I received the same message too. When I looked into it, the message came from the verizon wireless website. I called them and had V-text turned off. They said anyone can text random numbers without if being traced. You might want to call your service provider.

its a mass email going out and people are calling me to say that I sent them the message, what a scam!! Verizon should be able to fix this!!

Got a text message today from these jokers:

The sad part is that they sent it from a legit enough looking account, so I'm sure many people have fallen for whatever scam they're trying to run.
