It's the feds being cute.

The same day my new digital voice service with AT&T was connected I begin receiving calls from this number and others, which I believe are mostly from the same telemarketer ("ADT..").  Its unreal how fast after my service was connected that these calls started coming in.  I get several calls per day, 7 days a week, morning, noon and night. I never answer and never will but it is annoying to constantly hear the phone ringing.  I don't think there is any real way to stop these calls.  I am hoping if I never answer they will stop calling.

I just had my landline activated one week today and a flood of calls here too. 800-296-0885 one of a handful of numbers. I have registered my new number with the DO NOT CALL website. I have decided to set my voice mail message to reflect that I have registered with the do not call dot gov site and kindly request all telemarketers remove my number from their lists and refrain from further contact.  I have all my incoming calls logged so I have the numbers, times and dates.

This phone number 1-800-296-0885 is getting to be a pain in the rear end with all the calls especially on a memorial day week end. My ans. machine gets full of them for we don't answer any of them. on top of it my home is fully secured, by cameras and a 12 Gage shot gun with buck shot.

These people calling are pests, and our government is apparently afraid to get after them.

Like the others, new number instant bombardment from folks *claiming* to be ADT. This is the 4th different number and group claiming to be working for ADT today alone. Aside from telling them to put me on THEIR DNC list and that I am on the Federal list, I have used my providers facility to block further calls from this number.

In the last few days, since I've had my new phone number, they have been calling me at least twice a day after, I've expressed to them that I was not interested in what they had to offer and asked them to remove me from their call list.

i keep getting calls on my home phone (century link) unlisted number on the do not call list- I've had this number for 5 years but the calls started last week- I answer and it's dead air

My phone was just activated & I have had several calls from this no. I am also being bombarded with calls from security systems, health benefits, mortgage help & an injury claim grp. This is crazy!

We've had this number since last Monday and got a call within hours of it being installed. Twice a day some days.

we have had an unlisted number for the first time with this company for less than 2 weeks.  This call comes from this number 2xs a day and it is the o n l y  solicitor call that we get.  I just left a message with our new phone company telling them that they must havesold  our number to someone and that we are ready to cancel unless they have an  explanation.  We had thought this would stop after we changed from Vonage  to a l o c a l  long distance phone company.  Thanks  for the info  on this page.

I just changed my number but have been getting calls from this number also and also other odd numbers/ my number is private . is it any thing that can be done.

This company is unreal I am receiving at least 4 calls per day and I can't get them to stop!! Do not answer this number it's a scam.

Ever since I switched to a new provider (PhonePower.com), I've been getting multiple calls from this number.

I am grateful for PhonePowers number blocking system, however I'm not happy that my number is being shared, sold or distributed without my permission. It is not ethical for companies to share or sell or distribute your info without your expressed permission.

Why the FCC / DTC has allowed such impropriety to take place for so long is beyond my understanding but none the less, underscores a huge problem in the world of telecommunication business practices and how little privacy protection we the consumer really have, despite whatever laws are on the books.

We need tougher standards that are enforced, not just simply used as a means to placate the masses.

It's time we demand REAL ACTION from agencies like the FCC and the DTC. Take back control of your privacy and demand your rights!-------They are yours to demand!

Our new phone was set up and within 2 days--it started----I got me a phone where I can block calls--this number--8002960885-caller ID shows up as unavailable!!!!!

They just left a message on my voice mail saying NNNNEEEE! I thought it might have been one of those knights from Monty Python

Just got a new number 5 days ago. 3 people have it. But I've received numerous calls from this number. No answer when I answer and no messages left when I don't.

still calling feb 14...  I just answer "YEAH WHAT DO YOU WANT!  They then start stuttering and stammering... I informed them of the above $1500 in restitution.  but still they call.  I would love nothing more to take my phone and shove it up their...(well you know)  sick of these people...I call back and states @ is disc.

This is getting crazy. Same number 4 times a day. I have a new baby and these jack a***s keep waking him up. I have asked so many times to be put on their DNC list and still the calls keep coming. Can anyone help?

I've been getting these calls ever since signing up with CenturyLink. I get calls from at least 10 different numbers. I have been wondering if they sell numbers as well.

I have an unpublished number and I am still getting tons of crank calls, so I just disconnect my phone and only plug it in when I want to make a call. Then if one slips thru, I trace the call and make a note of it like places like here.

Phone rang 3 times. Friends in hospital or normally just keep my phone disconnected due to these nuisance calls, only way was getting any privacy. Plug it in only when I want to use the phone, since hit limit on what local carrier will block, so do not use my phone.

By the time my phone rang 3 times and I reached phone, just a ring tone, traced call to this number.

NSA, HLS, FBI, or some subversive, Obama operative seeking to harass TEA Party members - our names, phone numbers and more have been provided by our phone carriers - either voluntarily or by court order from Obama's Justice Department jack-booted thugs.

If you call the number back, and chose the option for customer service, they are very nice about removing your number from their call list.  Of course, whether they did it or not remains to be seen.
