I keep getting calls from Target Visa 1-888-755-5856. I answered once and no one was on the line (at least no one responded). What is even more bizarr is that I do not have or ever had a Target Visa or any other store credit card!! I want the calls to stop!!!!

Ditto on the phone message received. If it is indeed a legitimate Target Fraud line, I did make a first-time purchase today over the Internet to a company in Canada. I called the number on the back of my card and they ended up transferring me to someone from India with whom I okayed my transaction (two telephone transfers later)!!! So, if you have a new type of purchase (out of country, etc.) I guess they're only looking out for you.

They called me today, android left message to call back about my account. It does appear to be Target security, at least, when I had to enter my account number, the phone system read me back some transactions from November (4 months old).. I had to go to quicken to see if they were valid... press 2 to say ok, and hang up..
I don't know why those would come up I've not used the card since then... and my account still has a zero balance...
Odd, but yeah, I guess they're trying to be protective...

I was notified by the #800-319-8433 prompting me to call about transactions on my Target card. I chose to immediately call the # on the back of my card instead and was told by the gentleman with Target the call was generated due to a large purchase made earlier in the same day on my card which I told him I was the one who made the purchase so they cleared it for the transaction to go through. I am glad they do this and I told the gentleman that as well. So yes the 800-319-8433 is legit. But I still say its always best to call your bank or the # on the back of your card for extra precaution.

I got a call from 704-794-7539 (Concord, NC) asking me to call 800-319-8433, after reading this page, it looked like Target's Fraud Dept., which it was. They after asking the last 4 digits of my credit card and last 4 digits of ssn(it was totally electronic - no accent) went down my list of current charges to make sure they were legit, They were. If there were any fraudlent, there were steps to take to mark them as such.

I received a message from the same number. I called Target' s number on the back of my card and asked about this. I had difficulty understanding him because of his accent, but did understand he said that no call was made to me. I called again the next day and they said they had record of me calling this and verified my charges. I asked where I was calling and was told New Dehli. This, in part is why America is going down the toilet! We are outsourcing more and more of our jobs. so sad.

As it turns out that number is legit. I called through the number on the back of my card and they confirmed that I had been contacted about a fraudulent charge. I would still go thrugh the number on the back of your card however.

I actually received this same message and just to be safe called Target Visa's main number of 1-888-755-5856 and told them that someone with a thick accent had left a message to call 1-800-319-8433. She said it was Target's fraud division out of India that called me about some suspicious activity on my account. She said that they had put a hold on my account until they spoke with me to verify the charges that were made online. My advice: call Target Visa's main number if you do not believe me and they can verify that it was really Target Visa that called.

I had a similar message on my machine when I got home today. Scratchy sound to the call, thick accent (so thick I couldn't understand his name). I contacted Target by email and await their reply. I will NOT return the call.

Yes, someone with the same description called my house twice today from "Target" requesting information about my Visa card. Only used my first name. Sounds like a computer with a heavy accent. I refuse to call. I'm going to contact my credit card company first.

Someone with an accent using my first name only , saying their name unclear and that they are from Target. To give them a call back.
