believe her, i called the client immediately, and he told me the lady from Verizon FiOS was not supposed to call anyone yet.

So there you have it -  800.269.3010 is VERIZON FIOS . Go figure only Verizon would be able to get away with this discod 8xx number crap. That must be their "sneaky" department.

4PM Wednesday 04/13/2010  I have received many calls from 1-800-269-3010 and they hang up immediately when I answer. I filed a complaint with the Do-not-call registry for what good it will do. Life is full of small frustrations but wouldn't you like to get you hands on these people!

1. Go into your Verizon (NYSE: VZ) (NYSE: VZ) Wireless Account on-line. "My Verizon" (Please make sure you have an account all ready or you just created an account)

2. Then Go To "My Services"

3. Choose the SPAM Control: There you can add up to 5 phone numbers that you do not want to contact you. This also prevents these #s from text messaging you.
*Press APPLY then you are done. They block these #s for 3 months at a time. So you will have to repeat the steps in 3 months.
*To Unblock these #s, do the same exact steps as above, except just delete the number you want to unblock. Press "APPLY" and the number is unblocked.

I took a call today from this number (after about a 1/2 dozen times of just hanging up on them) and actually spoke to a woman who claimed she was call from Verizon to review my telephone bill and that everything was good with the service. When I told her my caller ID did not reflect that the call was from Verizon she went out of her way to try to convince me it was, in fact, Verizon and kept trying to pry information out of me. I told her that when I see Verizon on my caller ID she would have a better chance of
discussing my information. With that, she said, "So, would you like to review your information now?" I said, "thanks but no thanks" and hung up.

Called no response when I said hello....  Its using a computer dialer that is sooo backed up, it cannot connect the operator to the person getting the call before they hang up.  Today being Voting day, I'm sure it is another one of those political calls as others have mentioned about this number.  It called back within 2 min of the first one.  I didn't answer this time.

But in the political world, they are exempt from the Do Not Call list, so what else can you do.

And as I finish this, I get yet a 3rd call from it. ... Sigh.

I just received five calls on my cell phone from 800-269-3010 between 2:38 PM and 2:49 PM on the same day. It was a kid reminding me to go to the polls tomorrow and vote. I asked him to put me on their do not call list and he laughed at me and said "sure" then hung up.

yah this number calls over and over again...and is blank - nobody there... I wonder, is someone recording our voice who answers to have our voice recording to then do other scams using our voice... technology...criminals.... so i now pay $5/month extra to add this number to the block list through at&t.  can add 15 numbers.

So far most people on here have said this call is from Verizon but I have ATT so I have no idea why they are calling me 3 or more times a day.  Freaking annoying!

This is a real scam, but one that may have the cooperation of Verizon.  They won't stop calling me so in this case I played along.  Woman said that "We realized you've been overcharged for your phone service so we're going to analyze your account to see if we can lower your bill."

I was going to ask her if her nose was growing but I held back.

She verified the phone number (correct) and brought up our latest bill which apparently she had access to because the amount was accurate. She said "I see here that you have just the one phone line. What I can do for you is..." then I heard a CLICK and the line went dead.

My guess is that the scam requires that I have a multi-line heft bill from Verizon (which I don't have) so this is their way of getting off the phone with me -- making it seem as though there was a problem on the phone line that caused her to get disconnected.

What a bunch of scum.

Call comes in as "Toll Free". I answered this time. A male caller asked for my husband by name. I replied, "May I ask who's calling?" He reluctantly said, "Richard." I responded, "Richard from what company?" His tone got sharp and refused to answer. He then proceeded to ask for my husband, by name, over and over and over. Nothing else. I finally said, "No you may not." And hung up. When I tried to call back, I received the recorded message: "This number has been temporarily disabled."

We do not have Verizon. We do not have accounts which have been turned over to collections.

I just had a call from 800-269-3010 on my cell which I missed and when called it was all static and couldn't understand what was said. Apparently the "do not call list" is no longer in effect.

They keep calling us. They say they want to talk to the person who is in charge of our Verizon account. Last time we just told them that we don't even have a Verizon account and the guy sounded embarrassed... This number has been calling me relentlessly. Today I picked up the phone and a woman introduced herself as "Vaneesha from Verizon" and wanted to speak to the person in charge of the account. As soon as I asked her what her call was regarding, she hung up. Very very frustrating. I've called Verizon to report this and they said that there was nothing that can be done.

I OF COURSE AM RECEIVING THE SAME CALLS.
I HAVE BEEN A VERIZON CUST SINCE 1994
I RECENTLY LEFT VERIZON BECAUSE OF MISCELLANEOUS CHARGE PLACED ON MY PHONE BILL W/O MY AUTH.; IN THE END AFTER I DID AN INVESTIGATION I FOUND OUT THAT I WAS BEING CHARGED 30.00 PER MONTH FOR VOICE ENHANCEMENT TO A NUMBER I USED AS A CREDIT CARD PROCESSING MACHINE WE HAVE HERE AT OUR BUSINESS. WHY IN THE HELL WOULD I NEED VOICE ENHANCEMENT FOR THAT NUMBER I ASKED. VERIZON SAID I AUTH IT UNDER A UNRECONGNIZABLE NAME. IASKED FOR THEM TO REIMBURSE ME FOR ALL THE YEARS AND CHARGES. THEY SAID THEY HAVE NO AUTH. OVER THAT; THAT I WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT THE THIRD PARTY WHO ARE 'ESBI" WHICH I DI AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD REIMBURSE ME FOR ALL CHARGES BY SENDING ONE CHECK FOR 424.00 AND THE OTHER PART OF WHAT THEOWED ME TO VERIZON AND THAT IT BE THEIR RESPONSABILITY TO REFUND ME OR GIVE ME CREDIT/APPLY TO ANY BILL I MAY STILL HAVE A BALANCE ON. SO IF VERIZON IS NOT AUTH TO DO WHAT IASKED OF THEM WHY THE HELL DID THEY TOOK THE REIMBURSMENT AND APPLIED MY LEFT OVER BALANCE TO IT AND THEN GAVE ME A FINAL BILL SOON AFTER. THIS ISSUE WAS BROUGHT UP IN THE NEWS RECENTLY ON HOW VERIZON HAS BEEN CHARGING MISCELLANEOUS CHARGES ON OUR BILLS AND CLAIMING WE AUTHORIZED IT AND THAT IT IS CONTOLLED BY THE FCC.
I FELT VIOLATED I TOLD THEM. IN THE END I DI GET A TOTAL OF 700.00 BACK.
PLEASE TELL ALL ABOUT THIS BECAUSE THAT 800 269-3010 IS VERIZON MISCELLANEOUS COMPANY JUST SIMPLY CHECKING YOUR NUMBER AND SCAMMING ALL OF US.
