THE PHONE NUMBER GIVEN IS 800-781-8379-NUF DIS INSURANCE. ACCORDING TO MY FATHER, WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO CALL AND CANCEL HE WAS TOLD HE COULD NOT CANCEL THE POLICY. I had the same problem. Come to find out the Ins was offered by my bank but when you call them they don't know anything about the Insurance. I did how ever get a viable phone number for NUF as of today 03/13/2014 their phone number is 800-781-8379.  I do not need their disability Ins. since I'm retired!

sounds like you're a glutton for punishment since you have "cancelled with this company numerous times".  close that account immediately and go with another bank.  show them you have a little bit of sense left.

I also was about to get all upset, close my bank account, get mad, paw the ground, etc., UNTIL I remembered that I had just recently 'bought' a 'NOW' green debit card through my bank, so I feel a LITTLE bit better now.  The thing is, I was told the charge would be $5.00 a month, not $9.95; maybe that's just a one time thing only, and then $5.00 a month.  I'll check it next month and see.  WHEW!   Beat off Alzheimer's again..........................for now!

These charges are all as a result of offers made by banks and credit cards that are free insurance for one year and then get charged. I called the 800-296-0244 number and talked to a very nice and helpful customer service rep who found four accounts for me. Two were from Citimortgage and two from my bank.

The Citi accounts were being charged monthly, buried in my payment and the bank accounts were coming out quarterly from my checking and I had not seen any until the most recent. number. I have asked for copies of all policies to be sent to me.. the rep said they would immediately send the hard copies.

You should be able to get the accounts closed at the 800-296-0244.

As of this morning, 5-22-12 that is the best info I have.

Just discovered $17.85 deducted from my checking account by NUF DIS INS. I have never heard of this company and don't know who or what they are. I have never authorized any payments to this company so how did they get my checking account number? I am making a trip to my bank (Huntington) in the morning. If I find out that this is some kind of scam instigated by Huntington, I am through with them. I plan to gather information and contact my local police, the BBB and the Attorney General of Ohio. This is purely B.S. I can't make ends meet the way it is and someone is screwing around like this?? Who wants to file a class action suit, let me know!

The same thing happened to me.  Wells determined it WAS FRAUD and gave me the money back.  I put a hard freeze on ALL my wells accounts and am planning to close them tomorrow.

In the meantime, this NUF A&S Ins co (aka scam artists) had the cajones to call me and left me a voice mail telling me they had the recording where I agreed to have this taken out of my checking account.  That was not true as I NEVER agree to these things and I NEVER give them a checking account number.  I'm filing a complaint with the Insurance Commission as well.

800-847-2900 calls my cell # at least three times a day.  I've asked them to remove me off of their list and the guy kept asking me isn't worth it to lower my interest rate. I finally had to hang up on him after I asked him 4x to remove my number cause he refused to listen to me.  And they are calling my home #. These calls need to stop.

American Home Mortgage billed me for almost a year until I saw it... AHM said they couldn't do anything, that I would have to call the insurance co. in Jax.  They said that they sent me an offer by mail that I had to actively refuse or that I would be automatically signed up!!!!! I told them I never heard of such a thing, what country's laws allow someone selling a product to put a duty on the target to avoid being sold something?
I called the insurance company in Jax who offered me 6 months refund at once, after getting to a manager - but if I wanted more I would have to write them.... MORE work for free, just to get the money taken out of my pocket while I wasn't looking.
THIS deserves a big class-action suit... against the banks, and the insurance company.

I also recieved the letter, called to cancel and was told it was already cancelled.  One month later the charge came out of my checking account.  Because of their draft I ened up with $100.00 NSF Fees.  I called and they said they wouldn't refund any fees, just the money they drafted. NEVER agree for automatic drafts unless you are sure!!!  They are almost impossible to stop.

I recieved a policy indicating that I purchased this insurance (National Union Fire Ins.) and will be charged $9.95 monthly to my Barclays Bank Delaware account. I did not authorized this company nor did I purchase insurance. I will try to reach the company again. I did not get a call, instead I got the policy in the mail.

Mike, you and everyone else who has been ripped off from this company might also want to check out the entries on 800Notes under the phone # 800-572-5848 to see just who (or more accurately) what is working at this place ripping you off.  They leave extremely nasty, vile and sometimes downright threatening statements under that phone #s comments with regards to customers who have been ripped off by this so-called insurance company.  Definitely complain to Wachovia and/or Wells (and I agree, we *never* had issues such as these irritating sales calls or anything of the like until Wells Fargo took over Wachovia and the customer service has gone completely downhill as well) at the number that you would normally use to contact them over any banking issue.  As far as I can tell, this NUF has been ripping off folks at various banks for a couple of years now and I hope that someone reading this might be putting together a class action suit or at least know how to get the ball rolling to prosecute this "people" working @ this "insurance", truly, as someone above stated, it really is robbing the American public without a gun.

I too received a charge for this amount to my bank account (Huntington) and learned that it is an offer that banks give .  They send a letter saying that they will give you the first $1000 of insurance coverage for free and then you have the option of getting addtional amounts added on, the premium for which is automatically deducted from your account.  You may want to check your bank mail to see if you received anything like that.  In some cases, the small print may say that they will automatically make a deduction if you don't respond within a certain time.  I hope that helps.

I am having the same issue, a company called National Union Fire Insurance have been charging me $23.85 every three months, I called them twice asking for this insurance I never ask for, they said they send me a paper work with the policy which I never receive, I ask to cancel that account and they said they need to send me the policy again to be read again to be sure I wanted to cancel, but I never read it before, that paper work never came to me, when I called them again, they said they did not have any account under my name or address, I ask them how in the world is possible the fact that they are still charging me that amont if they are saying this time that they can not find an account with my name? also I talked to them before so they find my name at that time?
two days ago they charged me again, now they didnt find me again but when I got upset by the phone then the lady said oh! you have a PO box , I give it to them , now she was able to find me, now they afirm they cancel , she gave me a comf. #, I ask her to repit that #, and the number she repit and two numbers were , I do not trust this supose cancellation. I believe I am a victim of a Fraudulent company.

If you have a complaint about National Union Fire, contact your state Department of Insurance.  Unwanted telephone calls can also be reported to the FCC (government).  You may also wish to make a report to your state attorney general office.  Contact the company (bank, retail business, credit card, etc. company) that is deducting from your account advising that the amount is in dispute; that you did not authorize it; and you believe it is fraudulent.  If you have to, Google the company, find the CEO and write to him directly.

Chances are you received some offer from your bank, mortgagor, offering a free year of accident insurance.  If you send it back, and do not drop it, in writing, it will automatically be deducted from your accounts.  The insurance is virtually worthless.

I got a letter from Huntington that said it would sign me up for 10k worth of insurance... I asked my dad if I should... he said, "Go ahead, if its free." So I did. But I didnt read it thoroughly enough to see that it was free for a year and then automatically renewed and began billing you. I called the 800 number and asked who they were and why the hell they were billing me for something (I was rather rude) because all my insurances were taken care of... etc. They explained I signed up a year ago... it all became clear. The woman I spoke to was extremely polite and refunded my money immediately.

I also called my bank to let them know I was a little disappointed to have them auto-subscribe me to something... I said, "So this charge of $17.85... I wasnt sure what it was and everyone on the internet said it was a scam or fraud --" she cut me off saying it wasnt fraud. The insurance lady was nicer to me than my banker!

Whole thing sucked, but relatively easily solved.

I have been a customer with Wachovia bank for more years than I can remember, then Wells  took over so I thought alright no problem not so on 3/24/10 I noticed an automated debit from my account from an Insurance co. I had never heard of for 25.95. I called Wachovia 1-800-number to see whsat this was all about the lady also told me the same amount was taken out of my accounton 4/26/10 my statement ended on2/23/10, she gav me the phone numberto the Ins.Co they said they had called me and I had auhorized this, I knew I had not as I don't need any kind of Insurance I am pretty well ccovered. I don't do business over the phone when people call me about  things they are tring to sell I tell them to send me the information and if I am interested I will contact them. I told the to cancel the insurance and I wanted both withdrawls returned to my account thy said they would return one but I would have to write to a gentleman in Jacksonville Fla.to get the other money I went to the bank and talked to a gentleman that takes care of a lot of my banking needsso he called the ins. Co and let me talk to a man there so he started telling me I had to write to Jacksonvill  I told him that this was not my mess and they could clean it up I ask to speak to his supervisor but he said his supervisor was out I then ask to speak to a supervisor I didn't care who' supervisor,  he put me on hold and when he got back on the phone I was told that all my money would be returned to my account.and it was, The manager of Wachovia told me that Wells Fargo  has telemarketers that was calling people and that they was saying they called me and  and sent me a 25.00 gas voucher which I never received and I never received an Insurance policy or any paper work so what good would Insurance do me without a  Iinsurance policy the policy # is the first thing ask of you if you have to make a claim.  they claim I gave them my account number I don't give my account out to anyone especially over the phone The american people are being robbed without a gun.
