Even though we have been on the national do-not-call registry for several years, we still get calls from places like this.

Christine Ryan @ ext 102 called and left a message for me to call back. This was a sales call.

We also were lied to!  We were told he just needed one more business to fill the slots on a poster for the University of Dayton basketball team schedule.  I also contacted the TV channels and they said no spots were ever run.  I then contacted several of the other businesses on the poster and they were all told the same story!  We also found out the posters were never distributed!
This company is a scam and if they ever show their face in Dayton, people will now know about their game!  They have an F rating with the BBB, so that should tell their story!
I also called David Brown numerous times, left messages and never received a return call.

DO NOT BELEIVE ANYTHING THIS COMPANY SAYS TOTAL RIP OFF.They called me for about 2 months trying to get me to advertize on UNCC Basketball schedule,which I finally agreed to because they told me that my business ad would be seen in color on 1/2 screen on channel 33CNN Headline News and CH68     ESPN2.I kept telling them that this was hard to beleive but after calling several hundred times and putting this in writing I was finally confinced.Now I have looked for my ad on TV since Nov.16th and have yet to see it.I WAS RIPPED OFF and it makes me mad because I have a small family owned business and with the economy I have been struggling.I talked to Bill Riggs and he promised me I was not taken advantage of but now I can't get anyone to answer any of the phone numbers I have.This company needs to be stopped before they take advantage of other poor people like me.

Scammers.

We participated in a Dayton Flyers Basketball printed schedule. 14 vendors participated and we were all promised TV and radio spots. I asked for a schedule of TV and radio purchased. I got a single page fax of only a few of the air times needed to fulfill the agreements - from a FOX affiliate. I called the affiliate and they commented it was an unusual purchase, but that was the entire buy. I asked BCI to send the remaining buy agreements and nothing came. I never sent the second half of the $375.

I called half the participants and none had heard either radio or saw TV ads. I gave up and moved on. I paid half up front because I've had experiences in the past with illegitimate ad agencies.

Got an aggressive call today to pay my balance. I said I would when they prove the ads ran. The guy says they already did and it would be a lot of work to go back and find what I was asking for. "It's only $137 dollars, just pay it", he said. I told him he was a scam and he told me they were legit and in business for some number of years. I told him that it would be no problem to show me what I wanted just like any other ad agency would. He went back to pushing me for the money that I "agreed" to pay and I told him I would call the Attorney General of Kentucky about this - but you know it won't be an issue because I'm in Ohio - right? He hung up on me.

They prey on small business who think they are getting a great deal. Your not. They call out of state because you have no recourse. This is a loop hole that has excisted a long time and with the internet has proliferated into other areas.

So beware and always pay half up front. And if the "agreement" is an email or on letterhead and both parties responsibilities are not clear. Run.

Along with the phone book covers we where told we would also get (double TV) 60 commercials and 20 announcements on WAMB FM 99.3 Simulcast on 1200 AM radio.

We all got the covers, NONE OF US HAS had our ads on TV or the radio!

Since February I have called David Brown as well as Mandy they would either say they are taking care of it, or would never call me back.  20 something calls and now it's 8 months later!
 
Now I have sent 3 e-mails asking  for our  money back. I needed advertising in February  as promised!

A man by the name Bill  Riggs sent this e-mail I think we ALL should bound together and fight this.

The TV spot was mailed to the television company over a week ago, It should be airing currently. We have contacted the television company and are awaiting their reply. The air dates are approximations for exactly this kind of event.

Rember folks this was due in February!

We got a phone call from the same business last week. The lady talked my ear off and had the same things to offer. Vinyl Phone book Cover and Television advertising...she was very pushy and told me that we would be the ONLY one (of our kind of business) in the area who gets to do that...yeah right! So I told her I need that in writing cause my manager makes the decisions, not me. She actually faxed me a paper with info on it. Their name is Business Concepts Inc and they are located in Florence, KY. She called back a few days later to ask if I talked to my manager and when I said that we're not interested she said "ok bye". Today, we received another phone call from the same company with a pushy, unfriendly person...but I wasn't here...so the person left name and number..but I'm not going to call back.

I'm just wondering..if they do advertising..how come they don't have a website??

I got a call from this place today.  The caller was Cassie at extension 122.  She was very pushy, quite rude.  It was a sales call.  Her pitch was extremely vague...something about advertising on a plastic cover for the local phone book with a local realtor (Century 21), but she said that there were radio and TV ads in the campaign as well.  She kept saying over and over that she was on a "drop dead deadline" and tried to rush me to an agreement.  She was reluctant to email me the information, and when I tried to give her my email address she asked, "Listen, it takes a lot of work for me to email this to you.  So, are you really interested?"  I told her that I was not going to beg her to send the info, and she got extremely defensive.  I told her we weren't interested and hung up.
