These people called my parents for me ... or my ex-sister-in-law with the same name. After I stated numerous times that her name and my name are the same (as if the first time wasn't obvious enough), I asked for information to verify that the account was mine because I get calls daily for her - sad but true.
The odd thing to me is that he asked me to verify my DOB and SS ... which I refused - I never give that information over the phone. He asked again, and I again refused. He then placed me on hold, came back about a minute later and said "my system is frozen, is there a way you can call back?" I was shocked, as I could hear people in the background clearly typing and reading from the screens, I asked him to call back when the system was up and running ... 3 hours ago. Still nothing. I think of it this way - you called me for a debt so you have my info, read it to me and I'll verify. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think this is a spoofing scam as Halstead is a credible agency but does not use this number, according to them. Interesting, huh?

Yea man...I live in arizona, and they garnished my wages after i avoided calling them back..my pay day loan was only for 510.00, i ended up forking over close to $1200 ..My advice is just pay them ...it was pretty embarrsing getting a call from my human resources and finding out im being garnished ..wish you luck!

I received the same message on my voice mail at work but he did say his name is Tim Bernstein. Does ANYONE know what the legal matter may be about. I went on line and it says this is Halsted Financial Services that they collect on charged off accounts. Such as credit card, payday loans. and etc... Can they garnish wages if it is an internet payday loan in Arizona??????
