Displays BCR and phone number.  I don't answer; no message is left.

I have been getting calls from them for my ex daughter in law for over a year but I have had an actual person call me. I informed them that i don't know where she is anymore they continue to call several times a day, their reason, "because you know her"!!!!! I liked to post about having your computer call them all day. I'm going to have to do that

And fill out the form if they call again.  That is what I did.  In two days the calls stopped.  Then the lawyer filed against them in court.  They will have to pay your lawyer's fees when you win.  It costs you nothing up front.
Obviously this is one of the more aggressive collectors.  Usually it's only the boiler room staff that is trained to be so rude.  Often when you call them you get "customer service" or whatever they call it, and they are very polite in asking a series of questions, then they stop.

Got a call on my cell a few minutes ago.  Caller ID showed 301/861-0015.  Representative asked for Rick, I told them they had wrong number, she asked to leave a message, I told her I did not know this person.  She continued on to ask me to have him call 800/330-3128 and that it was the Bureau of Collection Recovery.  I called the number and told them that he was not at this number and I didn't know him and they went on to tell me to stop lying and make sure that he calls as this is a very important business matter.  I'll file a complaint with the Attorney General and the FTC.

These screw-ups happen all the time.  Perhaps a careless data entry error or perhaps some double-digit IQ researcher found something when they were looking for somebody else.  Same thing happened to me.  We have had our number for over 25 years, and in fact we got it when the prefix was added, we had to switch to it to get the "new" phone features.  So nobody else EVER had our number.

The callers are trained to be rude and aggressive, they often get a bonus for acting that way.  This industry attracts the lowest of the low.

Received a call from 404-419-7627 on October 13th, 2011 from Barbara. She left a return number of 1-800-330-3128 ext 4376--- Asked to have my number removed from their calling list. This number (404-419-7627) shows up on caller ID at least two times a day as a "Out Of Area" number. They have "no record" of me in their system and say they are looking for another person and that "this is a business matter". Hopefully My number will be removed -- I have no idea how my number was obtained due to the fact that my number is unlisted and on ALL "Do Not Call' lists! I remain baffled at how my number could be linked to someone else when I have had the number for 18 plus years!! Fingers crossed that my number is removed!! : ) : ) : ) : )

Unfortunately the Do Not Call list doesn't apply to debt collectors.  BCR is NOT a scam, they are "legit" in that they are indeed debt collectors.
This happens all the time, the same people who end up on their list are folks who move around in an unsettled manner and their "old" phone numbers eventually get reassigned to other folks. Debt collectors know this, but since nothing works like harassment they just keep it up because sometimes they have the right number and the right party as well.
Do a web search on how to stop Debt Collectors.

Keep getting calls from 202-607-2748 and then they leave a message saying this 800 # 800-330-3128. Its really annoying !!!

I have been recieving calls from this number for a few months now. We never answer the phone to them so they always leave a message. Sometimes they call 3 or 4 times a day. I hate when they call after 9 pm or on Sundays (especially sice they should be closed!)

i got a voicemail saying to call this number this morning at 10:07am. But the number that called was 202-607-2749. when i listen to the message, the only thing that you can hear is "330-3129" then static. if you research both numbers, they both come up listed in Washington DC. The 202 number comes up as a cellphone from Sprint Wireless, and the 330 comes up as a lan line Washington DC as well.

I get a call every single day between 8:15 and 8:30 a.m.  It's always an automated voice telling me to call BCR at 1-800-330-3128 - nothing about why they are calling or anything.  I suspect they are looking for another person for whom I get calls regularly and the callers never seem to believe that this person is not at my number.

This is a collection agency.  "Bureau of Collection Recovery".  While they claim not to be affiliated with any other collection agency, they began calling a fresh new number that I happened to give to Arrow Financial (another collection agency) after about 24 hours.

Did anybody else get a harassing series of hangup calls from CTI before the harassing series of BCR calls started.  Pretty strange that one bunch of calls dropped off right as the other started.

Its a real deal, your case will be assigned to a real lawyer.  calls stopped in 2 days.   Fill out the form, they will ask you to sign an agreement and then you should get an email.  Its a simple streamlined process and not at all complicated.  You may get compensation if you qualify and it sort of sounds like you may.

Same story - these guys have been calling me 2-3 times a day for months looking for some person named Alanis or something.  I've told them repeatedly that they have the wrong number, but they still keep calling.  Spoke with a very rude representative named "Erika" who refused to put me on with her manager.  Then she hung up on me.  How can up on someone who you repeatedly call??

These guys are con artists - they're not necessarily looking for people who owe debts; they're just harassing whoever they can to bully people into paying debts - whether or not they're actually real.

I've reported them via www.donotcall.gov, the BBB and my state's attorney general's office - I doubt any of this will make a difference.  

Its textbook harassment but realistically taking them to court cost too much and the only recourse for us regular consumer is to change our phone numbers when this happens.  Unfortunately, they don't give up - I've been asking them to stop calling for months and I still get about 2 calls a day - every day including Sunday!

This is BCR, a debt collector.  these idiots called me with 40 harassing hang-up calls before I got the chance to speak to somebody so they could find out they had the wrong number!   The problem in society is not a few unfortunates who fall on hard times and get behind in their bills, its not a few deadbeats who try to get away with this or that.  It's people like BCR with their selfish end-justifies-the-means attitude.  They really don't care how many people like me they bother as long as their dim-wit owners keep getting checks.
Once they found out they made a mistake there is no way to take back all the harassment they caused.

I was getting calls from this number and several other numbers numerous times a day everyday.  I did have a legitimate small debt that needed to be collected that I was unaware of.  I finally was able to get someone on the phone after months of hang ups or no messages.  I was given the extension 4024.  The woman was very helpful and I was able to get my problem resolved.  Apparently, they have an automated dialing system and it is set up to keep calling.  The woman I spoke with kept up with my account and made sure that the calls stopped while I made my payments.

I have received numerous pre-recorded calls from BCR over the last few weeks.  I finally called 800-330-3128 to find out what it was about.  Long story short, I filed a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry and informed BCR.  "Jen" promptly hung up on me.

Recording called me Dec 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, and 11 from 202-607-2749 or 202-607-2756 with same message to call 800-330-3128.  I only get part of the message on my voice mail.

called multiple times/day from this number.  I am not suspect to any collection agencies or have any reason to be.

This is some sort of falsified calling scam.

I'm having the same problem, they keep calling and leaving messages to call back this number 18003303128. It didn't sound genuine the first time and so I've never called them back.  I am glad I am not the only one with this problem, but still mad that I can't do anything about it.

I gave Arrow Financial (another collection agency) a fresh new phone number and BCR began calling me within 24 hours.  Funny, Arrow Financial never called me on that fresh new number.  Wonder if they are connected?

These flippin' people call my house 3 times a day! I get the same recording everyone is getting, "Call BCR at 1 800 330 3128" I just called them and got a recording then a woman's answering machine that you can barely hear her!!

Unfourtantly I do not have Caller ID - I just *69 the number and this one popped up: (202) 607 2749 - unfourtantly I just get clicking and no one picks up.

I have received numerous calls from BCR regarding a fellow co-worker. I work in the HR Dept and it's our policy not to forward personal calls. So I don't. They call at all times throughout the day, to no avail.

I'd like to know how to block their calls myself.

update!!

Good news.  I stopped my calling from BCR completely.  BCR uses google searches (among other things) to find peoples numbers.  I searched my number and sure as s***, I found the person BCR was looking for.  I had the number removed from google (follow instructions, and DON'T be honest) and within one day...  no calls.

now I can recieve all my other spam and political calls in peace.
