Trying to sell vehicle maintenance plan for a vehicle I no longer own.
Asked to be removed from the calling list, but hasn't worked. They still call.

i also get calls from this number. never anyone at the other end so blocked the thing. The phone company I deal with you can put in *60 and then enter the number to be blocked by following the instructions in the menu. They don't seem to give up even with it blocked. I figure if it isn't a scam then they should indentify themselves.

They call my number 6 times a day, they call 8:00AM, 10:15 AM, 12:00 noon 2:00 PM, 4:22 PM and 6:00 PM they don?t leave message. Finally I call HSBC asked them what is you?re problem you keep calling my number?
They told me that I purchased a product from Brick and we finance them! I told them we have the address why brick don?t send a bill if there is anything to pay? Why don?t leave message,
I decided never ever shop at the Brick or any shop they spurted there finance with HSBC.

I received an apologetic email from a Ms Michele Proulx/ ( michele.x.proulx@hsbc.ca ) But the calls have started again recently. Someone is using my number for an account, which is a form of identity theft. I do not have, or ever will have, an account with HSBC. I guess the only solution is to go unlisted. What a hassle!
sick of it 2011-06-06 20:57:28 Unknown
My message was aimed to n/a, who wants us to believe we are late with an HSBC payment. That's just ridiculous. It's a SCAM!

This is HSBC Collections department, You must be late on bills...ooops
MJOlsen 2011-06-06 20:57:28 Unknown
Use registered mail for the following procedure:
Write them a letter informing them that you do not conduct business by telephone, and demand that all future correspondences be submitted to you in writing. Inform them in your letter that following verified receipt of your letter, you will be fining them for each future attempt at calling you, and that any future attempt at calling you will be considered an acceptance of your terms and they will be invoiced accordingly. Inform them in your letter that they have, say 3 days, to stop all phone call attempts before you activate your fee schedule.
They will ignore your letters, most likely. Should they continue to call you following verified receipt of your first registered letter, send them two more, each spaced about 10 - 15 days apart, and each including an invoice if they've entered into your offer to contract.
Following the third letter, if they still haven't complied, enlist a Notary Public to seal an Affidavit and send a certified copy of that Affidavit to them, accompanied by a demand letter (which is basically your invoice).
The Affidavit will raise eyebrows at HSBC, you can be sure of that.

HSBC collections war dialing. 6 times a day.
Mitch 2011-06-06 20:57:28 Unknown
They call my house about 8 times a day, and no one in my household has a card with hsbc.. really getting annoying!!!!
DearMissMOON 2011-06-06 20:57:28 Unknown
It's Saturday Morning.... So far that # has called me 8 TIMES!!!!! I reject the call and they call right back!
This kind of harassment is ridiculous!!! Regardless of whether you are late on a payment or not, no one should be subjected to that constant bother. In addition, if you don't have the balls to tell me who you are on call display what makes you think I'm going to answer you? AND if you have the misfortune of answering that call...there's no one at the end of the line.
HSBC CAN TAKE A LONG WALK OF A SHORT PIER!!!!!
Bob Smith 2011-06-06 20:57:28 Unknown
They've called me 8-10 times a day, sometimes one right after the other. It's actually comical. I owe them 22.00 for my futureshop account. I've told them to no longer call my house and server me via mail. They have no choice but to do this as this is the communication method I have requested.
Either way the calls continue. I will NEVER finance anything through them again. No matter how badly I want it. I will wait until Ihave the money next time.
TOTALLY UNPROFFESIONAL
Jo Anne Kelly 2011-06-06 20:57:28 Unknown
just received a new cell number 3-4 days ago and the first number calling my new number is the one mentioend above which is HSBC
and this is absolutely ridiculous...
dont owe them any money
actually dont even know who they are
I want this to STOP AND STOP now....
this is absolutely unacceptable - does this mean that I am going to have to cancel my new cell number
or change cell companies
I am sick and tired of this stupidity and FIDO says in order to stop it I"ll have to pay 7.00 a month to block the number
again that's the PITS...and I wont do it.

i pick up they hang up!!! whats up with that.
A Martin 2011-06-06 20:57:28 Unknown
I am getting these phone calls also. They call and hang up. They also use a 1-514-252-5138 number. When I call back the 1-800 number someone says "HSBC Lorraine speaking" or today it is Ricardo, "can I have your account number?" I have never had an account of any kind with HSBC. I phoned HSBC customer service and they said they are not familiar with this number. It sounds like a scam to get people's names, numbers and account information. I think anyone experiencing this should report it to the authorites and do not even give them your name. I phone them back 3 times this morning to question them and got Ricardo every time. You would think a large company like HSBC would have more than 1 operator working! Beware!!
Fipino 2011-06-06 20:57:28 Unknown

Just got a new cell phone and cell number 3 days ago and this was the first call I received. No idea why it would be HSBC (I don't even have a card with them) or how they would get my brand new #.

I've been getting calls 6-8 times a day for a week. Finally called the number and on my second attempt I got through to a service representative at HSBC and they confirmed that someone used by number to set up an account. They say that they have corrected the problem and I won't get called again. If they keep calling I will post an update.
Solarman 2011-06-06 20:57:28 Unknown
harassment continues even after making payment arrangements, constant violation of collections act they will give the excuse that there auto dialler is malfunctioning even 3 days after account settlements have been made
sick of it 2011-06-06 20:57:28 Unknown
Yeah right, smart a$$. It's a scam, just like you! The point is to wear you down until you call whatever is suggested in forums like this.
adam 2011-06-06 20:57:28 Unknown
I have the same problem... My account is up-to-date but they still call me 10 times a day. So, I've figured out how to cheat them. If you create a contact (I call mine 'ignore') with their #s in it and your phone has the option to assign custom ringtones to contacts, create a 'silent' ringtone and assign it to their contact. No more ringing when you're trying to sleep or out for dinner or watching a movie or whatever!
