Kenny, are you sure it's 250 milliseconds and not 500 ms or even 750 ms? Do you measure how much gas you pump down to the 1000th of a gallon like the pump does and complain when your a few thousands off? Your response is completely absurd and useless.

These calls must be coming from an automated outbound call center. I received two calls simultaneously from this number, within about 250ms of each other. No messages are left.

I have informed Global Knowledge I am uninterested in their 'services' and asked them not to call any more, to no avail. So, I put a permanent call forward in our switch that forwards their calls to the Whitehouse main desk. After a few dozen hang up calls to that number, I'm certain someone will "kindly" inform them to cut it out.

Really? You guys are this publicly insulted? God they don't even leave you a message to annoy you like most of the travel/cruise scams do. I've used Global Knowledge as have a number of my co-workers. They're an official Microsoft, Oracle (and many other) Training and testing center. If you use a website that asks you for a phone number, especially when looking at tech documents and you DON'T expect a call for training and/or services you should get out of IT because you're obviously not smart enough to do the job.
FYI for "Kris". The Do Not Call list doesn't restrict companies to which you've provided contact information from contacting you. Also if you read the Terms and Conditions (you know that long complex legal language you need to agree to to use the site) you would know that you agreed to having someone contact you regarding your online transaction.
Although Mike, I have to say, I would have preferred a brief message that tells me who called me so I could chose wither or not I wish to return the call.

This number has called my job 3 times, no one is on the line. Then it hangs up.

In response to Mike, January 2009
Unfortunately, you are incorrect. We have received a large number of calls from different 800 numbers all linked to Global Knowledge, and they never leave a message. Ever. They have called our voicemail and our home number. Because they call repeatedly and do not say who they are, we report these calls to the National Do Not Call Registry.
If your company wants to receive multiple fines from the National Do Not Call Registry, it should continue these practices. If not, your company needs to make sure its callers comply with the standards you cited, and if they do not comply, it needs to fire those callers.

Got a call on Monday from 1-800-298-9920 at 3:18 PM CST,
a call yesterday from 1-800-307-3588 at 4:49 PM CST, and
a call today from 1-800-316-1343 at 12:47 PM CST.
I picked up the last call, and no one answered. The first two did not leave a VM. These calls are going to my cell phone.
I don't remember signing up for any white paper, and I don't agree with Mike. There is no reason for anyone to be nice to Global Knowledge if a company constantly calls with 1-800-numbers and not leave any VM or not answer a phone call. Anyone has the right to be rude from being bombarded with phone calls during work and not show any phone etiquettes.
Why do we have to call Global Knowledge to tell them that we don't want your cars anymore when they want our business? This is not one professional speaking to another. Your calls are at the level of a telemarketer and debt collector, just trying to find ways to your hands inches away from money.

Sounds about right, Global Knowledge or a close affiliate.

If I wanted to know whtat they were gonna say I would call back.

Mike,
You really need to look up the definition of "professional".
You obviously either don't know how unprofessional your companies phone practices are, or you do and you are trying to convince yourself that you work with a higher quality organization. I say convince yourself, due to the fact that almost everyone who has posted here has had the same or similar experience with Global Knowledge. Save your speil for the victims of your telemarketers, I for one do not want to hear it.

Is there any place where we can complain about these folks? My number is in the Do Not Call directory yet this 800-316-1343/Global Knowledge outfit keeps calling me every day. Incredibly annoying.
annoyed in cali 2011-06-06 20:57:34 Unknown
Thanks for the daily hangup calls, not even a voicemail left. Very unprofessional. AT LEAST READ THE SCRIPT OUT LOUD ON THE PHONE IF YOU TAKE THE TIME TO DIAL, PLAY A RECORDING OR SOMETHING. Give me free stuff for taking the time to call back so I don't have to look u up like this.

I receive calls from this "company" numerous times per week on my work phone - when I answer (and I do if I am in the office), there is NEVER anyone on the other end. I have never downloaded "white papers" from ANY sites other than those run by reputable, Fortune 500, companies, and since the caller never actually talks to me (or leaves VM) I have no way of verifying I have ever done business with him/her/them/it.
Seems like a cr@ppy way of doing business.
Kris 2011-06-06 20:57:34 Unknown
@Mike from Global Knowledge: My number is on the FTC's do not call list. Unless we explicitly request you to call us, you cannot just call our numbers.
Scot 2011-06-06 20:57:34 Unknown
Got a call from 800-316-1343 today on my office phone. Didn't answer it because I didn't recognize the number, and the name showing only said "TOLL FREE CALL." A message was left, but all it said was "I'd like to speak with Matthew," which isn't my name. The lady didn't leave her name, company name, or a call-back number. I searched the 800 number in Google and found this site stating that the caller is Global Knowledge. Several of my co-workers have gone to training there, but I've never been there myself. I've also never downloaded any whitepapers, etc as their employees have stated on here. I have absolutely no idea why they would have called my number or asked for someone named "Matthew."
Very Annoyed 2011-06-06 20:57:34 Unknown
If you call me, and I don't answer, do the courtesy of leaving a voice mail. Don't just hang up. Sounds like a cold calling operation.

I got a call from this number. I said hello, no one spoke so I hung up. I called it back. It said "Thank you for calling Global Knowledge". This is a place where I download business-related and IT-related white papers and such from time to time. Later they call me and try to sell me training. last time they called it was a different number.
DTE Technologies 2011-06-06 20:57:34 Unknown
Called me @ 12:35 cst and left no message. Am wondering if it is the same as some of the other posts, I have downloaded tons of white papers. Left no message, maybe they will call again..

I agree with "IT in Arizona". I say this because my wife forwarded me a link to some papers on Router Essentials from Global Knowledge. I downloaded the papers from them last Friday; here it is Monday and I got a call from the 800.316.1343 number. They didn't leave a message. They called my home and cell number.
Mike 2011-06-06 20:57:34 Unknown
I work for Global Knowledge. This is a very simple process. All you have to do is CALL THE NUMBER BACK, kindly let us know what is going on, kindly give us your number, we will be happy to look it up and then KINDLY ask us to not call or if you would like information on our training courses, we'll be glad to help you with that too.
If we get your voicemail, we WILL leave you a message. We are required to leave one message on your VM if we do get it.
(notice "Kindly?") We are working professionals too trying to help out other working professionals in their IT industries!
