Mike,

I have not downloaded ANY whitepapers from you or any other party for that matter.  I don't even belong to any of the websites you have listed in your posting.  So how would you get my number?  I even called the 800# back, and they give you the option to come off the call list (within 72 hours); unfortunately it has been 4 weeks now and I am STILL receiving these calls.

But now instead of just calling for me, you are now asking for my husband, who doesn't know anything about the IT industry or what a whitepaper is, how would that happen??

Please post "How to be removed from our call list" ASAP.  That would be the most useful post you could do right now.

Thank you.

If you call the number back there is an option to have you number removed from the call list. I have tried it, hopefully I won't get more calls than before.

Yes, we are no longer required to leave voice messages because they never got returned and were a waste of our time!

We do sometimes use automatic dialers when calling our customers and prospective customers as well.  We are not calling to demand you hand over your wallet right there.  We want to assist you with information (if you need any) on IT training courses.

Most of the people we call are members of our partners websites such as Techrepublic, TechTarget, TechWeb, etc.  If you download a whitepaper from any one of those sites, and you have your legitimate phone number on your account with those sites, they will refer you to us as someone who might be interested in pursuing IT training courses.

If you would like to call back our number, feel free. Just please be nice about it!  We are working professionals helping other professionals with their careers.

Another tip:  if you are a member of any of our partner websites, and you don't want calls each time you download a whitepaper or do a webinar, log into your account and change the phone number to something like all 5's, all 9's etc and you will still get access to those valuable resources.

Thanks!

I took a course with global knowledge once before, and the calls from them after never ended.  You ignore them, they wouldn't get it, probable you have to tell them you are not interested anymore.  Even though, I still wonder if that will help.

i got a call from this number today at work (dallas, tx).  after i said "hello", there was silence, so i decided to hang on the line for a moment.  after about a minute, a live voice responded.  it was from a global knowledge course that i had taken.  they were trying to sell me on taking more classes.  hope this helps.

I rcv'd one today too. I figured it was a telemarketer, so I let it ring. I'm in Toronto, so I highly doubt it was HG Co...

Mike-- the problem in my case is my company setup my training with Global Knowledge. I did not download ANY whitepaper from ANY of your partners' websites.

So in this case, your company, is purposely spamming my company's work lines (and my other co-workers) even though we're an Enterprise customer at a multi-billion dollar law firm located all across the US, whom has paid you an exorbitant amount of money to date. That is absolutely ridiculous. And to top it off you spoof your caller ID as "Hareld Glass CO". Bush league.

Global Knowledge will lose our business if this is how you will continue to treat your customers, plain and simple.

Mike,
There's a simple solution to this.  Include an opt-out function in your demographic form.  If we don't want a call, we'll let you know then, and you'll save both of us the opportunity for misunderstanding or bad perceptions.

I work for Global Knowledge and here's the scoop:

You may have downloaded a whitepaper from one of our partner websites (techrepublic, techtarget, techweb, etc) and it was related to the services we offer, which is IT Training.  We call to merely follow up and see if there is any information we can help you with for IT training.  We have a lot of business and management training as well.

If you do not want any calls from us, don't put in your legitimate number into Techrepublic or any of our partner websites!  simple as that!  You will still get access to those whitepapers and webseminars.

Yes, we sometimes use automatic dialers as the inquiries/followups are much easier to manage.  Yes we know about the delay between the time the call connects and the time it comes to me or one of my fellow reps.  We know it's annoying too!  But just be patient, someone WILL talk to you and all you have to do is KINDLY let us know if you do or do not want info and we'll understand.  We are not pushy by any means.  We just want to help out with information on our training courses and if you have any goals you want to pursue in the future.

We are at www.globalknowledge.com if you want to see what we offer.

Thanks!

Telemarketer
This is another Global Knowledge number.  They are starting to get on my nerves.  I told them a month ago to stop calling me.
