"Jay" is still scamming folks (Jul/Aug 2012).  Apparently what this guy does is say that he is getting you "a great deal" for cartriges/toner etc for your brand equiptment that beats out office supply prices.  What he is actually doing is sending out "compatible" versions that are purchased and shipped directly from other vendors (ex. Amazon).  This guy, calling himself Laser Technologies (aka Jay), markes up items up to 10x the cost of what they bought it for from other vendors (ex. $80+ for an item that he bought at Amazon for $11).  He also charges a 25% "restocking fee" although he doesn't actually stock the merchandise (again, has it shipped directly from Amazon).

Pretty sad that there are so many underacheiving folks in this world sustaining life off of the hard work and naiveity of others.

Wow!  No entries on this one since '09?  Laser Technologies is still in business at the same San Vicente Blvd mail drop address.  Apparently, they also operate out of Santa Monica at a phone number of 310-394-7270.
I first did business with them, in response to the $50 restaurant gift card offer, in 2009.  They screwed up my order (cartridges for the wrong printer model) but fixed it after several phone calls and a nasty letter got through to them.  They made me another offer in 2010, recognizing they had not provided good service in the past, and I tried them again.  Once again there were problems with the order, but they finally got it straightened out for me and I saved money.
I was solicited in November 2011, and "Jay" informed me the company was under new ownership, they were going through old customer databases, and they REALLY wanted to clean up their reputation.  I was offered an Apple iPad2 if I bought 10 items.  I needed laser cartridges and their price was not unreasonable, so I placed the $1,299 order.  Now we are 7 weeks into it, I got the iPad2 and most of my order, and I am struggling with EVERYONE there to get the rest of my order filled.  So far, I have communicated (phone, email, letter) with Jay (who may be Joe Mistretta, the listed owner of the company), Customer Service Rep, LeDawn, and salesperson, Brian.
Note that this company has an online BBB rating of "F."  Despite the good deals they seem occasionally able to give, I will not be doing business with them for a fourth time.  Three strikes, they're out!

I fell for the toner/ink sale.  I needed black ink and his call came at the right time.  However, I ordered only black and they sent me all the colors which I didn't need.  They also are not returning my calls and I never received the $50.00 gift card.

We received this call before and tried it out. We wanted to see if it was for real. We actually DID receive the cartridge. Yes, the first one was ridiculously priced but by the time we received the second one (for free), it made the price worthwhile. We did save money.

The second "free" one was sent separately and we actually had an initial problem ... we never received it. We called the contact number that we used when we had talked to the guy to order it (we were given a phone number where we could actually reach someone. We had no problems with him answering the phone and when he found out we didn't receive our second "free" toner, he had one shipped out to us immediately. We received it within 2 days I believe.

The citation listed above is for fax mailings. I don't know if he continues to do those but it looks like it actually has nothing to do with the phone calls.

The call we received again today was for toner. We received everything we ordered before and ended up saving money in the long run so yeah, this time we will call him back and see what kind of a deal he can offer us once again. It may be worth it, it may not be but I think it's worth checking out again. They fulfilled their obligation before, I have no reason to believe that they wouldn't again.

I reieved a call about 15 minutes ago from (623-238-6141) and i called the number they gave thinking i would get a chance to speak with any idiot that answers. Unfortunetly it was the same recording that called in the first place. I left them a message to remove our number from their system. As people are loosing their jobs i am sure that more of these bogus companies will be popping up in the very near future.

Just got a call from this same number. Don't remember hearing a name, but he says you will get a free toner or inkjet cartridge if you turn in an old one.  Also says the thing about the first 50 callers getting a $50 gift certificate.  No option to opt out.

Our office received a phone call at 10:30am on Friday, November 7, 2008.  The caller spoke about an annual free toner cartridge promotion, in which he asks you to press 1 to receive a free toner for a fax inkjet, laserjet, or copier, or he gives you the offer to call 800-291-6133.  In addition, the first 50 callers will receive a gift certificate for a local restaurant in your area.

I did not press 1. I took down the 800# and hung up.  I then went online to look up the 800# and found this blog.  Glad I did not bother to press ! or call the number!
At no point does he give the name of any company.  All you know is his name is Jay and the number to call is 800-291-6133.

Jay just returned my call.  I told him there was no "opt out # " to push and that we were to be put on the do not call list asap.  he stated that they would do that right away.  i did inform him that it was a law office he had reached and that he was not to solicit us again or we would find out where he was calling from.  He did tell me the name of the company was Laser Inks (it was plural so I think it is inks not inc.)
Tired of these people taking up my time at work.  Okay back to work...thanks all.

I got the same call, a recording from "Jay" - buy 1 get 1 free toner, $50 restaurant coupon. No company name, no mention of the restaurant name for the coupon either. The message was left on our recorder. When I did a search on their phone number on the Internet (be sure to use the dashes), I found a site that says the FCC issued a citation for soliciting fax machines. There's a hefty fine involved. I reported them for this call on the Do Not Call website, as all of our personal, business and cell lines have been registered since it started.

Received a call from this number on 1/28/08, 6:30pm.  The call was to my business phone, which is on the Do-not-call list.  Had to press 1 to continue, after a brief recorded into sales pitch (don't remember what they were pitching).  I hung-up.
