Call at least once a day, today at 6 am. Never leave a message

It's Credo Reference. They're a library database. Seems legit, but they don't leave a message. I picked up once, and they thought I was someone else - even though we subscribe. So, not exactly a good professional presentation.

Just got a call from 800-300-1735 at my work where I am a receptionist. A woman asked for the president to congratulate him on winning the who's who award. Never heard of it.

They called a colleague, offering a free trial of the product. Used my name to say I had transferred them to that new office. Had my name and extension, but the colleague saw it was an 800#, not an internal transfer . . .I called it back - no company name given but guessed at the time it might be Credo based on the approach. Didn't think much of their product before - think even less of their company now..

I initially picked-up the call, but just heard a dial tone. Then they called back and I didn't answer (no message). Then--note the cube maze I work in has phone numbers arranged serially--the whole office blew-up with one phone ringing after the other. Obviously a robo-dialer.

The is probably a telephone marketing number, and might not indicate from whom or where the call originates. My call was from a business-to-business supplier with whom I had dealt in the past, initially posed as a survey but actually trying to market to me more stuff. The call was not a violation of do-not-call laws because we have a business relationship with the supplier [ie, we have purchased items and provided business contact info.] So I think you can be sure the person on the other end is a telemarketer, but it could be for anything.
