Some ppl are in the dark about credit. This company educates and provide a service that helps dispute things that are not verified on credit reports. No Scam. There is always TWO sides to the story that you are telling. We only hear yours.

My call was from 888 214 2323 - super pushy, ask way too many detailed info on all of your card numbers, banking info.  Bottom line, they are charging 500.00 right away and 50.00 for a membership.  Wouldn't send me anything in writing.  Feeling like it could have been a phishing expedition and will be watching my accts for any unusual activity.  Glad I googled while I was on the lengthy call and looked up complaints about Educational Financial Services and found plenty,.

I have refused to give them any information.  I have also asked them to stop callin me. They call 4-6 times a day. When I tell them I am not interested, they either mock me or hang up.  Somehow they got my cell and won't leave me alone.  Any ideas on how to get them to stop?

Ok this company seems to not want to go away. Same scam new services incorporating wills and trusts, mortgages, etc.... http://www.vrtechmarketinggroup.com. Please write some feedback on this too please. Seems like another pyramid act and adding more services that sound legit. Also when I went BBB site it didn't show the high numbers as those mentioned. This company seems to have magically started back on a clean slate? Sad how these people manage to still hang around.

a few seconds agoAs I suspected, Financial Educational Services did not refund my money on Friday, June 11th, and I tried calling all day on Saturday, even during their business hours and no one picked up.  I called about 5 times on Monday, June 14th, and left messages to call me back, several times having Ashley tell me that Shannon Dunlap will call me back as soon as she gets off the call she was on.  I waited over an hour to hear back and I called back again with a direct number to Shannon, again (Which is 727-535-2175 Ext. 218) and finally got ahold of her.  I found out that it had already been 85 days since I requested money back and she agreed that they had a 30 to 60 day refund policy and that this was unacceptable.)  I told her my next call would be to te BBB and that they already had a bad standing with them with an F rating, if I did not get it back right away.  She replied that she would get it back to me in the morning on Tuesday, June 15th, bypasing the accounting apartment.  I have it all recorded, which is what you need to do wtih these people.  It's now Tuesday afternoon at 1:30pm EST, and she has not replied to my most recent message I left.  No refund or call back yet, but Ashly told me to call at 2pm after her lunch break.  I recorded all this too.  Will post more later for anyone using this 800notes page and whocalls me page to figure out how to get a refund from these people.

I joined with them and then decided to cancel.  I have talked with Several people, Chad, Wendy, Holly, and customer service.  I have been told since August 2010 that I would get my refund in 10 days.  Today is May 10, 2011 and I do not have my refund as of yet.  I talked with Wendy a few minutes ago and she told me I would hear from a 3rd party in 24 to 48 hours and would get my refund.  We will see.

I was taken by Financial Educational Services in Clearwater, Fl. I live in NJ. They scammed me out of $900 and I have been fighting with them for almost 5 mo. now trying to get my money back. I learned quite a bit from this. I had just lost my husband and fell for their line of how they could help me. All I get from them are lies and excuses. I am not giving up and I intend to get as many people involved, including the media, to see to it that they don't scam anybody else.

We are not affiliated with the BBB, You have to pay a fee to be affiliated with the BBB.  We as a company choose not to pay a fee. We would rather have our monies go to our customers.  We are no longer in business either.

I just got off the phone with Financial Educational Services. The first rep was named Tamara Poston and the second rep called himself Alan Darulla. I asked whether there would be a fee involved for their service and was told that there would be "no financial impact to you". They told me that this was a way for credit card companies to retain their customers that pay their credit cards on time due to the poor economy and the credit card companies losing so many customers to bankrupcies and the like. They asked me for the phone number on the back of my Visa or Mastercard. Since they said that they got my info from Equifax and Experien because of my high credit standing, I didn't get why they would need the phone number. The Credit Bureaus have all of that info already on their free credit reports and would have logically passed any info they had, especially public info like a company's phone number, which can be found on any company's website. Unfortunately, I did tell them how much credit card debt I had but was very suspicious when they wanted me to get my physical card out. Thanks to everyone who posted here because I immediately did a search of their name and the scam came up. When I went to BBB's site, it's easy to confuse them with the company that comes up when you type in "Financial Education Services" which has a A+ rating. Make sure to type in "Financial EducationAL Services" which reports their F rating and as of today had 74 complaints against them in the last 36 months. I'm glad I just hung up on them and didn't answer the phone when they called back. Call waiting comes in handy for that.

They called me at work which drives me nuts anyway.  Said they got my info from the credit bureaus because I am in good standing with my credit card accounts which I am.  Then gave me the speel.  I was leary about giving info on one of my cards, but stupid me, I did.  Then she goes to verify the account and puts the "qualification specialist" on the phone who give me the whole "pay off 3 to 5 times faster", "lower interest with creditors" etc.  Then tells me that those not in good standing have to pay $700+ up front, but since I'm in good standing they would just put it on the card they just verified.  That is when I said WHOA!!!!  "You are NOT authorized to make any charges - if you want to send something in writing to review that is find, but this call stops NOW".  He continued to push so I reminded him I am at work and hung up.  Then the bugger called me back!  I explained again that I am at work and they are not authorized to do anything on any of my credit accounts nor make any charges to my card.  He got very defensive and pushy saying "You didn't have an issue until the fee came up".  That is the part that made me feel like it was scam!  Wish I would have googled this while I had the guy on the phone.  Ended up hanging up again because he just kept pushing.

Just got off the phone with them.  The first heads up people is that you NEVER, NEVER, NEVER give your credit card number over the phone to someone you do not know.  When I asked them to send me the information in writing and I would look it over and let my accountant take a look, they hung up.  A reputable company would have no trouble sending me the information and letting me or my accountant look it over before giving out my credit card number.  You hear on the news all the time, DO NOT GIVE INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE!

you all are very gullible when it comes to a refund and shannon dunlap. she got you too..she pulled,  the same stunt at ffr and cfab of clearwater fl(look up these companies) you will see her name plastered everywhere. no she does not go around the accounting dept.to get you your money fater there is no accounting dept.she tells the clients this just get get more time so that they dont have to issue a refund asap. the owner of the company keeps as much money as possible, so all the employees has to help fix his nasty habits by not issuing refunds as fast as they should be doing.  believe me when i say that shannon dunlap is a very shallow person who has drug problems of her own ..all the managers there hang out together with the owner and they all go to strip clubs, gets arrested, go to clubs and these are the people you believed was going to help you..i still work thre or i would have signed my name but i still have to earn a living

You get on here and state that you knowingly work for a company that is scamming people of their hard earned money, state the consumers are at fault for not checking your company out and than you have the nerve to accuse another company of fraud...ARE YOU CRAZY??? who in their right mind would even believe a word that you say?? And the name of the company is Financial Educational Sevices, they do not go by any other name...check it out you may learn something...this company has never hurt anyone especially their employees(what other company gives out advances, pays peoples electric bills, give food to the needy employees who just started working, etc) the list goes on...Iam a former employee who worked for the owner for over 5 years and we did not seperate on good terms, but I will not sit back and read what everyone is writing without responding...it took consumers years to get into debt  and it will take time to help show the consumer how to get out of debt..only makes sense....

I signed up with FES last night (12/21) before reading these comments.  I called the toll free number and explained to the night supervisor that I wanted to cancel my account after less than 24 hours and wanted a refund to my credit card account.  I just hope they keep their word and the account is credited. I am such a moron for falling for a scam..

Just got off the phone with them about an hour ago and of course it's the same scenario as everyone else has described.  I did give my credit card number, exp.date, and last four digits of my social but then hung up after saying I wasn't interested and that I would'nt pay an upfront fee like that.  This so called supervisor, Allen Darulla, was very persistent and even said that if I only had $2000.00 of a credit limit available and wanted to charge me $1295.00,  would they be scam artists.  Well, YES you are.
My credit card company has been notified.

Just answered a call from the above 800 number and yes, they are out there!  And they are clever!  Told me they are working with credit card owners in good standing to reduce our rates and help keep our business.  She gave me the phone number, her name, employee id and extension--got me all the way to verifying the card company and 800#, wanted me to confirm my card # and that's where I stopped the conversation.  Watch Your Back, People.

I too received more than one call from Financial Educational Services. Although I was wary at once, I asked the guy Roman Smith, "Who gave you my name?" He said the credit bureau refered him. I knew right then it was a scam. I told him I wasn't giving any information over the phone.  If they wanted me to participate in the program, to send it to me in the mail.  Then a so called manager got on and wanted to know why I was so defensive, I said I'm not giving you any information over the phone. They kept questioning why, and once I told them i wasn't interest in the program, they said good luck with your debt and hung up.

At first I resisted and told the caller, Katie McKenzie, that I was very uncomfortable with her call and something just didn't seem right.  Regretably, I did give her my Credit Card number and she said they would send me a packet of information within 7 to 10 days.  I am to complete the enclosed forms and return it to her right away.  I will not be completing the forms or sending them on to Financial Educational Services.

I too received more than one call from Financial Educational Services. Although I was wary at once, I asked the girl that called, "Who gave you my name?" She said the credit bureau refered her. I knew right then it was a sacm. I ask her how could I just give her my information when I didn't know anything about her and she said they work with all banks to get our interest rate reduced. I told her I knew she was a fraud because my bank does not do this. She said if I change my mind to give her a call at 1-877-332-8026. I am wondering if anyone that has been taken in by these people have thought to inform the Attorney Generals Office about the fraudulent company. Maybe then they would be prosecuted and put out of business.

They just called me:  Says their agency is Financial Educational Services, located in Clearwater, FL.
They are currently in the process to see if I "qualify" for their services. They took information about one of my credit cards, which scares me.  If the charges are going to be as much as some of the other messages about them, I am going to refuse to participate.  They can't charge your credit card without your authorization, can they?

My refund was credited to my account on 12 November.  That was after phone calls-- it was THEIR nickle-- and emails.  Ms Dunlap blamed the slowness on their accounting section.  Seems to me it is everyone from the top down who is to blame.  Their record with the BBB in Clearwater is 53 complaints and 4 serious ones.
