well I did find out from my attorney that they cannot harrass you at home or work place  if they do they are in violation of the collection act. and that you can sue them for it and your bills are automatically paid for the harrassment.  they only thing they can do is mail the bills . you really need to keep track of all the calls and at what hours they are callin  also ask for their name and who they work for. believe me they will owe you money.

1-800-279-3480 is a collection agency calling for someone who used to have my phone number.  I have spoken with them several times and they just keep calling back for someone named Oscar Rodrigez.  Major pain in the a**.  Disappointing that they have such outdated information -- I have had this number for a year and a half.

All the sudden, this number starts calling my cellphone which was just switched over to a plan. I figure it's easier to try to call someone when they have a plan. Anyway, I choose not to answer. We'll see how that goes lol.

They called me regarding Disability Insurance.  The State of New York hired these guys to verify Disability coverage and to collect any penalties due.  Spoke to Heidi.  She was actually quite polite and helpful.

(800)279-3480 has been calling my cell phone just about every day asking for some other guy named Chris.  I have informed them several times that this number does not belong to them.  The first lady was EXTREMELY rude, and snapped back "then why is his name on the answering machine?"  I was taken back.  First off, his name is not on the answering machine, this phone is tied to my company, so it says Nathan at ANR Computers. When I informed her of this, she called me a liar, and hung up on me.  Lately I have started answering the phone, and as soon as they ask for Chris, I ask for their name, and they hang up.  I am so pissed off that I could just strangle them.  I am going to start looking into legal action that I can take against them for harassment.

So anyone who lost their job several years ago in this economy and can't find another one even with college degrees and lost everything they had is a loser? Try paying for bare minimum living expenses on barely $200 a week unemployment and worrying how you're going to live when even that runs out in a year and be harassed by bottom feeder debt collectors who break all federal laws!! Not all people who had no choice but to default on credit cards and loans after they lost their job are losers, you moron!! I hope you lose your job and see what it's like, fool!!!

well you should think about spending money you dont have prior to using a credit card and then worrying about interest rate going up.  30 years ago no one had to worry about using credit cards because they would do something people now cant do....... SAVE THE MONEY TO PAY FOR IT unless it is an absolute need which most people thing a huge need is a big screen TV, hell cable isnt even a need its a want but people cant live without it anymore....... Banks started the problem not from their own doing its from giving people money they couldnt afford to pay back when they shouldnt have borrowed the damn money in the first place so think about it this way what is a friend borrowed money from you and didnt pay you back would you be ok with that???????

This would be an ok comment if you actually used your head before making it. Take me, for example. Banks meddling caused the economy to belly flop, thus leading to cut backs, thus leading to me losing my job.

Now you want me to feel bad because I refuse to pay a credit card bill off? After they went up on my interest rate by 10%? You are as crazy as they are.

Tell you what. When you banks come pay my bills that I'm having a hard time finding money for, once again thanks to your meddling in the economy, then I will see if I can find some money to send you each month.

if they are calling you its because you havent been paying your bills. if you morons dont want people trying to collect money you owe them then dont get loans or credit cards! you all have horrible credit scores if this number is calling you it means you owe some company money and you are not paying them which means your credit report is probably s***. so stop complaining about people calling you cause your a dead beat who won't pay your bills.

What a statement to make ASHLEY...you know what's really funny, how banks borrow billions of dollars from US citizens (their customers)  and then hike those same people interest rates from 12% to 30% +  and think it's ok.  That what I find funny.  Hey what company do you work for?  I'd like to call them and commend your excellent work of posting b***s*** to forums when you should be doing your job.

yes you are so smart..they were probally only calling to ask for somebody else and as soon as you say its not you they will leave you alone..you guys dont understand that debtors lie all the time and say that they dont live there and they really do..if the number is listed to the debtor they can keep calling because they have reason to believe its the debtor.

Received call from them.....recording with abrupt femiNAZI commando voice said "HOLD ON". Considering I take marching orders from NO ONE I hung up before the toothless sub-human, knuckle dragging cretin came on-line and instantly reported them to donotcall.gov. I googled the number and found Alliance something-or-another - a pseudo-friendly name - they're supposedly in Pennsylvania....but who know, Satan operates under disguise from every point of the globe. My guess is that once again our credit protectors, TransUnion, EquiFax and Eq-whatever have AGAIN given my personal information. Naturally these corporate fascists want money to seal my records to outsiders. I owe no one, have no back debt. This is a phishing scam this smart person 'ain't buyin'. I bookmarked the info, will keep records for the next time they slither into my phone line, report them consistently and wait for the perfect moment to file for harrassment charges. IF THE LAW SUPPORTS IT. Will report it to consumer affairs in my state government. They WILL take action. Note: I used no curse words but as I've experienced this before the adjectives I use are entirely appropriate.
