I harvest all scammer information from such items. Then use the scammer information to scam others scammers. Such as notices from other countries about lottery winnings, dead and dying unknown relatives, boxes of money at the airport just waiting for my deposit...etc.

Nothing like turning scammers onto scammers. Works very well and keeps them busy for months.

Try it.

Received "award notification" regarding two airline tickets in the mail. The notification looked like a W-2 form and had "US Airlines" and "Fly the US Skies" as a come on and that I needed to call immediately 866.390.9074 to receive my tickets.

1400 dollars worth of airline tickets for free?  Too good to be true!

Scam artists like this need to be put out of business and into jail.

I got one of those bogus mailings that look like it is from the IRS marked urgent.  I opened it and found it is an "award notification" of 2 free airline tickets on "US Airlines."  Just for a hoot, I called and talked to a woman. She says it is for a travel agency who are opening in Scottsdale, and all they want is for you to come to their "meet and greet" and spend an hour and a half while they "present their services to you, no contract, no obligation."  But she said if I want the tickets I have to "I HAVE TO SAY YES IMMEDIATELY", no time to discuss it or think about it because they go really fast and I can't wait and decide."  If I did not say "yes" right then she would have to document that I declined them and they would immediately go to someone else and there were people on hold on her phone waiting.  OH PLEASE!!!!  Also, US Airlines don't exist.........hummmmm!!!

I got the same "US Airlines" award notification with number 866-995-7078. Like all things too good to be true, I got on line to see what it was all about. And thanks to websites like this one and others I was able to throw it in the garbage. I hate these kinds of spam; they take advantage of those not smart enough to know better. Thanks guys and gals.

Well, yet another letter.   Not even good as far as official looking.  Looks like now even the amateurs are trying the scams.  Just a letter saying they had tried to contact us without any success and to call 1-866-995-7151.  Barbara Dion, Vice President signed it.  Official US Air logo not on it.  Instead , it was US Airlines - Fly the US Skies.

The latest number for this scam is 866-740-4421. They probably have a bank of numbers in the boiler room and can change any time.  Unfortunately, these scum can get away with this because it's not exactly illegal.  They have a complicated contract for a really overpriced product and are looking for really naive marks to sell it to.  Hopefully most people will either toss it or look them up on line.

I received one of these letters today. It appears to be exactly like the ones ya’all are describing.  It stated free round trip to anywhere in the Continental U.S. It was signed by Laura Shane VP. Worst attempt at looking official I have ever seen. They are in real need of a graphic designer and since there is no US Airlines, maybe they should come up with the name of a travel company. At least then it would not appear to be such an obvious scam. (For a couple of minutes anyway). What morons. The number they sent was 866-740-839 and the signature looked like a three year old signed it. No disrespect to three year olds.
Happy trails

This is the first one I've ever gotten and I'm glad I googled the info before calling 1-866-923-5294 .  I don't need anymore unwanted phone calls with these type of businesses.  I thought at first I actually finally won something.  I almost started to think of where I wanted to go.

i received the same letter...when i called and asked how they received my mailing address, they replied with they were given a demographic mailing inventory of addresses. this is so a scam. i then stared asking questions about what information i had to submit. they said a drivers license and credit card. but they insisted that the credit card is not to be used at all, they just want it for verification purposes to get the free tickets. so i asked "to clarify, i get 2 free airline tickets" and "how will these airline tickets be given to me"...they then slipped and explain that i would have to pay the taxes and fees! i said no thanks because that is what i was looking for...for something free, they still are trying to find a way to get my credit card information to thus scam me...no thanks. of all the replies, i have heard no one talk about anyone actually getting free tickets, so that is a clear indication that this is a scam.

Another big red flag, is when i initially called the phone number, they explained that only a SELECT few people are receiving these free tickets. by the look of all the comments and replies about this, it is clear there is no select few and that they are targeting the most people to find the few people that actually fall for this.

I got the same thing but with a different phone # (800-296-8357).

I received it on 5/24 and the letter said to call before 5/26. Looks like they time the letter so not to give you too much time to think through this.
