They called today and left a message asking for me by name, left a call back number and control number. I called back and gave control number and acknowledged it was I. They wanted me to verify last four digits of SS #. I wouldn't...told them tell me what you have and I'll tell you if it's mine. He said he couldn't do that. Then asked me to verify my address. I wouldn't do that either nor would he tell me what address he had for me. I told him I don't owe any debts (which I don't), send me something in the mail if he wants to contact me cause he wasn't getting any info from me. He said OK he would take my number off the list.

Very fishy.

I received a call for "Courtesy Grace" today. I hung up.

I also received a call from a man with an accent.  It seemed to be a recorded message asking for an unknown person.  Said if I was not the person that I should hang up because it was a personal message. They gave me a 3 second pause to hang up.  I continued to listen and they said that since I was still there, I must be that person and to go somewhere to listen in private.  It continued to say they they were a debt collection agency, (Plaza Associates).  At that point I hung up.  I don't know how they came to call my number.

These @#$%^&*() Keep calling me with a recording and it my name is NOT GENITAL... the recording has a english accent and I'm not even indebt..... why are they calling me?

Ok ... here it is i obviously have bee receiving the same calls from these people and it seems to a web of people trying to threaten "legal" action against you if you don't pay your debt.

Just got a call on my cell that went to voicemail.  Said my name and if I was not me to not listen, then said there would be a short pause so I could listen in private and then it hung up.  Immediately used my Call Blocker app on the phone so they can no longer harrass me.  I have never gotten anything in the mail from them and they are not listed as a creditor/collector on my credit reports so they have no business contacting me via phone!

Just fot a call from this number on my cell phone...an autobot recording, could not tell what it was saying except that it was a debt collector. I think this is a scam.

They just called us leaving a message saying Hello Justin tomas you owe us a debt of like 10000 dollars if your not justin tomas hang up right now. We didn't know what to do but he started talking again. Kinda Creeped out.

Yet another of the many dirty, sleazy, underhanded debt collection agencies out there who invade homes with endless calls. It doesn't even matter if you have no debt or if they're calling the wrong person. They won't go away, so call block them.

I'm laughing at this. You guys really let this freak have it. Anyway, I got a call from the same number but nobody was on the line. Good! They have to pay for it since I picked up the phone.

I avoid "dirty, sleazy, underhanded" debt collection agencies by paying my bills.  It is amazing how well it works.

Hey Cindy a word to the wise.  I pay my bills also, but have been a victim of fraud.  Not everyone who gets these calls are people "WHO DON'T PAY THEIR BILLS", and some excellent bill payers have fallen onto hard times, so don't be such a smart a........  Not everyone is a deadbeat, and sometimes the best people in the world fall onto hard times.  So show some respect.  It could happen to you, remember what goes around comes around.

They were calling to look for my father. He passed away almost 20 years ago. Some reason they won't believe me. So Cindy, I pay my bills and get these calls. Maybe you should keep your judgements to yourself.

Mitchell MK law associates calling about a debt payment.  This was the call back number.  Have read others associated with this name and don't think I will as they sound dodgy.

Collection agency called Plaza Associates leaving long robomessage for some corporation I never heard of.  Told me to hang up and not listen to the message if I wasn't the party they intended to harrass.  HAHAHAHAHAHA - my voice mail box is my property and I can listen to whatever you leave there fool!  I immediately went to my voice mail service web site - I use YouMail - and set it to hang up on calls from this number, after playing the AT&T message "the number you have called is not a working number".  Thank God, I don't have past-due debt any more, but I lost my business as a result of the 9/11 attacks and had 52 (that's right, FIFTY-TWO) accounts go negative, and was called night and day for three years by the slimiest, drunk, lying pieces of human garbage that can figure out how to pick up a phone.  I learned a lot of strategies about dealing with them.  I still don't answer my phone unless I know who's calling.  They work an account in about 3 months cycles.  If they NEVER get you to pick up your phone, they call less often.  If they even once get a live person to answer, they start calling multiple times a day.  Never repay a debt through a collector, only pay directly to the company you owe, even if they say they "sold" your account.  They will still take your check.  As soon as you get a series of hangup calls, you know a debt collector is trying to feel you out.  That's where a service like youmail comes in handy.  You can call-block numbers, or have it play the disconnect tones, then hang up (even better).  When their robodialing machines detect the disconnect tones, it kicks your number out.  It is fun to toy with the representatives, but more effective, if you really want to be left alone, to make sure they never, ever get you to answer the phone.  Picking up so they have to pay their 800 toll might cost them a few pennies, but remember debt collectors are legally permitted to tack on "costs" to the original amount they are trying to collect, and THEY get to name the amount for the "costs".

a "Mr. Collier" called looking for information on co-worker but refused to give his first name and insisted on holding for information. This was the number he gave with extension 7230 but calling the 800 number requires getting past an 8-digit control code. Company name at 800 number was Plaza and Associates.

Got a call for John Sosa (I think, it was hard to tell when the automated voice AND the representative I called said it) That's not even close to being someone at this residence, nor does anyone here not pay their bills.  The lady recited the number back to me, I told her, yes that's the number I'm calling from and she asked how long it's been assigned to us (10 months) said she'd removed the number and asked if there was anything else she could help with.  Very courteous, we'll see if they do indeed remove it.

Exact same thing just happened to me Vegeta.  Needless to say they are now on my phone's blocked numbers so it will simply drop the call if they call again.
