I keep getting calls from this guy and all of the above comments are accurate.  Only when they call me they have my first & last name & my address.  All correct. They wanted to verify my SS# and when I said no he said I needed to get a lawyer asap cuz there is a federal complaint against me.  I called back and asked them to mail me the info a week ago and never got a thing.  I have a voice mail on my phone where he said he was with . INVESTIGATION BUREAU CRIME PREVENTION.  He sounds very convincing and insisting .

I urge every one that has had a problem with this man or group of man to report it to the FBI this is the site you can go to to report it,

Too funny!  The same idiot left us a voicemail and I'm thinking...what in the heck?@?  Can't EVEN understand him!  
Beware...there is also the scam where they 'claim' they are calling from Microsoft Help Desk and they claim that your computer has a virus that is affecting Microsoft's server.  When you ask them to verify, they have you go through step on your computer - and they ask you to verify a number.  that is the same number on your computer.  apparently everyone has the same number or something like that.  anyways, he says that if you don't pay then they will have to shut down your computer.  
I told them I would report this to the police and then they immediately hung up.  

He was Robert something. Said there was a federal crime reporterd against me and he had my SSN. What a wiener. I figured form the thick accent and fishy number that it was bogus.

Today he was Dick Miller, yesterday he was officer Sean Parker.

It is the same guy. He calls from two different numbers. The other one is 8009821278
Every time he calls, he's a different police officer and when you call back he says he was just trying to call McDonalds before he blasts off calling you perverted names and saying lots of abusive language.

Today, morning received call from this number they told calling from federal crime investigation filled case against me, did you receive any court notice? i said no. they told me case against tax crime. i told them ok, i will go to local IRS office, immediately if you disconnect there is an arrest on you. i told them, ok i will go local police office and talk to them. again immediately no you have to go to court and disconnected.

We just received a call from this number. The answering machine picked up but couldn't understand the accent. I think it was regarding an immigration problem.

Call blocker might be your best bet.  There's o way of stopping the calls from being initiated.  Also don't pick upon numbers you don't recognize.

Ignore them.  Total scam.  Operating out of India.   Anytime anyone with an Indian accent calls you and either (1) threatens you with bogus criminal charges or (2) tries to offer you something (like a loan or grant), you know it's 100% a scam.

There's been instances of such threats being originated in the US also.

They are basically trying to scare you into paying them money, usually by an  untraceable  green dot money pak , sometimes by Western Union.  Don't fall for it.  Also they'll try to get financial information out of you.  

Beware, take care.   You might get more calls like this because someone has your personal information, at least some of it.

received the same call, sounded like a foreigner, said to return the call ASAP.  Said he was a federal agent and that there is a federal crime against me.  very urgent for me to call.

so aggravated with these kind of calls.  wish I knew how that get my number, how do I or we stop this.

Also got a call from this number, same message, barely coherent.  Tried returning the call to see what happens; no answer.  Clearly a scam of some sort.

Yesterday the indian guy said he was Officer Daniel Martin, today he is Dick Miller. When you call back and get voice mail, it alternates between those two. This is clearly a scam.

These guys are Indian scammers that the IRS warned about previously. They use the names officer Daniel Martin of the "federal crime investigation department" and sometimes go by other names. They are scammers, do not give them any of your info.

Ive been getting calls from this number. A man left a message saying he is officer daniel martin from the federal crime and investigation department and that there is a legal complaint filed against my name. I can barely understand what else he says because he doesnt speak english very well. I find this hard to believe because I have never been in trouble with the law and I have not done anything wrong for any kind of complaint to be filed against me. This is very weird....
