Calling at least four to five times a day...often without any response on the other end when you do answer.  Have spoken with them and asked them not to call, does no good!

My six year old was talking to them and was something about car.I call back and it was message for removal from list.I will complaint to Illinois att general office as my phone is on don't call list.

Everyday, several times a day, I receive a call from this number and two others within 20 minutes of each other.  The first call comes 1-800-611-8300, followed by this one and then 1-888-398-2271.  They call up until 9:30 pm sometimes which wakes up my children.  I used to give money to a wide range of charitable organizations but this harassment has caused me to stop completely.  I give to my church and the Seattle Union Gospel Mission.  That's it.  You give to one and your name is disseminated amongst the whole lot of them!

I sent the Cancer Fund of America a cease and desist letter threatening legal recourse, and the calls suddenly stopped. Strange way of collecting money for cancer victims - endlessly harassing potential donors. Shameful disservice to those cancer victims in need. I will never donate again.

The number belongs to the Cancer Fund of America.  We've gotten calls at least twice a day for almost a month, even on Sunday.  It's gotten to the point that we just don't answer the phone any more.

Many calls a day.  Never leave message when answering machine picks up.  Caller ID lists as "unavailable"

Fortunately, Federal law requires that anyone calling you to sell you something, collect past due payments, or ask for donations, are all required to display Caller Identification (CID). The only real exception is when there is a glitch in the system, and due to no fault of the caller, their CID does not appear.

The Cancer Fund has hired FA Telemarketers to solicit donations on their behalf. Most people are happy to give money to such a worthy cause, but their intentions are squashed when it comes in the form of a telemarketer.

Currently the number being used to solicit Cancer Funds is: 800-293-1268.

If you would like to be removed from the FA Telemarketers phone list you can call: 313-565-5901. People who have called to request their number to be removed from their list report that the person they spoke with was very polite and agreed to remove their name. It takes several weeks for the process to be completed?so, be patient.

A complaint can be filed directly with the National Do Not Call Registry at their web site. If you haven?t already placed your phone number on the DNC list and would like to, then visit here.

Call came at 13:07 on 7-18-07, a Wednesday, and was not answered. Other sites identify this number as the Cancer Fund of America Support Services.

They call and call and call and hang up.

I visited their website. There are many typos and mistakes and errors. If they are legitimate, they should spend some time fixing the website to look less like some kind of scam.

great contact an attorney and do exactly that for callous disregard and emotional trauma.

any company recieving a cease and desist be it non profit, collections etc can be sued once served with a letter certified return reciept. talk to an attorney regarding suit for non-compliance with such.

They called my house several times - said they were the Cancer fund - don't seem legit.

The machine picked up their call, but they left no message. I reported them to DoNotCall.gov and added their phone# to my call blocking service.

800-293-1268 calls me about three times a day. Mostly in the evenings

while I'm rlaxing at my apartment.  I don't answer because I have a

caller ID.   I did call them back and if I remember correctly a recorded

message said it was the cancer fund.  Very annoying.    I am on the no

call list but this number is driving me crazy.

We keep getting calls EVERY DAY from both 800-293-1268 and 866-296-2619.  Both numbers belong to CFOA.  Do these guys ever give up?

Was receiving calls from a 1-888 number finally got my husband on the phone and he told them in no uncertain terms to take us OFF their list and not to call our house again, asking the man on the line if he MADE HIMSELF CLEAR and they fella says yes, perfectly clear...then the next day began getting calls from the 1-800-293-1268.  I really don't understand why they are not included in the DO NOT CALL registry.

Got a Call from this number yesterday. The same number called twice today. I found this website after googling the number. Called the number back and got a recorded message telling me about the Cancer Society or some such and what they do for the cancer patients. After the recorded message and the beep, I left my number and told them not to ever call it again and to delete it from their database.

I too am getting calls from this number~800-293-1268!  It is so annoying~like everyone above says they do not speak when you answer and do not leave a message on my answering machine.  Why the heck can't something be done about this?  What good was the DO NOT CALL LIST?   I am disabled and I sure wish that all of these people calling would/could realize what effort it takes to get to the phone or answering machine.  I wish that they could have my DISABILITY!

I have looked up The Cancer Fund of America Support Services and found a number that has a real person that you can talk to.
The number is 800-578-5284 I left my name and phone number with this lady to have me removed from their calling list. I was tlod that this should be taken care of Monday when a Josh gets back in the office. I have also sent an email to support@cfasupportservices.org about this.I hope this information helps others.

I have been getting a lot of calls from this number serveral times a day. Sometimes in the am, around noon, and in the evenings. They never leave a message. They never answer when I say hello. I have sat on the phone for serveral minutes one day just to wait for a person to answer me, never happens. I have called the number back and left a message for them to never call me again. I will report them. I also left a message the same way they do to me. I just sat there and tied up their recording.

Why do these people CONTINUE to call you after you ask them NOT TO!

These jerks called and said they were from the Cancer society, I told them to take me off there list or I would hunt them down like a dog.

Send a certified letter, return receipt to Cancer Fund of America 2901 Breezewood Ln. Knoxville, TN 37921.  In the letter specify that you want all calls to (list your number) to stop & desist or you will take legal actions.  Then every time they call after that just makes it stronger for you to take legal actions and file a lawsuit for harassment. Then you will know that those donations are going to pay off their law suits and not in their pockets.

this charity is a ripoff. their efficency ratio is less than 1%.
It means they use all the money they raise on expenses, like penthouses, limosines, and big salaries. They should all get cancer for their shameful behavior. Too bad our government is so corrupt. We shoud be protected from these a***oles.
