I just blocked the number from my phone

My daughter received a call that she won a cruise.  When I called them at 1-800-309-7000, I was hung up on.
I am also very skeptical.  Does anyone have any info on this?

Was at an event a few weeks ago and couldn't resist the pretty girls signing people up to win stuff, not to mention a free key chain & pen. I usually give a fake number but didn't this time. Today i got a message on my answering machine from Christian at Sundance Vacations. She says i have a choice of picking up a new android tablet or a vacation trip to paradise. In the message she doesn't say where paradise is but states that the round-trip airfare, lodging & food is on them. Later on or tomorrow if i remember, i might call Sundance just for laughs and see what kind of hoops they want me to jump through. Will update post with any further shenanigans...

and enter your special secret code which is ******* (sorry for not telling u the code). Then i log-on and i got reply that pls enter your  NAME , Email,PHONE NO.,ADDRESS,STATE,CITY,STREET,ZIP CODE and Special ID Code.
Then i enter all the valid details and click on 'POST MY GIFT'. Then i get reply that - THANKYOU FOR YOUR REQUEST. AN E-MAIL HAS BEEN SENT TO YOUR E-MAIL,PLEASE FOLLOW THE LINK ON THE E-MAIL AND COMFIRM YOUR 'POST MY GIFT' AND COMFIRM YOUR 'POST MY GIFT' STATUS'.
Then I follow the link and i got reply that -
'THANKYOU FOR YOUR POST MY GIFT STATUS. Your 50000 DOLLARS WILL SEND TO YOUR ADDRESS- H.N.498,ashutosh nagar,krishna nagar,lucknow,UP 226023   INDIA within 48 hours. I'm entered in contest on 5 november'10. But I did'nt redeived any 50000 DOLLARS !!!

Received several calls from 800 309 7000 - caller hung up once phone was answered!!!  Who are they and what do they want!

I have been receiving these calls for a couple months now.. I got another one today.. same thing.. won a 7" tablet or a cruise to the bahama's.. The one guy was so pushy last week and called 3 times all in a row because I hung up on him after saying I wasn't interested.. There has to be something in it for them or they wouldn't be so pushy.. which usually means money leaving my pocket.

That is not true about the BBB.  They were able to get me out of my contract with Sprint very quickly and without paying the termination fee at all.  Sprint got the matter resolved quickly too because their ratings do go down with complaints.

I got the same call. Yet from what I've gathered by online research, yes you have to spend time sitting through those presentations and being badgered to buy their packages. But in the end, if you go with a strong mindset of saying "NO" to their offers, you still end up with a "partially paid" cruise. Now the bad thing is there are many blackout dates, which basically makes the partially paid cruise useless for many people who are working. But what about those who can get away for a few days during off season? Do you guys think the 1 and a half hour of going through the presentations plus the gas make up for the cruise that they give you in the end?

Yes, every time I get a great vacation for free with no strings attached the first thing I do is Google the phone number of the company I got it from and post comments on a discussion forum about unknown calls. Right...

You guys are retards. I got a call from citadel mall, SC for a trip to the Bahamas. I went, and it was a no strings attached kind of thing. It was awesome. If anyone gets a call, Go. Don't listen to any retard who wrote here.

I got a message today saying we entered a sweepstakes to win a free car, but our name was drawn for a free trip, but that we would have to go sit and listen to someone tell us about the company for one hour in Indianapolis.  I asked if it was a time share thing and they said no they would have told me if it was.  I still didn't like the feel of the whole thing, you have to listen to a spiel about the company before they give you your prize.

Since we can't drive to Indianapolis for this hour lecture I passed on it and told them to give it to someone else. I think he hung up on me.

Thank you all for the heads up.  I received no less than 10 calls from Smart Travel  1800.309.7000 x305, before I actually answered one .  The messages all said I won a "free" 4 day / 3 nite cruise to the Bahamas when I signed up at a Fever game this fall and were SO excited to tell me all about it.  I spoke to Brooke (with an "E") today who said all I would need to do is listen to a 1 hour presentation about thier company at Keystone at the Crossing and bring 2 forms of ID.  I would then receive my information on the cruise for 2 + meals + airfair that would need to be used within 1 year.  She did then mention that all we pay for is the taxes which can range from $189-$225.  I think the "FREE" part got lost somewhere in there.  Thanks again!

I also filled out an entry form for a car at the Carmel Auto Show back in August. Two months later I receive this call saying that "They were going to make my day". Like a dummy I call the number to be informed I won a three day trip to anywhere USA. Now all I have to do is show for an hour meeting where they will want to scam more data from me. Ahhh, yo!
