Got the same call strange... keeps calling and noone talkings

We screen our calls, if we don't recognise the number/caller we let it go to voice mail. They never leave a message. It has been better than 3 months they have been calling....

This may be a scam.  Be careful.  The CCF is not listed at this number on Google.

If it is Christian Children's Fund, it is a wonderful organization that has helped hundreds of thousands of children throughout the world.  My wife and I have been sponsoring children through CCF since 1974 and we have never been disappointed at the wonderful work of Christian Children's Fund.  If you call back the toll free number they answer without hesitation and a live person will take the call.  You can ask them any question you want and they will give you an answer to all of your questions.

Number showed up, NO ANSWER on the other end.

I am a CCF donor and have been for over 25 years now.  I can agree with everything the other long-term donor has said.  We have 4 CCF kids now, we have had more and we have had less over the years.  Our first child is now grown with a child of her own, named after my husband.  So, please, please know this number is CCF and if you are a donor already just ask to be removed from their calling list.  I am on the national DNC but since I'm an active donor I'm still on CCF's list.  After rec'ing calls from this number the last two days I called them and they apologized and removed me from their internal list.

We have been getting this call everyday for about a month and never answered. We sponsor a child through Christian Children's Fund, so my husband called back and asked to be removed from the list and they very politely agreed. Gotta remember, it's a tough economy for them as well as the rest of us.

I got tired of receiving calls from this number that would hang up as soon as I answered, so I called the number back. A very polite and pleasant representative of Christian Children's Fund apologized for the phone calls and graciously offered to remove my number from the call list. We sponsor a CCF child and I was very pleased with the CCF representative's responsiveness.

Received call from 800-273-7582. I contacted Christian Children's Fund (just in case it is them)800-776-6767 and asked that they remove my name and number from their list. The lady I spoke to did not have any idea if it was their organization who was calling but promised to pass my info to main office. I sponsor a child from CCF which is a great organization but do not like any one to call soliciting funds.

I get calls from this number at least twice a day.  My caller ID says "800 Service" with the number 800-273-7582.  Have reported these calls to donotcall.gov. No message left, no other identifier, but often hear noise on the line.  If it is truly from CCF, I am deeply disappointed in their marketing techniques.

I get calls from this # intermittently - no one ever comes on the line and the call eventually disconnects - maddening, in that the calls usually come in just before 9PM our time...

Has anyone had an experience from the caller id:800-273-7582.

They call you and then play a song that is suggestive and threatening?

Got a call from this number today.  Have adopted and supported a child thru them in the past.  No one actually came on the line.  If i am to believe everyone that they are calling due to an emergency, i hardly think its a scam with Burma & China experiencing MASSIVE catastrophies recently.

Have gotten several calls from this number in the past couple of weeks -- never any messages left. Haven't answered any until today. When I answered, the caller hung up.

We have been receiving calls from this place for nearly a few months now.  I checked our caller id info to get the number.  1-800-273-7582.  I asked to have our number taken off the list and she was very rude about it.  Wanted to know all sorts of information.  Was telling me it was for a Children's Fund.  And just like JAS said above, they were calling for donations for an emergency.

I do not know how to take another approach towards this because I did not want to give her all of our information, i.e. address, names, etc.  So if anyone knows what to do, please help.

After nearly two weeks of hang up calls with no message left on my answer machine, I obtained this number - 800-273-7582 -  using *69. When I called back a female identified the company as CCF (Christian Children's Fund)and said they were looking for donations for an'emergency'. I was told no message was left as they wanted to speak to some one personally. They offered to remove my phone number from their call list.
