I get a call every day despite being on the do not call registry. It's Health Care Recoveries, saying they may be able to get a medical bill from Highlands Medical Center paid off for you. Since I've never been to Highland Medical Center, I'm not sure how I got on their list. Names and numbers given all lead to other voice mails. Tonya Nathan first, who said if it's an emergency contact Evelyn Delgato at 8660451-5795. Just another voice mail there. Always, they want me to input my phone number, which I will not do, to leave a mesage. Scum, Scam, Need to get decent work and stop this.

These scumsuckers use caller ID to spoof their true name and phone numbers.  In my case, they appeared on my phone as "California Call" and the bogus local number of 661-454-5557.  They've called more than once, but this time I answered.

They are a debt collection agency looking for a deadbeat who had my phone number over 8 years ago.

After listening to their automated message from "John Mercurio"  I was given the 800 number to call (800-304-8519).  I called and told them to stop calling me because they have the wrong number.  Prior to be connected to a live person their voicemail system identified the company as "National Action Financial Services."

A google search will show you that this company is every bit as dodgy as you could imagine.  It will also give you their address on the Better Busines Bureau website if you want to mail them some coupons for hemorrhoid cream or something.

Anyone who gets calls from spoofed numbers should report it to the FCC.  It's easy to do online, and these dirtbags can be hit with a $10k fine for it.

U have to make sure u have the right number first by actually talking to the person who has the debt and verifying u have the right person first!! WTF r these a holes calling for? Does anyone know who they work for or is this another scam job?

Just recieved a message from these idiots.  Some robot saying to return the call immediately.  They say no name to validate who they are calling for and do not state the name of the company.  I called back and your immediately put on hold to wait for a representative, never states the company name at all.  Finally I got a guy who I barely understood since he was mumbling, I believe it was Mr Braun.  I asked what the name of the company was and he mumbled very quickly something I could not understand so I asked again and he did the same thing.  He asked for my name and social....really your calling me!  I will never give my name nor pass out my social.  I have been going through identity theft for the last 2 yrs and these extra calls I'm getting for scams is really on my last nerve.  Fact is by law they have to send written validation of the debt you supposedly owe, if they won't do that ya it's probably a scam.  They are phishing for you to give up more personal info such as social, full name, address, bank acct numbers and credit card numbers.  Report them immediately so they can be stopped!

Even though this is another old post - never, ever pick up or call these people back to talk to them! They are all scammers and now that they know it's a valid number with someone who is worried about an old debt (real or fake), they know they can keep calling you. Don't try to reason with them, it doesn't work. They know that some people will send money regardless if the debt is owed or not.

Even though this is an old post, if I'm reading then others may be too. Don't send them a recap of the statute - they already know it and it just confirms that they have you worried.  You can actually send them a "drop dead" letter stating not to call you period (regardless of the time).  Check out Clark Howard's web site for an example of this letter. A few years back we had a problem with a collection agency in Virginia (we had actually settled with the main company) threatening to call our neighbors. He was already calling our house and had called me at work once (my boss told him that if he ever called again, he would sue the agency)!!  We looked them up on the internet to get the address, sent a registered-return receipt letter and never heard from them again. With this guy that's calling now, does anyone know the name of the company so  that and the address can be posted?

I too have been repeatedly robo called from this same number.   Saying to call a "Mr. Curio" , regarding a debt collection from National Action Financial Svcs.  I  do not owe anyone any debt or have an outstanding debt. They always try to call when they figure no one would be home or during daytime hours.  When you try to respond to find the nature of the call,  or "press one now" as stated.  I No response. Would can to be done to stop these harrassing automated calls?
I wish I could get ahold of their private numbers....I would like to return the favor.

My advise for all those affected by this fraudulent company is to go to the FCC website and file a complaint online at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints so that they can have enough proof to take these guys to court. One single complaint might not do much but if all of us file one every time these guys call, the FCC will see the need to do someting about it.
Make sure to register your number (if not yet) in the National Do Not Call list. This will give you the opportunity to document such fact for the FCC in the complaint form.
Make sure to gather all the dates/times, names, etc. you can from those calls you get from National Action Financial Service so that you can provide such information in the FCC form. If you have a phone service like Vonage, you will be able to get digitally (wav) recorded voice mails that you can easily attach to the FCC complaint form as proof of the calls.
