got a call from 816-420-1002 twice today. robocall left message that was from Citicard, and to call the 800 number this post indicates is a scam (800-298-6359), and gave a personal key code to enter. agreed that it is not good that they had my name somehow already. glad I do NOT trust calls like this, and that others have shared that this is indeed a scam. I blacklisted the number using Call Control app on my Android phone, so they won't be able to do anything except maybe leave voicemails. hopefully, they will give up quickly.

I also received a call from this number telling me city card had an important message for me. They asked me to call back and give code, which they left, go get my important message. I called city bank at the customer service on the back of the card and asked them about this call. Finally, when I got out of India / Pakistan / Bangladesh to some one in Kentucky, the citi bank service guy called the number. He reported that the automated answer asked him to enter this account number. No matter what he did, the same request to enter your account number repeated.
Stay away from the phone number. Don't call them back. All they have now is a tenuous link between a name (the one they used was close, but incorrect) and a phone number. Calling them back now provides a positive linke between a phone number and a city bank card.
Be very careful!

Received call during the past few days, stating it was calling regarding to "CitiCard assigned you", and asked to return call to 1(800)298-6359 with a six digi personal code. This f*** dam call also left two messages on my voice mail.

Hum. I see a lot of people say this is a scam..
I received four calls from this #. Only on the 4th call did it leave an automated message saying it was Citibank and to call another # and enter a PIN provided to get my message. I was suspicious so I logged into my Citi account. It is past due! Opps. Darn holidays made me forget to set up my online payment. Sigh.
I would be nice if this website would show the most recent posts first, instead of the oldest. Lame.

Fall for it. Got repeated calls asking to call 1 800 298 6359. WHen I returned the call and enter message number I was redirected to call 1 800 866 9900. A message answers "Thanks for calling Citicards" and immediately an operator answers as being from the Citibank collection department. Gave them all my information!!!! After hanging up something told me to call Citibank number from credit card. Cards have been cancelled.

800-298-6359 has called my home seven times today. The message says its about my Citi Card and leaves an access code I'm supposed to call. How do you make it stop? It's intrusive and I'm sick of it.

Just got numerous calls from this number like all of you. Thanks for the heads up ~ I was skeptical to begin with. It's appalling Citi Cards hasn't handled this. Don't get scammed.

I got a fishing call from this number, trying to get me to pay a non existent over due balance of $40 using a check by phone.
I hung up and called the number on the back of my card. They said that is not a citibank number

This number called me every two hours, and finally left a message. Why citibank have not addressed the issue over these many years?

I got the call.. said I was late on my payment and could save the late fee by paying by phone. Since the amount they said was close to what I thought I owed, and coincidentally, I WAS late on my payment, I ALMOST entered my checking/bank acct info as they asked. But I looked up my bill, it didn't match.. and I hung up. I just checked my phone log via internet.. and for the next hour.. there were numerous local calls made from my phone.. coincidence? or did they somehow access my phone line?
Brigid C 2011-07-25 16:20:09 Debt Collector
Yes , same happened to me..asking me to do a "check over the phone' i quickly ran to my citibank acct and discovered i dont OWE A THING. This is a fraud.

They said they were from citi-card. Knew acount balance etc..
I made the payment, but they never took the money out. Now
the real city-card is unhappy.

They keep calling and leave 800-298-6359. Who are they?
erin12110 2011-06-06 20:57:32 Unknown
Any clue where this is from?
Rob 2011-06-06 20:57:32 Unknown
This abuse is still going on more than a year later. I have gotten three calls just this weekend.
They claim to be "CitiCard" and give a "personal access number" to "pick up your message",
but when I called CitiCard's Customer Service to check on my account (using the number on
my bill, *not* the above number!), they had *not* robocalled me. So this is definitely some kind
of phishing scam.

I received multiple calls from this same 1-800 # over the last couple of days with code 8058##. I called CitiCard to see if they had called and they hadn't. They are probably using this code as a verification method to determine if they found a live person that has a CitiCard so they can further social engineer ways into your account. It reminds me of the fake "Unsubscribe" links in some spam messages which only serve to validate that their spam made it to a target that opens, reads and most importantly clicks on links in emails from sources that they don't know.
I too wonder why this hasn't been shutdown. It's been almost 3 years since this number was first reported...

Received a message requesting that I call this 1-800 # and enter code 328614. We are exhausted trying to remain secure.
